i called this salon around 12 pm, booking a same day appointment for 1:30 pm, and upon my arrival,…read moreonly waited around 5 minutes before getting seated in one of their chairs. prior to my haircut, my hair was waist length, and afterwards, is now chest length. i asked Dina, who cut my hair, to cut off roughly 3 inches, requesting her to focus on removing dead hair/split ends. i specifically informed her that i enjoy keeping my hair long. in spite of this, a whopping minimum 6 inches was cut off. if you're someone like me who enjoys keeping their hair long, i would highly recommend getting your hair cut somewhere else. the pricing for a women's haircut is $35 before tip, which is more affordable than other salons, but this price point may come with certain sacrifices, such as not having your specific hairstyle requests fulfilled.

I have stick straight hair that has zero volume and the videos and pictures I was seeing of Liya's beautiful work was so exciting! My day arrived and I was super excited. Side note, I am currently dealing with some heavy personal things at home, so having this to look forward to was a breath of fresh air. This will come into play in this review in a moment. I arrived for my appointment, Liya looked at my hair and did tell me my hair was very fine and that I had some damage at the ends. I knew these things, so it wasn't a shock. She did a cut to remove those damaged ends and then her assistant took me to wash my hair. During that wash the assistant asked me some questions about my hair because she was seeing some damage that was concerning to her. She finished the wash and took me back to the chair. Liya came back, she spoke with the assistant, and then Liya showed me the parts of my hair that the assistant was concerned about. She was very kind and apologetic, but told me that she would not feel comfortable giving me the perm with the damage they were seeing. It was more apparent now while my hair was wet. She didn't see it as much when she did the dry cut. Of course I was disappointed, but I was not upset with Liya for making this call. As a matter of fact, I was very appreciative that she was willing to be honest with me and not just take my money. Here's where my personal issues came into play. My level of disappointment combined with stress and sadness I was already feeling caused me to cry. I was trying to hold it in, but I kind of failed. Liya again apologized, I tried to explain that I was okay and I wasn't upset with her or blaming her. I told her I was grateful for her honesty. This is why I write this review. I hope that Liya reads it or at least gets the message. While I am very sad to have not been able to experience her beautiful work on my own hair, I am so thankful that she is a person of respect, integrity, and honesty. She did not charge me for the cut and the wash either. If you are looking to visit Liya at TT Salon, I highly recommend her! She is not just out there taking people's money because of a popular trend. I am hopeful that one day I can go back and get that perm, Liya! I'm going to work on some hair repair and we'll see what happens! Thank you for your kindness yesterday. I am sorry if I made you feel like I was upset with you in any way. I certainly was not!

Booking online was super easy. You can choose the service, hairstylist, and see their earliest available appointments. I decided to just go with any available stylist and was booked with Tony. I was hoping for the best, and he gave me exactly the waves I was looking for. The process was about 5 hours, but honestly, I love waking up with effortless beach waves every day, so it was worth it! Several people helped with washing and styling throughout the appointment, and everyone was so kind and welcoming. They even offer snacks and water during the service, which I thought was such a nice touch. The owner, who is also a stylist, was really nice as well. Plus, there's a huge free parking lot, which made the whole experience even more convenient. I'll definitely be recommending TT Hair Salon to all my friends, and to you reading this

She was already in Taiwan for additional hair training and would respond to me, going back and forth between me and Ken. And mind you, this is before Lunar New Year, when most people would get their haircut! My day started right at opening time (10am) with a haircut. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he just went with it. I will say this honestly: I've never liked my haircut this much. Why did it take me 40 years??? Anyway, we then had my hair washed and started with the first round of bleach around 11am, and then touch up. By 1pm, I decided to eat my lunch. I came prepared this time! Quick story: 9 years ago, I had no idea this type of hair procedure would take all day, and therefore did not bring lunch. Ken and Kristie fed me lunch! They are the best people, I swear. Anyway, after a rinse, we did another round of bleach with touch ups. I made it more difficult for Ken because I had dyed my hair a darker shade to cover my greys. I'm so sorry Ken! By 4pm it was no COLORING TIME! Ken started with the purple roots, then added the silver to the rest, with rounds of touching up. 5:30pm is when we did our last round of wash, then blow dry and a bit of styling. After a quick photo session, I was out by 6pm! I really appreciate them both for making this work, especially when I took up an entire day. Ken and Kristie are the best, and I will travel back to LA the next time I'd like my hair done again. Thank you SO much again Ken and Kristie!

