Love this place. I normally wear protective styles (braids, crochet, weave, etc) but the stylist is never able to cut the hair into the shape. I want. This is my third review. My wife and I originally found this salon for my 95 year old (at the time) mom. She was always well-treated, and received complements on her cut. My mom has since passed on at age 100, but my wife and I are still customers of Karmin. Her cuts are consistently fine, so there's no reason to change. I've had my hair cut here around 10 to 12 times. Half the time, the haircut is uneven, the stylist does not listen to (or remember) how I want my hair cut. This place is mostly good. Great prices. (They only take cash). No appointment necessary. And the staff are usually very friendly. They say things like "thank you for coming", "Thank you for your business", etc. Which is nice to hear. But once in a while some of them can be a little snippy with their communication. They usually do a very good job on my hair. But I think when my hair doesn't come out the way I requested it's because of the language barrier. The staff almost all have accents, some stronger than others, and sometimes don't seem to grasp what you are saying, because English is not their first language. So if you want a specific style, I would bring a photo rather than try to explain it. There is a big Armenian flag on the wall. Which is fine. But no American flag in sight. Which kind of bothers me a bit. This is America after all. And they are all employed in America. read more

Worst experience ever!!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I went to get my hair colored. I showed them the picture I wanted, silver/grey. The first look they gave me was their version on "grey" which looked like an old woman with purple hair. They said it was my request. So they showed me the color chart which was purple. Then they decided to make it lighter, which is the picture I attached. The lady said, " I don't know why it's looking like that cause we have done many men's hair and it came out different". That's BS. They told me to wash it and it would get lighter, and to come back in 2 weeks to bleach it. Hell No!!! Time wasted and I look like grape ape. AND I didn't pay for it. read more

My mom is a low maintenance sort of women and would never dare spend nearly as much as I do when I go to the salon, she wanted to go to super cuts and I was try something different.. so I found this place on Yelp. I wasn't sure if it was a men's only haircut place or for everyone so we drove past and there was ladies getting a trim so in she went, they lightly damped her hair, she got a layered trim , no blow dry or style and was out in less then 10 minutes for my mom that's worth the price of $8.00 Everyone was very nice and polite, it's straight haircuts, no products for sale, no thrills, just a cut and a smile. read more

Really, it's only $9 for a haircut?! Yah, this place is a really no frills. I don't even know if they take appointments. LOL But they must be good, or just really cheap, because this place is always busy. So, what is it? It's good and cheap. LOL There are 2 lines of chairs with Armenian women cutting hair. Well, I believe most of them are, if not all. The woman running the place will ask you what kind of cut do you want when you walk in. Apparently some women are better than others when it comes to different styles. I wanted layers. So, there were only certain woman who could do it. I've been here several times (when hair cuts were $8) and I get what I want - layers and side swept bangs. No complaints. Tell the woman specifically what you want. Then they wet your hair with a spray bottle and cut away. They will blow dry your hair slightly to blow away the cut hair but not style it. That's all extra. I'm ok with that because that's obviously how the costs stay down. It's located in a small plaza and if you can't find parking there is street parking. I don't know if they accept credit cards because I have always paid in cash. I feel bad that I never catch a name from the women who have cut my hair but I haven't been disappointed yet. First off, let me say, I have gone both routes when it comes to a hair cut. I have had the super expensive haircut from a super fancy salon and I have had my $10 hair cut from New Image cuts which is just as fancy, really. New image NEVER disappoints. I can't say the same about other salons I have gone to and that is usually because of location and time. The great thing about new image is I never have to wait long because they have about 8-10 employees working at a time. The max I have waited is probably 10-15 minutes. By the way, the salon is always clean, the waiting area is always clean and stocked up with magazines just in case you leave your phone in the car. Karmen very recently cut my hair and she was so sweet and attentive. I appreciated the way she made sure I was okay with the length of my hair a few times while she was cutting my hair. I recommend this salon to everyone, male or female. The hair dressers are experienced and have been employed there a long time which tells you a lot about the owner and the salon itself. One more thing, they only take cash. No cards. There is a Bank of America across the street and an ATM machine in the 711 next door. read more

I came here 4months ago and had a great cut. This time it was terrible. I came back the day after and asked to have my sides evened out, the lady in the front right chair must have been mad that I complained about her cut since she took off almost two inches on my left side. Now I have side bangs :( my hair is ruined. I'll have to go to another salon to have my hair fixed. Asked for a blunt cut got a ton of short layers. If your looking for a female cut avoid this place, it's not worth it. Takes months to grow back & now I will be having a short hairstyle. Goodbye mid length hair, I will miss you.
