The email notifications could use some improvement--the scheduling link in the email went to the wrong system--but the scheduling link on the website worked perfectly fine. I didn't buy new frames this time since my prescription didn't change and I'm still happy with my current pair. They do have a wide selection of frames, and while many lean toward the expensive side, the quality looks good and there are plenty of nice options to choose from. Overall, a positive experience and I'll continue coming back.

It has become extremely difficult to schedule appointments with Dr. Hinkle or Dr. Boyle. After waiting weeks, we've arrived for appointments only to be told they were canceled without notice. Additionally, the front office staff is often rude and make simple questions feel like an inconvenience. The newer staff responsible for fitting glasses also do not seem to take the time to properly ensure a correct fit. This has been very disappointing given the level of care we experienced in the past. Unfortunately, today was the tipping point and we will not be back.

He took his time to examine my eyes and did some exams that other doctors had never done (such as taking a picture of the inside of my retina to see the back of the eye and its nerve, for example). It also had been super easy to get an appointment quickly as a new patient. The office staff is super helpful and very friendly. The optician was helpful with showing me all the different glasses they have in their shop, and none of the staff members were pushy about me having to buy the glasses there. They have a big selection of different styles. If you can't find what you're looking for, they offer to look things up for you or they give you the prescription so you can buy the glasses and/or contacts somewhere else. Great doctor, great office! So happy I have found them.

From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. If you value your vision and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Brian listened to me as I explained my ordeal. Every time I thought the glasses were adjusted okay at the original shop, after wearing them I had issues with the nose pieces, the ear pieces, and the non-horizontal fit (sitting crooked on my face). Brian fixed everything. I've been wearing the new glasses and they fit great. Brian is a fantastic optician, in my opinion he's worth a million gold stars. Thank you Mr. Quinn!

(by the way, this store which is now located in One Loudoun Ashburn used to be in the Dulles town center mall in Sterling, and I did read all the negative reviews on Yelp about that location, but we decided to take a chance anyways.). The service was good, though we did have to wait about 25 minutes before an eye care advisor could sit down with us to price everything out. It took another 10 minutes to finish the pricing because of some system glitches on their end. The options ended up being pretty expensive, but we were still able to make a selection. Even though we couldn't apply the 40% discount because we used our insurance, they were able to give us a decent enough discount using a coupon lessening the blow. Both of the advisors who helped us were incredibly friendly and welcoming. This initial review is just for the frame selection and the ordering process. I will update it once we receive the actual glasses in a week or two. Update: although they said that the new pair of glasses would take up till 10 days, it arrived in four days and we had the new pair in our hands on Thursday - so far so good.
