Being that this isn't my neighborhood market I likely haven't invested the time in New Frontier to learn to appreciate its quirks. Things were tricky to find. Milk options left something to be desired, especially considering my girlfriend has weened me off anything but non-fat milk. So, I had only one non-fat option and it was $5 for a gallon. Milk suddenly more expensive than gas. Blame Obama. I bought 1% milk and, of course, heard about it later. Produce section was quaint but had nice options and good prices. I wanted to support Farm to School and buy the bagged apples but they were bruised to the point of needing a court appointed defender. I opted for some organic apples that were the dirtiest I've ever seen. Organic apparently provides a free pass on washing produce. I visited because I bought a copy of The Oregon Vagabond. Inside the homeless rag I found a coupon for $5 off the purchase of $25. Sweet, right? Less sweet when the hipster chick at the counter thinks it's one of the regular coupons that come in the monthly newsletter for 10% percent off. I couldn't bring myself to say anything. read more

This is a great little corner market. I have been to hippie co-ops and 7-11s, but I never thought I could buy cheap beer and kombucha in the same place. Their prices are a bit high for the food items, but not more than you'd expect for a corner store. The staff is friendly and they have a great bulk section. I also love that they have a flyer board, which so many businesses have just stopped having for whatever reason. read more

Absolutely perfect. They have a great selection of wine and beer (not just the standard grocery store variety), great bagels and baked items arrive every day, there is a large "by the pound" section in the back and a phenomenal produce and cheese section. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. And the coffee is usually hot and always good. They have wine tastings on Fridays and carry a huge variety of local companies (Cousin Jack's Pasty's, Knee Deep meat, Cornucopia sandwiches and Bob's Donuts, etc. etc.). Sometimes I end up at New Frontier multiple times in a day and I have to say I'm always happy for that chore. read more

This place is great. A sweet little hipster market with all of your needs. We walk town through the lovely historic homes of Eugene and stumble across this gem. Just moved to town and feel blessed with a awesome close by local market to get natural products and produce. Its more of a specialty beer store. There were a few vegetables and some health food but very minimal! If you just need 1 or 2 items then it may work for you. There were a lot of homeless people outside living in the shrubbery but if that doesnt bother you then go for it! read more

Really great prices on COFFEE (Cafe Mam and Equator Coffee) for only 7.99 a pound. Compare to Market of Choice, where I believe it is 11.99/lb. Fill up you coffee mug for only 1.25, best deal in town! 4.20 wines that are pretty tasty. Nice friendly people. Coupons avail. for discounts on bulk shopping. (10% off $25 or more of groceries, I believe). Great organic produce! Good bulk section. I love this neighborhood store! read more

This place is awesome! Great wine and beer selection. On fridays they have wine tasting and I have yet to get a bad wine! I'm very picky and I know I will get a good wine everytime here. If your more of a beer drinker they have a good selection for that and I hear they also do beer tasting but I'm not sure of the day or time. Also they have good food, healthy food with the mini mart feel! Much better then dari mart or any of those. They have my favorite kombucha tea also! 5 stars for sure read more

This is my fave place to shop. It has great prices on organic produce and their coffee prices for bulk coffee are best in town! My husband loves their beer and wine choices. My kids love the people at the register who are awesome. It is everything (including lots of organic bulk) in a smaller package. Like the grocery stores of the past. By the way they also have a large selection of mountain rose herbs and teas, I have recommended my neighborhood store to several people and they have all thanked me for sending them! read more

I absolutely love this health food store. Everything they do is so completely legit and well thought out. It all comes from the heart you can definitely tell. New Frontier is one of a kind! Honestly, their produce is the BEST in town. They have an exceptional bottle market. And in spite of the small scale, they have just about everything you can imagine needing. And what they don't have they will special order for you and get it there in no time. Really nice selection of locally raised meats too. The staff are fun and helpful to boot. I used to live in the neighborhood which was how I came to love the market and now I'll drive way out of my way to shop there. Worth every effort. read more

Great little store. I always appreciate very much that New Frontier is still there. It always seems like the kind of place which would have unfortunately disappeared, but happily it carries on. It's like a little neighborhood corner store but actually has a "genuine" feel to it and carries high quality products, not typical convenience-store type stuff. I love this place! I used to come here all the time when I lived nearby. It's convenient, and open late hours, and has a surprisingly good selection for such a tiny store. It's also one of the only places open on holidays like Christmas or Thanksgiving. If I need to get some last minute food on my way to Thanksgiving dinner, this is where I go. My one complaint is that it's a little expensive, but if I still lived nearby I would be more than happy to pay a little extra for the convenience. read more

This is hands down my favorite place to shop! Great selection on everything from organic veggies and incense to bulk spices and snacks for my kids. We usually shop there 3 times a week, except in the summer; when we often make it there nightly for ice cream after the park. The store is very family friendly and has aisles wide enough for a stroller. read more

I love coming into this store! Every time I walk in, I am greeted with an enthusiastic "hello!" and I am reminded of the theme song to the show Cheers, "sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came" Here's a list of the things I like about this store in no specific order Chester! The music. Every time I walk in, always good music playing. I've discovered a lot of new music through this store. Its nice to go somewhere that isn't playing the generic muzak (aka elevator music) The people. Always friendly. I especially love coming in on friday nights during wine tastings. everyone there is always fun and its always a good experience. Its never a generic experience, I always get treated like a friend and not just another boring customer. All the wine and all the beer. so many options. and whenever I can't make a decision, I just ask an employee what they like and its always good. The produce. so fresh. so organic. so good. and the girl at the counter who always spins my fruit saying that" it makes it taste better". you will always leave this place smiling. The monthly art show. support local art! monthly sales and coupons that never expire. Even though this store can be a bit expensive, you can actually get a better deal on certain items. its worth it to investigate. The overall atmosphere of this place is just amazing. it takes you to a time of realness, of what your grocery shopping experience should be like. read more

I used to live in the neighborhood so I would stop in frequently to buy snacks, drinks, etc. spent way too much money there but at the time I was okay with it. During those times it was always a good experience, friendly service, good vibes. Always left that place with a smile. Well I was traveling for a few months and now I'm back, and wow things have changed. I went in the other day to get coffee and it was a very uncomfortable experience. The cashier was rude, and all the employees seemed to be angry. I couldn't get out of there quick enough. there must have been a change in management or ownership, because this is not the new frontier I remember. its a good thing I have moved to another side of town. read more

I've experienced a lot better customer service than this. Even the rudest and most careless customer service beats this. This one guy was roaming all over the store, doing nothing but eyeing the customers, and me mostly-- probably because I wear dark clothes and I'm clearly not a hippy or a hipster, anyway-- come here if you're interested in walking on eggshells and having people walk on eggshells with you. It feels great. Exactly like Eugene. Unbelievable. No awareness of physical disability here and why someone might be asking to leave a heavy cart vaguely near the register. My place in line was bookmarked unnecessarily and I encountered the most passive aggressive treatment I've ever encountered in a store period. This is a true community corner store that has a little of everything, including surprisingly good bulk and organic produce. Prices on staple goods are quite good. They have excellent, STRONG brewed coffee and Yerba Mate. Overall, my favorite grocery store in Eugene. read more

Im new to this part of eugene and this is where I've been shopping. there OG choices are okay and there selection of wine is once the price is a little high but not too much the service is fine there friendly. there machines are ancient and it would be nice to know that my money was being spent to upgrade my neighborhood market but all in all it serves its purpose read more
