I think we may have just stumbled upon our new go-to Indian spot! We just moved here and have been looking for a place to replace our Bay Area and LA darlings. Popped in for a quick dinner and walked away impressed. Here's what we had: Malai Kofta (5/5) An all time favorite of mine, and the version here was a surprise! It was quite different from the malai kofta I'm used (closer to a tikka masala type sauce), but this one was served in a yellow sauce with nuts. It had that sweet, creaminess that I love and I was absolutely impressed! While the fried balls were slightly better at other spots, the exceptional sauce more than made up for it. Chef's choice Uttapam (4/5) A first for us, and we enjoyed it. We got a trio of uttapam, each topped differently: tomato chili and onion, peas and greens, carrots. Peas and green was our favorite of the three. Think of a slightly sour, savory pancake. The lentil soup and tomato sauce it came with was forgettable, but the green sauce was great. Gulab Jaman (5/5) I've tried this a few times at other places and it was always okay to me. The version I had here was delicious. Fried doughnut balls in a warm syrup sauce. Cue happy dance. Rose milk (4/5) Pleasant, but a more pronounced rose flavor would have made it perfect. Tonight's dinner was a delight. We're eager to return and try their mint masala (chef's special), tikka masala, and palak paneer. read more

We make the 40 min drive here because the food is outstanding!! Everything we have tried is the epitome of fresh, flavorful, and nourishing - we actually feel enlivened by the end of our meal. We love the bhindi masala (okra), baingan barta (eggplant), veg biryani. The chicken was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy with plenty of flavor. The chicken tikka masala was the best I've tasted in a long time, perfectly seasoned, good amount of chicken and a perfect medium spice level. You could ask for spicer but I like a medium. The malai kofta was nice and creamy with a hint of sweetness. We were ok with butter on our garlic naan and it was soo delicious... crispy, fluffy and plenty of garlic! We ordered 1 order and it was a perfect amount for me and my husband. Was craving chicken biryani and we swung by here on our way home. SUCH an incredible find!! It's a mom and pop type restaurant with friendly, welcoming staff; has a casual atmosphere and is lightly decorated. Think of it as a local community place where family can gather and have a great meal without pressure. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted and while it was slightly busy, we were seated right away. We were treated to complimentary veggie somosas, and water as soon as we were at our table. We ordered chicken curry, chicken biryani, chicken kebab, mango lassi, and garlic naan; the flavors were all so good but the chicken curry won my heart, it was absolutely delicious. We've tried this restaurant several times now and it has been consistently great food. I always forget to take pictures. Went yesterday and had the tandoori chicken, lamb saag (lamb and spinach) and a garlic naan. The chicken came out on a sizzling platter and had great flavor and a good amount of spice. The lamb was so tender it melted in your mouth. The garlic naan is always soft and garlicky. My mom is an old Indian lady and rarely likes food she hasn't cooked. I recently dined at here and was quite disappointed with the portion sizes. For the price they charge, I expected much more. My chicken tikka was barely enough to satisfy. The quality was good, but the small serving left me feeling like I paid a premium for a snack rather than a meal. Excellent service and great food. We had the Palak Paneer and the Mushroom Mutter Marsala. Both were creamy and delicious. The helpings were large and reasonably priced and we took about a third of our food home. The Basmati rice was perfect. Not very good food under the new ownership/name/management/cooking. Just okay. Most of their Punjabi curries seem to have the same cream sauce; there is zero or minimal variation. The koftas in their malai kofta were hard. Their palak paneer was bland, with an overly creamy/buttery mouthfeel from the sauce, despite asking for medium spiciness. Dosa was too dark brown (soft and overdone) and didn't have much taste. The masala was too bland, despite asking for medium spicy masala. Samosa and gol gappa were decent. Batata vada was good. Basically their Punjabi food and South Indian food are not very good. The service is polite, but still a little stiff - perhaps because the service staff are new. I think they mean very well. No complaints. The owner asked for a five-star review. To be fair, he didn't offer anything in return, which is very good. I prefer if people let me decide how many stars I want to give. I think it is okay to say, "we would appreciate your review on Yelp." I will definitely visit again in a few months to see if there are improvements. read more
