I am sharing this to warn others of a serious safety and professionalism issue I experienced at this salon. During my visit, I was subjected to what I found to be intimidating and physically aggressive behavior by a male stylist. The incidents included: Hostility: An aggressive response to a simple question about parking. Physical Force: Unnecessary force used to push my head down during a hair wash. Physical Contact: Most alarmingly, while my hair was being dried, the stylist intentionally struck the side of my face three times with his hand to knock my earbud out. Management's Response: When I finally confronted him and stated that this behavior was unacceptable, his demeanor shifted instantly from aggressive to a forced smile. The owners were present and witnessed the tension, but rather than addressing the stylist's behavior, they simply brushed the situation off by having a female worker take over the service. The Reason Given: The female worker later informed me that the male stylist acted this way because he "didn't want to do" the hair dye treatment, as he felt it was too much work--even though it was his turn and he had not refused the service. It is completely unacceptable for a customer to be subjected to physical aggression and hostility simply because a staff member is unhappy with their work assignment. Because a salon environment requires being in close proximity to a stylist, safety is paramount. The lack of accountability and the physical boundary violations I experienced make this a business I can no longer trust or recommend. read more

I tried to give this place a second chance but this is the second time they cut my hair way too short I told her to cut off 1in and she went way over that, probably cut about 4in in total I am soo sad because now my hair is so short it looks horrible! They do not listen and will cut more off than what you want just stay away!! read more

I came here because my usual stylist is out of town. Judy cut my hair and my sons hair. Judy was pretty silent during the whole time she saw us and didn't smile at all. It felt like she didn't want to be there, and my presence was bumming her out. I tried to keep an open mind since I didn't know if anything terrible happened to her that day. She would not let me watch her give my son a haircut, which has never happened. She shooed me away, saying I'm making him cry and making things hard for her. I wanted her to at least try to do a decent job, so I walked away. She ended up giving him an uneven cut. When it was my turn, she cut my hair with nothing but a blade, which is absolutely awful for your hair and gives people split ends. I asked her if she needed scissors, and she said this was fine. My cut was also uneven. I don't know who hurt Judy that day, and I hope she's not always like this, but I never want her near my hair or my son's hair again. I hope she's doing better now. read more

Yvonne quoted me $25 for a haircut and shampoo a month ago. When I came in with my daughter today, she said $30. Ok....it's been a month already so I agreed. When the other lady was in the middle of washing my daughter's hair, she came and told her it should be $35 for a cut and shampoo. This place is a hidden gem for hair salons! Everyone here is very friendly. Came in on a Saturday with an appointment to see Yvonne and the salon was very busy (they accept walk-ins). I usually pay ~ $100 for cut and color, but here, I only paid $60 ($55 + $5 tip) for cut, color, and styling! They really take their time with their clients to ensure the best result possible. I live in Burbank, so coming here is a bit of a drive for me, however with the price and quality, it's totally worth it to drive out here. P.S. they also do waxing and facials here. :) read more

They really take their time from start to finish. During the shampooing, they give a nice head massage that is super relaxing. They proceed to cut hair meticulously with detail and care. Thanks to all the yelpers, I decided to give this place a chance. I was hesitant at first but decided to wing it. Since I only wanted to cut 2 inches off, I didn't want to spend $50 dollars for it. It wasn't worth it for me. My theory was if the haircut was bad, my hair can always grow back or go get it fixed elsewhere. Plus my mom and her friend got their hair done here, how bad can it be? When I walked in, I asked for Phuong. Luckily I knew the language they were speaking which made it easier. Like the yelpers suggested, I went with the wash and the cut. Phuong washed and massaged my hair. Don't be scared to let her know if she's hurting you. She's very receptive. After washing my hair, she proceeded to cut. She took her time and carefully cut my hair. When more customers came, she did not rush but continue cutting my hair at the same pace, which I appreciate. She also styled my hair when she finished, which is definitely a plus. Usually at other places, styling cost extra or they don't style at all. For $18, I was able to get a good haircut, head massage, and styling. That's definitely an awesome deal. This place is great! Came in on a Friday noon time, no wait. One of the ladies got to work on my hair right away. I came in with the intention of getting my long locks trimmed and all my split-ends cut off, maybe styled into layers a little bit. I didn't get a chance to catch the lady's name but she did a great job and took her time with my hair making sure every layer was even. She kept checking in with me to make sure it was at the length and look I wanted. After she blew dry my hair into style. For reference: I have asian straight hair that was all the way to my belly. i read reviews from other yelpers and thought to myself what the heck, it can't be that bad because everyone's reviews were spaced out and they all give this place 5 stars. however, i can't say that I would recommend this place to be honest. lammy was the one that cut my hair. i showed her a picture of carrie underwood that had lots of layers and side sweep bangs. it was a photo she had in one of her books. she did a great job on washing my hair because she asked if i wanted her to scratch harder or lighter. she took her time. one of the longest hair washes i've ever had. so she first combed my hair. then layered my hair. as she moved on to the bangs. she started cutting it straight. i requested if she could blow dry it prior to cutting it. she did not and kept cutting. i asked again and then finally she did. lets just say the layers are great. but the bangs are not. it just kept getting shorter and shorter. and finally i said never mind. i was not a happy camper leaving here. im hoping and praying that the bangs grow out super fast! What i did like is she does use a straightener to style the finish product of my hair like how i would do it at home. 19 bucks for my hair cut plus tip. the whole bang situation made me not want to come back. tips: *Cash only. *Plenty of shared parking spots. *3 staff works here [2 females & 1 male]. *they speak vietnamese, chinese, and limited english. *located in the same plaza as yummi chinese fast food and behind shirper elementary. *staff didnt really smile. *its not a super fancy place and staff are dressed like super casual and wore out of fashion type of stuff. they also didn't style their hair. just in case if you care about those things. if you do, this is not the place to go. read more

