    Steak Burrito

3.5 stars******* The burrito was decent but there was nothing particularly notable about it. With tax, the steak burrito was about $15ish, which was slightly annoying because it was relatively small and I was still hungry after. I would only come back again if I was seriously craving a burrito and had nowhere else to go. If the burrito was bigger and cheaper, my review would be higher. The restaurant itself is usually really dark and empty, so you may prefer ordering your food to go. However, there's also a limited amount of outdoor seating.

Barbacoa and lengua tacos: one half of a lime wedge, small amount of meat, lots of lettuce and tomatoes
    Yamy Y.

If you want Americanized Mexican food, this is the best place for it. I had a barbacoa and lengua taco and it was topped with shredded lettuce, tomato and some weird watery white sauce. No cilantro or onions in site on the tacos. Both meats were over cooked, dry and too salty. Also they did not give you any hot sauce (salsa verde or salsa roja) with the tacos or any of the other items I ordered. But they did give me one single half of a lime wedge for both tacos (so generous!). I also got a bierria quesadilla thinking, like all other places that serve bierria tacos/quesadilla/etc that it would come with consommé, but alas you actually have to pay extra for it. The quesadilla was fried to a hard crisp (did I order a Gordita) where consumme' would have saved it in the most forgiving way. Never will I ever order from this place again, especially for the price point. It's not at all cheap for what you actually get. It's really a glorified taco bell. I'd much rather eat a crunch wrap supreme from taco bell for a fraction of the cost than any item I got here. Mew Mexico Mexican food is what you get from here. If you want authentic Mexican food, this is not the place for it.

I'm sorry but I spent $16 and garbage got me sick throwing up and shitting and I've got the receipt

This time I had the mushroom and onion hummus, which was a little watery and only came with one small piece of pita for a large bowl. I also got the fries, which are still actually pretty good. The reason for the steep downgrade aside from the dwindling food quality and the so-so drinks, is the service this time was just ATROCIOUS. Bushwick service has gotten kinda cruddy overall these days because so many places have this transplant hipster vibe where they just can't be bothered, but this guy acted annoyed and put out to even be there. It was not great last time, but this time was astonishingly bad. He took my order and as soon as my food came out, he disappeared behind a screen and didn't come back out unless someone came in the door (which was only a couple times). Never checked on me. Never asked if I wanted another drink (my mint julep was awful, so moot point I guess). I had to wait for him to emerge when a to go order came in for me to flag him down for the check. Probably the last time I come back here.

Staff were nice and attentive. The hummus and falafel plate was good. I really liked the rice and veggies - the flavors paired well. Maybe too much hummus for the portion ratio? Decent price for what you're getting, maybe $40 including tax/tip(?) for two of these plates.

And they taste delicious. I felt like the servings were huge!!! Immediately walking in, I was greeted and sat down. My order was taken quickly too. It was a busy day but my food still came out within 10 minutes. And good thing too because I was starving. I got the pollo arepa and pollo empanada. Looovveee how soft the pollo empanada is... it's so dang fluffy. That was my first time having an empanada with that kind of dough. I have to say that I prefer it. Wish Filipinos used that dough when we make our empanadas. lol. The pollo arepa was everything!!! I had never had an arepa until the day I had one here. The meat was seasoned so nicely in their tomato based sauce. And the actual arepa... soft yet had a bit of a crunch. It was the perfect textures for me. I also enjoyed their soursop juice. It paired perfectly with my meal. My friend got the pernil arepa and was impressed by the taste and the green sauce. I didn't get much information out of him other than it was hitting the spot lol. Definitely a solid place to go in the area. It's kind of medium sized in there but there is plenty of seating if you're with a party no bigger than 3 or 4 people. I think most people come in here for a grab and go situation. But it's cool to hang around to watch the kitchen at work and hear the music.

Being Angelenos, it's VERY hard to find ANYTHING that is open IN-STORE after 10 or 11pm...even on the weekend!! We were so happy to find this establishment while walking between bars and starting to feel very hungry! Also, it doesn't hurt that the pizza here is also EXCELLENT! Having visited L'Industrie earlier in the week, which I absolutely LOVED, I was very pleasantly surprised to find the pizza slices here to be quite comparable in taste, quality, and size. It's also a very bright, open, warm, and welcoming space within. Service was prompt and efficient, if not a tad bit curt...although I give them grace...considering the fact we were visiting late at night around 2am. Anyways...if it was THAT good when we went in the middle of the night...I feel I can confidently recommend this spot as great for grabbing pizza slices. It's definitely worth a visit, in my book!
