They are hit or miss on the quality. They are very rude to customers. I called to make an appointment and there was miscommunication about the time so I tried to clarify that I wanted it later in the day. I was immediately met with attitude on my request for a later time, even though that was the original time I had asked for. Then when I hung up, I got a text from someone in the nail salon at the time, that the lady on the phone was going around talking badly about me. So I cancelled my appointment and won't be returning. I have seen this happen on other occassions to other customers when I have been in the salon. It's a reoccurring theme of not respecting clients and unprofessionalism. So I'm not really a Nails type of gal but I've gone to two other places to get SNS nail polish. The service that I received at this establishment was wonderful. I walked in, they asked me what I wanted, they told me the price and got me right in. I came in late too... but they didn't show any signs of aggravation like most nail shops. Nothing but smiles my! So I went last week, six days ago. I got French dip with the guy at the first desk. The next day one nail had already broken so I went back to have it fixed. I've had a nail break every single day, 2 this morning. So I went back. The man was trying to say it's my fault. That I must type really hard at work A lady took over, she said it's the dip powder, that he shouldn't have put it on with tips. She charged me "only for supplies" to redo the nails. I got French again. The white doesn't cover where it needs to. Considering I've paid over 100$ in less than a week for nails, they should've PERFECTED my set. But she in fact slacked hard. This was one of the worst experiences I've had at a nail shop. The technician rushed through the service. I asked her to cut my nails short and make the oval. She did them short, round and pointy. When I asked her to go back and try to correct it. She told me that she couldn't fix it and asked me to just go somewhere else. She didn't finish the job. She was rude and nasty. With this salon having 3.5 stars I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them out considering it's only 3 minutes from where I live. The staff was extremely polite and tended to me quickly even as a walk in customer. However, they are currently not using regular polish due to covid, only gel. Knowing this I decided to go on with the service even though it would be an up charge. The service was extremely rushed. I don't have a problem with efficiency but my nails came out pretty chunky, and instead of fixing mistakes they were simply filed over, after the gel was applied and cured. Now I have messy edges that already seem like they want to lift. I'm a little upset that I agreed to pay the $33 for a fill in with gel polish and they look like this read more

This lady took a whole hour to polish my nails which would've be okay if they were done correctly. Each nail has a different shape and length. And she made multiple of my nails bleed. This was my first time going to New Modern Nails and I'm positive I'll be back again! May was my nail technician and she did a fabulous job - a $55 job I would've paid $80. May took her time on my Deluxe Pedi and Gel Mani, which consisted of ample amount of foot-scrubbing, masks, massaging, oils, lotion & even paraffin wax! The salon wasn't too crowded when I first walked in at noon on a Saturday, but this was because it was the 4th of July week. Once I sat down just about all pedicure chairs filled up, and yet May kept the same pace while with me. The salon was clean and all staff members seemed to be nice! The salon wasn't one of those fancy salons but it was nice calm and relaxing. I called ahead and they told me it would be no wait time. I was greeted immediately at the door and guided to a nail tech. She helped me pick my nail color and find a matching polish for my toes (which was a perfect match). She was very attentive to me and made sure my nails were perfect. And because it wasn't super fancy the prices were perfect did feel like you were being over charged cuz all the extras in the salon. My experience was great. Just minus on Star cuz I got spoiled having my wine with my service. If they had that it would have been perfect. Overall great experience. I will be back again! Just had the worst experience at a nail salon. A older male nail technician did my nails and i usually get the pink and white fill. He needs another class with filling in the white part and an attitude adjustment. See pic. I told him I didn't like it he said I was picky and they looked better than what I came in with. What???? Really I said. Ok. He said it's not gonna be perfect cause it's not a full set. Smh. I had just the white done and both at the same time from my regular nail technician can't wait till she's off maternity leave so disappointed. Tips on other places I can go hit me up! Two stars for bad attitude and he knew it was bad he told me I didn't have to pay full price. So I didn't pay for the white. Still just messed up. Being as though I've been seeing the same nail tech for two years, I was a little skeptical about seeing someone new. But after relocating from MD to NC, I had no choice. I accidentally stumbled across this place. I am glad I did! My tech was Andy and he was awesome! He took his time and held on a conversation the entire time. He was very gentle when he removed the acrylic from my nails! I was so nervous about this process, but he made it as painless as possible. Every single tech in there was friendly and chatty! I had a wonderful experience. The only downfall is that they do your nails before your feet.. It should be the other way around to prevent messing up your polish. read more

This is my new nail salon! I made an appointment for this morning and asked to have my sns soaked off while doing a pedicure as I would have my baby with me and couldn't do a long appointment. I was told that would be no issue and they didn't lie. I walked in today and Denise took me back for my pedicure. Shane came right over to start on my nails. These women were quick, efficient, and did a great job. Shane even went above and beyond to wash off my little one's pacifier! Shay did my gel manicure and deluxe pedicure and I am extremely impressed with her results and her customer service. She took her time, knew her stuff (products and nail health) and was patient and kind (I can be a pain because I often do my own nails)! The massage for my pedicure was top notch. This salon does good quality work. I have been there twice now and have walked out satisfied both times with my simple manicure with gel powder and gel polish, plus pedicure. However, I only got a solid color and have not asked for any special designs. I have not seen them do designs on other customers either. So, I cannot vouch for that. read more

