The pita was tougher than I remember and difficult to cut, so much so that the knife cut into the parchment paper the entire dinner sits on. Paper now in the food. Greek salad was good. There was a bit of a language barrier so I'm not sure if I was 100% understood. I got the pomegranate and pistachio turkish delight. TRULY fantastic. I also got the chicken plate. Ended up not eating the bread that came with it. They do have gluten free bread but I wasn't feeling certain that he fully understood what I said so I didn't eat the bread. Sometimes I get a serious hummus craving and no, not all hummus is created equally. Meso Grill has the real deal, velvety, with a strong tahini flavor. I'm not a fan of the Sabra-esque variety that has a somewhat sweet flavor, nor anything that is overly garlicky. I ordered the aforementioned dreamy hummus, along with an excellent Greek salad (I had them leave off the yogurt and feta so that it was 100% vegan as it's dressed with lemon juice and olive oil). Note that they do not have vegan pita bread here. I was impressed that the guy taking my order went to look and made sure without me even asking when I told him that I don't eat dairy. I don't think they understood what vegan or plant-based is but they will make sure to help you out if you tell them exactly which ingredients you avoid. Next time I'm coming for the falafel (but I'll always order the hummus). read more

I should have read Yelp review first before buying from this place. The price was outrageous but what's worse was the owner attitude. He treated me like I was begging to order his food. I should have left from his attitude. Not just me though but other customer as well. Lamb gyro was chewy dried. Buklawa was expensive and sickening sweet. $13 was too much for 4 small pieces even with my California standard. He charged $4 for small Diet Coke bottle. The vibe in the restaurant was depressing. Free sample of baklava was fantastic, the owner makes it fresh every morning. I would have liked the home made Turkish delight sample box but at $12 it felt a bit pricey. They've got three different flavors, and I tried the pistachio one and the pomegranate (third is rose, but I'm just not a rose fan). Love Sawmill Market and decided to try Meso Grill today! Service was friendly and quick. I got the Falafel plate! And it was delicious the falafels were just perfect! Great flavor and texture. Comes with hummus, Tzatziki sauce, and one other sauce that I'm not sure what it's called. A side salad, flat bread and rice. All were delicious and flavored well! Will for sure get again! read more

Being gluten free, I was head over heels to see that they had gluten free baklava. My husband and I drove out of our way so that I could indulge, only to have my hopes dashed. I noticed when I walked up that they had tape over the pricing for the gluten free baklava and asked the cashier when they might have it back in stock. The cashier told me they would likely not ever be bringing it back. Wounded by their words, I walked away empty handed. read more

I love to support local if I can so I'm so sad to say it was horrible. The chicken was hard and rubbery, the rice tasted off, the pita bread was hard and the tzatziki sauce was watery. I was only in town for a day and so sad to have had this experience. I did try a sample of the baklava and that was pretty good. Overall do yourself a favor and try something else, there are a lot of options and for the price your better off getting fast food. I ended up throwing half of it away, wish I could get my money back. Others seem to have had a better experience, perhaps earlier in the day it is better. My food seemed old. read more

So much to consider at Sawmill, but I made a good choice here. I had the falafel plate which did not disappoint. The grilled hatch chili and tomato on the side were awesome and the presentation alone turned a shabby metal tin into a colorful and decorative feast! The hummus and tzatziki were so so but the rest made up for it. The Greek salad had a lot of acid in the dressing so blending with the falafel helped. I'd go back! read more

Thank you to the staff at the Meso Grill, a Middle Eastern Restaurant at the Sawmill's food hall. They gave me a very delicious lunch: A generous container of hummus, toasted pita bread, and a few mildly spiced pickled vegetables on the side. When my tray was ready, I asked if I could have just one olive on top of my hummus. In response, the cook gave me a large serving of delicious, pitted kalamata olives just where I indicated. Went here tonight. Chicken and lamb seasoned the same. Bland and dry. Tzatziki Sauce had no flavor. Greek salad was bitter. Rice was overly salty. Also, the cranky man ringing us up added his own tip without allowing me to even decide. He started to put it for me to add, then grabbed it back. I think he gave himself 20%... Bad food and awful service. Sadly, I spent 5 months in Cyprus eating Mediterranean food. Was at Sawmill yesterday and decided to eat at Meso Grill. I wanted a lamb gyro with a order of hummus. Unfortunately, my order was messed up.. I only received hummus and pita with some pickled veggies.. no gyro. Seemed to have been a language barrier (understandable). When I told them my original order was wrong they told me they would discount the additional order for the Lamb Gyro. I was charged full price.. and the food was frankly not that great to begin with. Pretty bland and not worth all the hassle. Lesson learned, and business lost.. read more

The food is delicious. It's pricy because of the costs associated with Sawmill. However, this is an authentic family owned restaurant. Worth the cost. read more
