I got another great haircut today! I was surprised to find that I did not write a review yet. So, here it is! Before I found the New Image Cuts I was going to a downtown high end salon and then to a salon in Beverly Hills following my hairdresser after she changed her location. I had to schedule my appointment two weeks in advance and drive in traffic. On the top of it, not every haircut came out right either. I asked around and the New Image Cut was highly recommended by a friend. I will be always grateful to her for that. The New Image Cuts is a real gem! Lida, the owner is the sweetest person and very knowledgeable! Rebecca cuts my hair and she is the best! I can rely on both for advice because they have an excellent taste. Every haircut is perfect! I have curly/wavy hair which require an expertly done cut. I am coming here for the last 3-4 years and could not imagine going anywhere else. No advanced scheduling is required and the cost is multiple times less than I paid previously for a lower quality haircut at an expensive salon. I am always looking forward to seeing Lida and Rebecca. It feels like vising good friends and leaving looking great! read more

I visited this salon to get a haircut . First off the staff was amazing and nice and greeted me as soon as I walked in . After waiting less than 5 minutes , I was greeted by a woman to get my cut . This is an average of the two times I have visited. The first time I visited, I was very happy with the results. I have had bad haircuts before, and being on a budget right now, I can't afford the expensive salons. I read the reviews, and I decided to try it out. I was very pleased with my cut. Very cute, and my bangs were done well. I don't have a difficult style, just long simple layers and side swept bangs. The second time I went in started off just fine, until halfway through the cut I noticed that the "trim" turned into a full on cut. I wanted maybe a quarter inch off and the next thing I know my hair which was halfway down my chest was now to my shoulders (still wet, so you give another inch once dry)...and my bangs...I left in a panic hoping that maybe once I get home and style them myself they won't be too bad. Nope! She cut my bangs SO SHORT that my once side swept bangs are now full on across the forehead blunt bangs. I don't pull off the look very well. After styling my hair, I noticed that not only were my bangs not cut evenly, neither was the right side of my head. My hair looked like it had been hacked with a machete. I walked into this place wanting the exact hair style I had, just a tad shorter and cleaned up...I walked out with half my hair cut off and these hideous bangs. Looks like I will be using a bobby pin for the next few weeks. :( I do not know if I will try this place again. My first time I was very happy with the cut, but once a girl has been traumatized, it's hard to give it another go. I wish I knew the name of the woman I had, but I don't. I can't even remember what the first woman looked like even if I wanted to go back. Guess this place is hit or miss. Unfortunately today was a big miss! :-/ Also, the parking here sucks. First thing I asked the lady not to do is cut my hair straight across and that's the first thing she did. I clearly asked her 3x to Plz not cut it straight across like if a 5yr old did it. I got a great haircut here last weekend for only $8! I got a trim and my bangs cut all for only $8. It's a bit disorganized in here, but the cheap price makes up for it. There's enough stylists, too, so you can get in and out pretty fast, I was in and out within an hour and a half. Most being either 4 or 5 stars, I knew I couldn't go wrong here...plus you can't beat $8 for a hair cut. I was recommend to see Carmen for my hair cut. Once I walked in at checked at the front desk I told the lady there I would like Carmen to be my Stylist and right away I went to her station. Used to be $8 but now they are $9. I have been going back to them for the past 14 years!!! In all these years I never saw this place empty! Even thou that they have at least 5/6 people working, expect to be seated for 5-10 min. I always wait more because I have a favorite barber that cuts my hair and she is so good that I would even wait 1 hour for her! They have 10 chairs to cut hair and 5 more for coloring and all the other stuff that ladys would do which I would never figure out loll. They are highly recommended!!! I came in today for a trim, and to have my shaved side touched up. I asked the stylist repeatedly not to shave a particular area of my head (side burn area) and she assured me she wouldn't - only to shave right over it a moment later. This repeated itself 5 TIMES as she gradually used shorter hair clipper guards. Each time as she changed clipper guards, I reminded her to please not trim my side burn. And yet, with each pass she ran the clippers over exactly where I asked her not to. And as she did it, she clucked her tongue at me like I was overreacting and reassured me she wasn't touching it. There are plenty of stylists available that are ready to take walk-ins, no reservation needed. They have a flat $9 rate for any hair, which is pretty awesome. My boyfriend was the one that got his hair cut, and it turned out great. We have tried out other places similar to New Image Cuts and it never turned out this good. They're super fast and efficient. His lines were really clean and the style came out just like he wanted. The girl that cut his hair only asked how short, and she somehow managed to cut his hair like he normally would have elsewhere. It's not a typical hair cut and his hair showed no sign of how it should have been cut so this impressed us. Pretty cool! She did think that this was a change for him, which we thought was funny since he gets it like this all the time. I would totally recommend this place, not just for price! They have no idea how to cut hair. They have very minimal experience. Ida cut my hair and it was literally the worst haircut I have gotten in my life. Save yourself a headache and don't come here to get your haircut. I am such a fool because I did not do my research on this business before hand. Also, I actually believed they would give a decent haircut for $12. I was very wrong and I will make sure to not repeat the same mistake a second time. The business literally mentioned that the owner taught the hair stylists on her own which most likely means that they did not go to cosmetology school themselves. I quote their business, "Lida (owner)... hair stylists whom she has personally trained herself. New Image Cuts offers $12 hair cuts." Furthermore, the reason why they charge $12 for haircuts is because the hair stylists have been taught by the owner how to cut hair instead of attending a certified cosmetology school and obtaining a certificate from there. Being taught by a person who may or may not be qualified is less than and NOT equal to actually going to a certified cosmetology school and getting certified. The reason why the owner and staff are so nice is because that is one of the methods they use to cover-up the fact that they are unskillful. It would be best if they just closed down the store because of the reasons I mentioned above and because of the fact that they are so phony. read more

