The restaurant is nicely decorated with beautiful murals of India on the walls. The staff are attentive, friendly, and efficient. First off, I'm very sorry that I attacked the food before I took photos, but dude, everything looked and smelled sooooo good. I really enjoy the Palak Paneer and the Indian rice. Nice large chunks of Indian cottage cheese, along with the spinach. My husband loves the Chicken Mushroom along with the Indian rice. Each order comes with the perfect amount of food. The Naan is to die for, with so much garlic on the garlic naan. It is crispy on the top and wonderfully chewy on the inside. The most perfect naan. The Samosas are so tasty with potatoes and peas and a beautiful combination of spices of India. The outside is beautifully golden brown with a wonderful crunch. We also tried the onion rings, that have perfect Indian spices, which make these onion rings so much better than your average onion rings. After a long day of hiking, my kids were looking forward for butter chicken for dinner. I promised them Indian food. I was little bumped, the place was rated 3 star but it was close to our hotel. We decided to give it a try. We were little shocked to enter to discover non of the staffs were Indians. We sat down to order food and come to find out there is no butter chicken on the menu. The server directed us to similar item on the menu. My son only wanted butter chicken. We asked the server, if they only had one type of biryani because the menu only says Delhi biryani .She replied innocently, we have chicken, shrimp and lamb biryani. She doesn't know there are other types of biryani. Oh well.. we placed our orders. We loved the garlic naan. I think that was cooked deliciously. My daughter loved the mango lassi. Off course, she decided not to share. I asked for chillies twice, it never made it to my table. Quantity wise, they gave generous portions. We were happy with the portions. This place just comes to the number one spot for North Indian food in Tucson for me. We got the dinner for 4 which included chicken tikka, chicken tandoori, samosas, murg hydrabadi chicken, naan, and chicken biriyani as well as samosas and papads. The food was delicious..I am partial to the murg chicken and the naan were huge ( in flavor and size). Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. The New Delhi palace has a wide selection of Indian food and it was pretty good, the chicken curry was not bad but the tikka masala was spot on. The naan bread was large but it had a lot of butter and it was quite off putting. The restaurant was almost completely empty when I dined here so the service was pretty good but I can't say how good it would be during a busy time but the servers were respectful so the service was good. The restaurant had murals on the walls and music that fit the theme of the restaurant, and the lighting wasn't bad as well so in all it was a good experience. read more

New Delhi has been on Places to Try list for a couple years and I was finally able to check them out last week. Wow! The food was amazing. The rice was perfectly cooked and we got a chicken dish (medium) and a lamb dish (mild). The Karhai chicken was our favorite and medium level was just right. The Lamb Saagwala was good, but I would get it in medium next time. I loved that you can pick your spice level. The menu was easy to read and understand. I like the ambiance and the space of the restaurant. My only negative was service was very slow that night. They were short staffed and our waitress did her best, but it did take quite a while to order. My new favorite Indian restaurant in town! read more

We are new to Tucson and found NDP, tried it and became regular customers. We brought our son here several months ago and ordered a family meal and asked NDP to remove cashews from the dishes due to our son's nut allergy, food arrived he began eating and crunches into a cashew! He had an allergic reaction. We informed the staff and they said it would not happen again and apologized. Fast forward to 12/19/25, we talked to the server, who identified herself later as the manager. We reminded her of our previous issue and tried to remove the cashews from two things in the meal. NDP refused to remove the cashews and explained since cashews were in the ingredients of two items in the family meal, they would only agree to change 1 of the 2 items with cashews because it's too complicated for the cooks. read more

My family and I have eaten here since they opened. We of course have our favorite dishes. We had it delivered last night. The lamb vindaloo is not the same at all. The taste is not bad but not as good as it used to be. Also the lamb pieces are much much smaller and several pieces had grizzle which was very unpleasant. Also many more large pieces of potatoes than before. The garlic naan didn't really have any taste of garlic as before and the texture was more like a fluffy pita bread although not unpleasant but not what we used to get which is what we would prefer. The mint chutney although tasted fine there was a lot more liquid to it. Again the mulligatawny soup was different than it used to be. It wasn't bad just not as good as before. read more

The problem with this place is they are not reliable at their opening hours,on Saturday 3/15/25 I invited my friend to have dinner. I called 6 times between 4:30-5:15 to check and no answer. Their website confirms that they should open at 5 pm as well as here in this app. Drove there and we learned that it was booked for special event when a person came out to let only some people inside! I couldn't find words to describe my disappointment about a business that runs by unprofessional management. We arrived with a large party for a birthday and they combined some tables quickly and sat us right away. The menu is extensive with many drink options and dishes ranging from chicken and lamb and seafood to vegetarian plates and insanely good naan! We had a Valentines Day reservation for 6:00. Arrived at 5:45, & we were seated right away at a table with one water glass that was already filled w/room temperature water. The other glass stood empty. Every other table had the unused glasses overturned. The restaurant was about 1/2 - 3/4 full; there were 5-7 open tables. After we were seated, we waited 20 minutes before anyone came to our table to even talk to us; when the waitress finally came, she asked if we were ready to order. We told her we were never given menus. We also asked for fresh glasses; she said ours were upright because we'd made a reservation (but only one glass was filled?) She brought us some menus, then left again. We finally placed our order around 6:15. At 6:40, we still had not received anything; when we inquired she told us to "look around;" the restaurant was obviously packed - people were waiting to be seated. Which was now true - however that wasn't the case when we were first seated. We told her this, & she began to argue; that our order had been placed just 30 mins ago (perhaps, but we had waited 20 mins for a server to even take the order!) I told her that we had been at the restaurant now for more than 50 mins, & had only been served 2 glasses of water & a Coke (that we had to ask for). We asked how much longer the wait might be & she replied "I don't know. I obviously don't work in the back." She asked if we still wanted our order. My husband told her if they had already started cooking it, we would stay; if not, cancel the order. She said she would check. She disappeared & came back to the dining room TWICE - yet she ignored us completely both times. At that point we had been there over an hour. We paid for the Coke we drank & left. Very close to 5 stars. I order from this place via DoorDash so I can't comment about the restaurant or service. This is an excellent curry restaurant; I've ordered from here a few times. The Chicken Tikka Masala has large chunks of chicken in a creamy sauce. Excellent flavor overall. My new go-to is the Chicken Makhani with bits of tandoori chicken in an amazing curry sauce. Reminds me of Butter Chicken. The Pulao rice is a great substitute for white rice but their white rice really has a lot of flavor on it's own. You can eat it right out of the box. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is the naan. The regular, cheese, and Rocket nan only have a very small difference in flavor. The cheese naan lacks enough cheese to taste it. It's not bad naan, but it all kinda tastes like regular no matter which one you order so you might as well save a dollar. They do a good job with DoorDash.
