Came here with our Family for Christmas lunch. Out Server Ali was very attentive and Personable and good was great!

Called for delivery (and for the last time I'm sad to say) of our usual order. Got a sweet and sour chicken combination dinner instead of the Mongolian Beef combination that I asked for by name, then by the menu dinner combo# that it was always assigned. What wasn't conveyed over the phone, or the multiple website links was the fact that it's now a differently named business and the menu has changed. I called to inform them of the mistake, and was spoken to as if it were my mistake for not knowing the new business name and menu, even though the direct dial phone link on the old website for China Inn is still active, and nowhere is it evident that anything has changed. Poor communication, service, and sub-par food, make it very evident that it isn't the same restaurant anymore... Too bad I had to find that out by way of this experience.... but it makes a lasting impression, and I intend to share it in order to help others avoid the same disappointment. read more

The food here is good typical Chinese. Service very good, and friendly.

If they mess up your order you might not want to speak up unless you want to be yelled at and accused of lying! Unbelievable!!!!!

They make my food the right way they have amazing people that work there and when you are either eating in or take out of deliver they know how to treat their customers read more

Amazing food! The Pecan Shrimp was my favorite. The owner is very hospitable and the staff is super friendly and courteous. The Best Chinese food I've had in the Twin Ports! I've lived in big cities in the West Coast with amazing Chinese restaurants and this place is very comparable how authentic the food is here. read more

I ordered three meals delivered from here today and the bag was soaked at the bottom with random sauces. I was told by the driver that this just happens sometimes. As it turns out some food had spilled out into the bag and two of the meals were covered in each other. I called the restaurant back and after a brief conversation between staff members they happily sent replacement meals which arrived within 10 minutes. The food here is typically satisfying but I have to give an additional star for the excellent service I receive whether I'm ordering from home or in their quaint little space. read more

The food is not terrible by any means. It's not wonderful, but will do when you're looking for reasonably priced Chinese food. My first experience with China Inn was calling ahead of time to get take-out, and the process on the phone was relatively easy and friendly. This is why it was such a shock when I got there and no one seemed to want to talk to me. They took my money, gave me my food, and didn't even say thank you. Not sure what that was all about. Still, I was good with the price and the food, and I have to say, they give you a VERY generous portion of chicken for your General Tso's chicken. read more

I seriously do not understand the bad reviews! Dummies: If atmosphere is more important to you than the quality and flavor of the food? Frigging move to New York! Yea, the waitress isn't a perfect 10, and there are a few stains on the walls; but who cares? The place is clean enough, and the food is outstanding, And, the portions are insane! Here are my top 3, but there are many, many more - (1) green beans with chicken, medium spicy. Easily enough for 3 people, and the taste is great, with a smoky sesame kind of undercurrent. (2) Shrimp with lobster sauce, and it is the best in the universe, with many melt in your mouth, high quality shrimp. If you get both, put some of the sauce in with the green bean dish. Trust me - It works. (3) Sliced Fish. Delicate Walleye with sweet, sliced onions and greens. A dish i drive 20 miles for regularly. Enough said! read more

One of my favorite Chinese places in town don't trust the reviews from the cities yuppies they are all just cranky white people.

My boyfriend grew up near China Inn and firmly believes that it has the best Chinese food he has ever eaten. It was the very first place he took me when he brought me home to meet his family. I have eaten here about a dozen times in the last three years and it has always been great, food, staff and all! They have the BEST chicken noodle soup. (It's not Chinese, but it comes with all the lunch specials, and I'm so glad it does!) Another unusual and tasty thing I have only seen there is chicken wings with oyster sauce. Be prepared to bring home the leftovers, because they give you a lot. read more

Having seen the commercials and news coverage of China Inn's "Voted as one of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the US" award my wife and I thought we'd give it a try since we were in Duluth for the day. We got there just after they opened for business at 11:00 AM.First impressions: The place is a dump. OK, perhaps just one notch above a dump, but the entry area was cluttered and the place is basically dark and dingy. The carpeting needed to be vacuumed. The ceiling is stained and cracked where the roof has leaked. The men's room, even though the restaurant had just opened for business for the day, had obviously not been cleaned recently. There was TP on the floor, the sink was filthy, and the paneling on the walls was falling apart.The waitress / host brought us menus and took our orders promptly. A minute later she cam back with our drinks and tried to take our orders again. She explained that she was sick (!!!), had a bad cold and was in a fog due to having taken cold medication. She didn't stop there but proceeded to tell us that she was sure that it wasn't just allergies and went on to describe her symptoms! Great! Our waitress is sick! The person who will be bringing us our food is sick. This should not need to be said but here goes: Foodservice staff who are sick should stay home and they certainly should not tell customers that they are sick!!The food was good, but not great. Portions were more than ample. I had sesame chicken and my wife had orange chicken. Both were good but aside from a sprinkling of sesame seeds on my plate and some sliced of orange peel on my wife's plate there was really no difference; They tasted the same. All in all, China Inn is a typical neighborhood Chinese place. If I worked or lived in the area I'd probably go back for take-out but I would definitely not make a special trip. No stars for this joke of a eatery. I took my Mother there today for a special day as it was the one year anniversary of my Father's passing. Upon entering, the hostess blurted out "here or to go" no hello from her. We ordered and when our food came she switched our dishes. When I spoke up and told her, she started yelling and that is what I ordered. She took my plate and stormed into the kitchen and came back with a shrimp dish. I explained that I cannot eat seafood and I did not order that, she came unglued. She asked my Mother what she heard and my mom was speechless. Again she stormed into the kitchen. I grabbed a menu and showed her the item I order and she yelled "that's what I brought you the first time". She went back in the kitchen and was screaming in chinese to all the kitchen help and it was obvious she was talking about me. At this point I was ready to leave but my Mom was so looking forward to Chinese we stayed. Our food was terrible, the food was greasy like leftovers warmed up. I will never ever go back into that pit. read more