Ok, so the first 3 or 4 times I came in, I thought this place was excellent. I get buzz cuts, so I get haircuts frequently, so I need it cheap. What better deals than 8 dollar haircuts? I thought the first couple times, everyone was very efficient and professional. Not chatty and putting on airs, but very straightforward. Just today, however, I got someone who was just sloppy. I asked for a "number one on the side and number two on top." Before she started she asked "No. 2 on the side and 4 ontop right?" So I corrected her. And she handled my head very quickly and violently...another sign of danger. When I get home and take a shower, I realized she got it wrong. Not only that, but it was completely a rush job, hairs sticking out everywhere. And she also left my face pretty messy with hair everywhere...the rest of the ladies are usually clean about this, but I must've gotten the bad apple. Not only that, but she kept cutting my sideburns shorter and shorter when she tried to even it out, without asking me if it's ok, and it's waay shorter than I wanted. I'd give this place a higher rating, but it really depends on who you get. read more

The whole staff is extremely friendly, especially the owner! I get very nervous when it comes to cutting my hair because it is very thick and curly. My hair always comes out perfect after every cut and they have amazing prices! Only $10 for an amazing haircut no matter the length of your hair. For $8, you'll be amazed at the haircut you receive. Of course, it's not as good as a $25 or $40 haircut, but it's probably the best $8 haircut you'll ever get. The only downside is sometimes feeling a little unwelcome. While the receptionist is usually very friendly, some of the stylists aren't. And I got the feeling that us Anglo-Saxons aren't liked very much, which is typical for many Glendale businesses. However, some stylists don't act like that and are friendly. This is a great place for haircuts. I came in on a Monday morning, right around lunchtime. It wasn't super busy but seats were filled and they greeted me right when my foot crossed the door. I was seated within 2 seconds. My hair was proabaly at the small of my back. Very long. I wanted to cut it 2 inches from my shoulder. Most salons would charge $25 or $40 due to length, but they charged only $8. They won't shampoo or blow dry unless you ask. I just wanted a simple layered cut. When we were done, the amount of hair that she cut off could make a wig. But they still just charged me $8. It's cash only, but I was more inclined to pay more because they did such a great job. Wow, not sure how I missed out on this little gem! The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I walked in on a Friday afternoon and immediately got an open seat. They have a large staff so someone is always available when you walk in. In the rare case that they're all busy, a seat opens up very quick! I got the exact cut that I asked for. The pricing is unbeatable. Hair cut prices are rising just like everything else but this place still keeps their pricing super reasonable at just $9. I had a great experience overall. I'm standing right outside this " hair cutting " place as I write this review ... Went there since it was recommended by someone I know ... Obviously they are very limited in their skill -- can only cut and trim hair that is straight and minimal!!! Preferably men, ladies with thin scanty hair, kids and ideally bald people !! I've been to salons earlier-- and have never witnessed such an unprofessional attitude !!! The lady literally pulled my hair out!! If you are a really good hair Salon- you would be able to cut and trim any kind of hair !!!! And no the owner does not care if you are a happy or dissatisfied customer !! Great place to get a hair cut. Only $8!!! I have been going there since 2003 and have never stopped because of the great service and the quality of work.