She was at Salon Blue in Hacienda Heights and, after everyone else there disappointed me, I tried Gaby out and haven't stopped seeing her since. My mom and I go. We both have fine, thin hair. My mom's tends to be frizzy and mine usually lifeless and straight. My mom gets highlights and lowlights. I usually just get a cut/style and extensions. Color: sometimes it's a hit or miss but Gaby always fixes it. She will ask and ask and ask if that is how you want it. Cut: Once, like 4 years ago, she gave my mom too many layers and she looked like a mushroom head. We told her and it never happened again and now we laugh about it. I'm always happy with my cut. Again, she will ask and ask and ask if you're happy with it. She takes her time. Styling: she doesn't rush. She puts product in your hair, asks if you're going anywhere special that day, how you want it, if you want it straight or curled or blow dried full and voluminous, etc. If you're in a rush, she will get her team to surround you and there's like three curling irons on your head and you're out quick! Fast! Extensions: I AM SO HAPPY WITH EXTENSIONS FROM NEW LOOK SALON. I've had them sewn, braided in and glued. No matter what, they've always been great! And I've always gotten a very good deal on extensions. The best extensions are here. Atmosphere: It's right across the street from king taco. Yum! It's clean and Leti is always sweeping. All that to say that Gaby does a fantastic job with her clients and that you'll probably become her friend because she is so great at keeping New Look customers happy, feeling good and feeling pretty. During my visit, I was subjected to what I found to be intimidating and physically aggressive behavior by a male stylist. The incidents included: Hostility: An aggressive response to a simple question about parking. Physical Force: Unnecessary force used to push my head down during a hair wash. Physical Contact: Most alarmingly, while my hair was being dried, the stylist intentionally struck the side of my face three times with his hand to knock my earbud out. Management's Response: When I finally confronted him and stated that this behavior was unacceptable, his demeanor shifted instantly from aggressive to a forced smile. The owners were present and witnessed the tension, but rather than addressing the stylist's behavior, they simply brushed the situation off by having a female worker take over the service. The Reason Given: The female worker later informed me that the male stylist acted this way because he "didn't want to do" the hair dye treatment, as he felt it was too much work--even though it was his turn and he had not refused the service. It is completely unacceptable for a customer to be subjected to physical aggression and hostility simply because a staff member is unhappy with their work assignment. Because a salon environment requires being in close proximity to a stylist, safety is paramount. The lack of accountability and the physical boundary violations I experienced make this a business I can no longer trust or recommend.

She literally did everything opposite of what I said she did a V cut when I said straight she took off like 10 inches when I told her to take off 4, she did layers alll over her hair when I only asked for layers in the front to frame her face. Everything was completely wrong. I literally cried when I was telling her, what did you do? I was getting tears in my eyes because my daughter's beautiful, thick hair was gone and she thinned it out. To top it off! So now my daughter literally has a tiny bit of hair a little bit compared to what she had. Do not go there, do not please. If you really care about your long hair. Do not go to that salon. They will not listen to what you say they'll do what they want. And they don't care and to top it off. I still paid her. I shouldn't have paid her a dime, but I didn't want to be rude. And I still paid her the $35 for that cut, because she could have charged me more. But she knew she messed up, and when I was confronting her about it, she had nothing to say she was quiet. The whole time BEWARE! I'M LITERALLY GONNA CALL THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND REPORT HER. SHE SHOULD NOT BE CUTTING HAIR IF THIS IS WHAT SHE DOES TO HER CUSTOMERS AND INTENTIONALLY RUINS PEOPLE'S HAIR!!!!!
