The guy (Lafayette) is a Cheap, Greedy. Untrustworthy, Flip-Floper and gouger who should not be trusted because he does conspiracy for living! He is a FRAUD and here is why: I was referred by a former employee of that place (Javier) to this shop with such a long and meaningless name to replace wheels (rims) of for Mercedes-Benz S class, I got a cold reception over the phone when I called the guy in a first place (owner named Lafayette!) to set up a business appointment! On March 19th I grabbed a sample of rim and I drove nearly 70 miles to get to his dirty and worse than a "Junk Yard" so called "shop" in National City! Despite his cold and very unfriendly on the phone and in person receptions (even though I offered to buy lunch for his employees to give him a friendly faith which he said "there is no need to" in response instead of thank you!) But just because of reference a work employee gave about him despite horrible level of professionalism and really nauseating hia shop conditions I decided to give him my business anyways! He measured my Mercedes left front wheel not at safe equipped shop (if he had any! I didn't see any!) but in the middle of his junk yard's drive way under hot sun to order spacers were needed! He said the cost for spacers and installing would be $706.06, and he wants 386.06 of it right away and $320.00 also when he completed the installation, and he said he wants all in cash! I quickly gave him a personal check since I usually don't carry cash in a large amount but I've got a feeling that he's pretty money hungry since he dose't pick up calls but rather texts, so he doesn't pay for possible costly phone calls, and he gets opportunity to think about answers by texting instead and doesn't want even pay a few cents to credit card company to make his business more customary, professional and easy to pay! I asked him if he can also find out about cost of set of 4 good-looking quality tires to put on new 4 rims, he gave me the estimate on tires and when I verified price for the same tires at other stores I noticed he quoted me $43.00 more expensive on each tire for total of $172.00 plus taxes and labor cost in addition which would be exceed $200.00 difference! I texted him and honestly told him the price for tires he quoted me at other store is $172.00 lower and I can buy my own tires if he wouldn't mind! He immediately texted me back and said he changed his mind, and he would not do the job, and he asked me to stop by and grab the spacers and bolts he ordered for and leave! I got shocked by his "My way or Highway" business practice and an obvious super cheap, greed and flip-flop mentality the guy has! The fact that he punished me by denying me a service he signed the agreement and has already got partially paid for to complete demonstrates his elogic that saying "You obey to pay me the amount I ask or I'll feel free to illegally flip-flop and throw the agreement to trash can under my desk"! I came to his business to have the service he supposed to equally give to community members regardless of their skin color, national origin and gender but ended up buying his spacers he refused to provide the whole seller's invoice for if he really ordered those for my car (because he probably was stock with those spacers and got a golden opportunity to get rid of them for nice cash without any other involvement! Anyways. I drove another 70 miles to him again to pickup those mandatory sold spacers, I took my wheels. Bolts and Spacers to Discount Tires close to his shop, and they did an awesome job of replacing them and also installing set of 4 brands new similar with those Lafayette was trying to gouge me by saving $240.00! That was my 1st and definitely the last business experience with a Junk yard called New Image Customs which as you can see in their Yelp's record doing a reverse discrimination by accepting a black customer ONLY! I was the only non black customer of him which ended up abused and denied service! I enclosed the invoice as an evidence to my dissatisfaction experience I've ended up with the. Took my truck here for an insurance job , it sat for 2 and a half weeks because the owner sent an email and waited instead of calling the numbers provided, then I had to call to get the ball rolling( not my job) 2 days later my truck is done , I pick it up and didn't really go over it until the next day , work was done poorly and not up to a custom shops standards, parts put on backwards and not lined up, pieces coming loose, a very poor job , I would never let someone's car leave my shop like that and risk my reputation as a custom auto shop , I would have been better going to earl schieb next door read more