Absolute worst experience at a nail salon. My friend & I went to get our nails done, where the older man that worked there did mine. He had a very bad attitude & when I asked him to fix the shaping of my nails, he got mad and got nasty. My acrylics now look like crap, and i have cuts on my cuticles. My friend's nails looked like a 5 year old did them. Horrible paint job, shaping & when we went to go pay, the lady who did her nails over charged her by $15.00. Overall the store is very clean and they have great color options. All the techs are nice except the man (Andy) he is HORRIBLE! Unless you need your nails painted and NOTHING more, do not go to him!!! He cannot get the shape right to save his life. My acrylic nails are crooked and shorter than I asked. My coffin shape nails look like bubbles. On top of that he is very rude and has no customer service skills. I hit my nail on the counter and he said "watch out I'm very tired I worked hard today" and it was only noon! He isn't particular and gets mad if you ask him to correct his sloppy work. I just moved here and needed to find a great nail salon.. safe to say this isn't it. My first visit left me with uneven, bumpy, and streaky gel nails. I assumed it was because there was one technician bouncing around to 3 different people. It was extremely rushed. Then, today I decided to give them another chance.. I was told I would be helped next (I was first on the sign in sheet) but ONE HOUR and ten minutes later they sat 2 people that came in 20 minutes after me that *did not* have an appointment. I was looking for a new nail salon and I visited this location 3X. On my 1st visit the older lady that sits at station #0 directly behind the cash register (I think she is the owner) did my acrylic fill-in and I accidentially messed up one of my nails when I was getting up from the chair at her station. I'm disabled and use a cane. The chair was a little lower than I prefer but since I wasn't going to be there very long, I was ok but this older lady fussed at me in her native tongue bcuz she had to fix it. I told her that I would pay extra if it was a problem, she declined and continued to fuss at me . The 2nd time I came in to get an acrylic fill-in on my nails and a polish change/nail trim for my toes and the older lady was very unprofessional and acted as though she needed to scorn me for messing up 1 of my nails on my last visit. I thought that she was just being humorous but she went on and on about it. The lady that did my toes was fine and I have no complaints with her part of the service. The 3rd time (last week), I needed the same nails and toes service as my last visit and I told her upon entering the salon. The older lady did my nails and was complaining bcuz I had abt an 1/4 inch new growth and she just kept repeating that she will have to charge me more bcuz my nails were long. Again, that's fine. I had no issue with paying for that but I told her that I wanted about 1/3 of the length cut and she said that she would have to charge me to cut down. I told her thats fine and I asked how much would my service be and she said over and over and over again that she has to charge me extra. She said 29.00 for my nails and I asked her to break it down for me. She sd that she is charging extra for long nails and extra to cut. I asked her why both extra charges bcuz you either charge extra for long nails or extra for cutting but not both. By the way my nail length after cutting was abt 1/2 in. They are not a ridiculous length. Before polishing nails, I always pay so I gave her my card and she charged my card for 29.00 which was the wrong amt for my nails bcuz she charged me extra twice and she didn't add in my toes. She refused to have someone do my toes and didn't tell me until after she took my money. This lady was upset with me bcuz while she was doing my nails, I noticed that there was still polish trapped between the my nail and the new acrylic she put on. She saw it and didn't care that she trapped visible polish between the new acrylic. I made her take the acrylic off that part of the nail and get the trapped polish and she was furious. I was going from a burgundy color to the light color "cotton candy". She didn't care that she didn't get all of the polish off b4 applying the new acrylic but as I explained to her, it's tacky, you saw it and didn't care even though you are over charging me. Plus she had decided that since I questioned her professionalism and quality of work that she wasn't going to do my toes and didn't tell me that until after she charged my card for the wrong nail price. She told me that I was "too picky" bcuz I questioned her work. I was very polite but firm and sd to her that my nails represents her work and that trapped polish should have never been left visibly on my nails and she knew better. I asked her why wouldn't she tell me that they weren't going to do my toes when she was doing my nails and she said that they can't put the light color over the burgundy on my toes and no one can do them even though it was a slow day and techs sitting around in the pedicure area chairs. I sd to her that when I came in and was asked what I needed I said a polish change and nail trim for my toes. She was trying to make up a reason bcuz she didn't want to complete my services bcuz I asked her to correct her sloppy careless work on my nails. She also said that she would have to charge me 20.00 to change my polish and trim my toes. My feet are well taken care of and my toenail growth was normal. Being disabled it's difficult for me to clip and polish my toenails but I can do the filing of the my heels and feet bottoms with my pedicure filer which I do on a regular basis and my feet are very nice. The older lady implied that it would take too long and no one could do "MY" toes. She also refused to finish my fingernails. She refused to polish them and refused to do my toes after she had already taken my money. I'm disputing the charge with my bank. This was a long complaint bcuz it is a copy of the actual written complaint that I filed. I had a terrible experience, poor workmanship, poor customer service and nasty senseless attitude from the older lady/maybe owner. Please note that I went to another shop that charged my 8.00 for my polish change/nail trim and 5.00 to polish my fingernails. I will be going back to that new shop in the future. read more