Also went in for the third time to get a full set of highlights... $40...They came out good except that the lady who did them doesn't wrap the foil close enough to the scalp. Which was a little irritating for me because I know how she's supposed to properly fold the foils and she just folded them once upward , so they felt loose .. The only part that looks good is the top layer, which is ok I guess. Another disclaimer is that I wanted her to use a toner which she didn't . I asked if she was planning to use one and she said only if I needed it . The highlights look a lil yellow so I thought they needed to be toned but she didn't. So now I have to buy a toner myself and finish the job . I can't complain much though because it was only $40 . I normally do my own hair , but sense this process included bleach , I didn't want to mess up my hair ... With that said, you get what you pay for . read more

Judy was so precise and took her time making sure everything was even in my hair she listened to every single detail that I wanted to do my hair and I had a lot of details lol she cut my bangs perfectly I was so nervous that they would be too short or cut unevenly but she did a great job and she did a great job also framing my face with my side pieces because I have a chubby face my face looks so much slimmer now! A friend of mine recommended this place and I've always put it off since I'm sort of a creature of habit. One day though, I woke up and was tired of being weighed down by my hair and decided to chop it all off. I searched for different hair cuts for medium-length hair on Pinterest and finally decided on one. I walked into Lammy's Hair Salon on a hot, Friday morning. I didn't have an appointment and was ready to wait however long it took to see Phuong. As soon as I walked in, I saw that she was working on a perm for an older lady. The place was packed and it was just 10:30 a.m. Phuong asked if I wanted a wash and cut ($15), or just a cut. Remembering the conversation I had with my friend, I decided on a wash and cut. I. AM. SO. GLAD. I. DID. Phuong's (20 minute) head massage was AMAZING to say the least. My scalp was very clean afterwards; there weren't any oils weighing my hair down. She then proceeded to cut my hair. She is very fast and efficient. After my cut, she blow dried my hair. I've never had so much volume in my life. My hair looked great and I seriously felt like I lost 3 pounds of hair. Seeing that my encounter was coming to an end, I asked Phuong if she can tone my hair. You see.. I have a full head of highlights, but the last time I visited a salon was in May (4 months ago). My highlights have since faded and the beautiful, rich brown color has disappeared and the blonde was making a comeback. Phuong explained that toning my hair would be the same price as color. I told her that's fine and she proceeded to create the mix. She toned my hair and I absolutely loved it. The toner treated my hair so that it was soft and silky. And for $40, it was a steal! Just went back this past Sunday (11-07-2010) There were 4 of us girls getting our hair done and they didn't rush us at all. They even stayed after to finish my cousins hair, which took forever. haha. I got my blonde highlights covered, got new dye done to my hair, AND a haircut on top of that for a reallly low price. Want a really cheap hair cut? Come here! I paid only $15 to get my hair cut about 2-3 inches. A shampoo wash and blow dry was included as well. There is something I would like to point out though. My hair stylist washed my hair about three times. Maybe even four times. She also scratch my scalp vigorously, which I did not like.
