After a lovely morning hike we decided on Mediterranean for lunch. This caught my eye as a vegetarian/vegan place to check out. Plenty of parking. A little tough to find the entrance to the restaurant--enter The Body studio main door in the middle of the building, and then the restaurant is nestled to the far back and left of the front desk. Low mood lighting makes it hard to read the menus but you can use your smartphone flashlight. Great service with in-depth explanation of each dish. We ordered the signature traditional tajine, the mezze platter, and a plant-based chicken shawarma plate with potato chips. I enjoyed a dirty chai and a family member enjoyed a Kacha'va superfoods smoothie with chocolate. A delicious vegetarian/vegan Mediterranean feast! I enjoyed the different spices, textures, and flavors in the mezze platter and tajine. Plan to spend $30 plus per person if you get a beverage. read more

This is a major hidden gem of Santa Fe -- perhaps our best meal after living here for a month. We had the Mezze for 2 and the Tajine for 2, and both had wonderful flavors and a variety of spices without being hot spicy (though you could add harissa if you wanted to). We're normally big meat eaters but we're very, very happy with the vegetarian dishes here. The Mezze came with falafel, eggplant, salad (outstanding flavor), hummus, and very good hot pita bread. The Tajine was a delectable and we loved the presentation of it in the traditional clay pot. It had slow cooked vegetables (carrots, zucchini, sweet potatoes, etc) and was partially sweet with dates. But the highlight was the Moroccan mint tea, served traditionally in glasses and poured from high up. I haven't had tea that good in awhile (and yes I go to the Teahouse). Warning -- this is a BYOB restaurant, so bring your bottle of wine with you (and save money). Will definitely return. read more

Wow. What a different experience we had this time. In both cases, we ordered for pickup. But this time, instead of a warm, inviting platter and doughy warm pita, we got a cold, unaromatic platter obviously just pulled out of the fridge, and dry, hard hummus. The plastic platter itself was ice cold to the touch. It took a half hour, and what was done was a platter was yanked out of the fridge at the last moment. If we'd been at home, we might have been able to salvage things by popping the bread in the toaster oven and heating some of the platter items to room temperature. But we were in a hotel, not a home. Had I gotten this in an airport or a gas station, my rating would have been a 5. It's pretty good if you just expect an edible crudité platter. (Though I have had better pita ... everywhere.) From one of the highest rated restaurants in Santa Fe, one that had impressed us previously, this meal was appallingly bad, incredibly overpriced (because it was bad), and a poor reflection of the talent of the chef. When a living meal prepared by a talented chef is handled like leftovers in the fridge not to spoil, you've ruined what would have been a nice experience. read more

Found this hidden GEM today while vacationing in Santa Fe. Everything was delicious and just as it looked online/Yelp reviews. The water they serve you is infused, love that! The pita bread was warm when served and the hummus - wow pretty impressive. The Mediterranean salad is filled with great flavors, one of a kind. The greens power drink was on point. Service was A1 - they were super friendly, accommodating and ensured everything tasted delish. Ambiance is super cozy and I love their aesthetic. Wonderful meld of flavors and ingredients. The mushroom meat is a must. We choose quinoa to accompany the main. Their water was infused with cucumbers and oranges that we didn't need tea. The server - nice and knowledgeable- suggested their teas as they are good for digestion. The chai was spicy and delightful. The tea in a pot - forgot the flavor but it was lightly sweetened with honey and perfect post meal. If you are really hungry, likely you'll want to add an appetizer or dessert. Tajine is probably one of the best places to grab a meal in Santa Fe area. We loved this place so much that we ended up coming here on every single day of our stay in Santa Fe. Below are some highlights of our experience 1. They accept reservations as well as pick-up orders online which makes the entire experience a lot smoother. 2. The food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the Falafel sandwich on all occasions and found it to be flavorful with the right amount of spice. 3. People are obviously loving this place. I'm liking it but some perspective and honesty is needed in these reviews. We ordered the Mezzes plate and a falafel sandwich. Presentation was excellent. Flavors were pretty good. The falafel was super dry, and I asked for a lemon wedge to brighten it up. The Mezzes plate was fun and tasty. Service was not good. We started out with a attentive server but never saw her again. Not to get a napkin, a condiment or even the check. Plates were never cleared, and we had to track down a person to get a check. Basically zero service after ordering. That's a problem. Green tea was $8 a cup which was outrageous, even for Santa Fe. Asked about hot sauce or harissa for some spice and told the it was $4 for the condiment harissa. I did without. Imaging ordering a burger anywhere and being charged $4 for catsup. Same thing. Ridiculous. Presentation is outstanding but prices and service need lots of improvement. read more

10/10 experience Though small, this restaurant does not lack in quality or flavor! It is located in the back of a yoga/spa/clothing boutique which can make it easy to miss! Incredible food and a wonderful experience! I met my sister here for lunch on the way up to Colorado. We shared the sweet and savory tajine. Vegetables slow roasted in a clay pot. It had carrots, dates, potatoes, sweet potatoes, apricots and more, all cooked with Moroccan spices. The quinoa was delicious as well. Service was great and the waitress was helpful. The space that Tajine occupies has had several different chefs and cuisines. However Tajine is the best so far! There is no other healthy clean delicious food like this in Santa Fe. We had the Tajine of the day -- the freshest ingredients and the spices and flavors were superb! The collard green burrito was perfect with a side salad of fresh greens. We finished with a dessert that was out of this world! The spicy chai was also amazing as the fresh pressed green juice. As a vegetarian I've eaten many mezze platters, and this was likely the best. Each part of it had so much unique flavor. Love that everything is vegetarian, and their falafel is air-fried which was delicious and felt so much lighter and healthier than usual falafel. The Moroccan mint tea was delicious, and the presentation of everything was nuanced, detailed and beautiful. The tagine was really beautiful, had a little less sauce/liquid that I'm used to because it overflowed with other ingredients. Would have been nice to be a little soupier. We found this place in a Yelp search. It's only been open three months and there's not really even a sign on the door. It's in the back of the Body of Santa Fe Spa and retail shop which is interesting in itself. The restaurant is small with an eclectic dining set up. The food is vegan Moroccan. This was new to us but we like to try new places when we visit Santa Fe. Everything was delicious. I'd never heard of Tajine dishes but ours arrived sizzling hot in a fragrant clay dish with a plethora of flavors. We had their variety dish and I can't remember what it was called but it had hummus, eggplant, and other things all made fresh and delicious. I can't eat gluten and they had gluten-free pita! We shared two dishes and left full and satisfied. The dirty chai came with almond milk and very good. I suspect this place will start getting busier once more people discover it. We felt the pricing was reasonable especially for the quality of the dishes. We browsed through their retail area and their charming ? manager who had given us a tour earlier managed to get my husband to try on one of their newly arrived organic cotton flannel shirts, which we left with.
