Great food and service and happy environment! I'd come here again. Even the owner who originally built the building came over to say hello. It was such a treat and a cap to a nice weekend.

I'm sooo happy to have found Cowboy Ron and his awesome wife Shana's New Moon Cafe just a hop and a skip away from our second home in HB!! They have been in business for over 40 years and are open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner and have a really cool very southwestern feeling restaurant and also a beautifully stocked bar. All of course is safely in the guidelines for Covid safety precautions and rules too. Onto breakfast! Ordered one of the specials of the morning :grilled cheese breakfast Sandwich with 2 eggs, bacon, Jack cheese placed between 2 buttery cheesey pieces of grilled toast: it was total comfort food. I asked if the kitchen wouldn't mind not wrapping my breakfast burrito but just put the contents on a plate and and the Tortilla on the side and they happily obliged. The egg, peppers, onions and chorizo mixture was so flavorful and satisfying. The accompanying potatoes are delicious too! Also shared the grits with super garlicky jumbo shrimp that came with a homemade biscuit and 2 eggs any way you like. The grits are seasoned perfectly and the heavily garlic infused sautéed shrimp were a perfect accompaniment. We met both the owners and I totally connected with Cowboy Ron when we spoke about how he and my father were both in the Vietnam War around the same time frame! Lovingly family owned, awesome attentive staff and delicious are a great combo that is going to have us coming back for years to come!

A lovely lunch spot after our hike today! The outside garden area was so pretty!! I loved looking around. The menu was breakfast and lite lunch and it had good basic options. My chicken wrap was lite and delicious, they even have me a half salad that wasn't on the menu. My son love smelling all the flowers as we left. Inside had a bbq/saloon vibe that was super cute and too. I would def com back!

Breakfast fajita always hits the spot! I got it with sausage AND bacon! Biscuits and gravy never disappoints and that's just on the brunch menu, i highly recommend the brisket sandwich or any of the taco choices!

You don't often see real smokers in the back with pit masters smoking the meats. so here's my feedback. 1 out of 10 Portion size- 10 by far one of the best barbecue restaurants for portions. Ribs 5. Understand these ribs were cooked absolutely perfectly. Tender moist fantastic smoking ring. I'm only giving them a five because they had a slight cherry taste to them and this is a personal preference. I don't care for cherry in my pork. Brisket 7 I requested a cut from the point of the brisket and not the flat. I got the flat and it was borderline dry. However the flavor was spectacular. I think it may have just been in the warmer just a little too long. Sausage 3 again the sausage was smoked to perfection. But unfortunately, I could not taste any sausage at all only spice. The sausage needs to be the star of the show and the spice to be a compliment. Brisket mac & cheese- 9 nice size chunks of brisket in a nice creamy mac & cheese fantastic. Beans- 1 I'm sorry but the beans had zero smoke flavor and it kind of tasted like they came right out of the can. A good barbecue place like this I know they can do much much better with their beans. Corn bread - 10 the cornbread came with my meal and it was absolutely perfect. A nice little crust on the outside soft and moist on the inside unbelievably perfectly cooked. This is one absolutely fantastic restaurant and I was very, very impressed with the quality of smoked meat they are producing. This restaurant is employing true Pitt masters who know what the heck they're doing with their pits. It's nice to see a taste of Texas in Connecticut.

This week's excursion brought us to Struggletown BBQ in Mount Sinai, NY. From what I learned, what started as a food truck morphed into a brick-and-mortar business that has obviously hit its stride. This place is awesome! On the table this time was a "Big John Sampler", a 1/4# platter of brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs, as well as a side of chicken wings in an Alabama White Sauce and corn bread. Absolute winners all around. My first real introduction to corn bread was from Paul Prudhomme's cookbook "Louisiana Kitchen," where I learned to make, and love, a traditional southern corn bread (moist, flaky, and somewhat sweet). Of all the places that I've been to, in my humble opinion, this place has the best outside K-Paul's. There is a reason that it's one of the most requested items from the restaurant. It was excellent! Why am I making a fuss about cornbread? Because it's the details that make a restaurant great. Next came the chicken wings in Alabama White Sauce. I'm now a convert. Sure, I've had it a few times, but this version was eye-opening! Perfectly smoked, then fried chicken wings slathered in this red-sauce alternative was an epiphany for me. I don't think I'll ever look at the humble chicken wing the same way again. I am spoiled for life! Goodbye Buffalo, hello Decatur (where the sauce reputedly originated). Yeah, that good and worth traveling for. The meats? What you want from a BBQ joint. The brisket, pulled pork, and chicken were all juicy and smoked to perfection; the ribs had a smoke ring that made me jealous of their skill set (I'll get there one day). Have I said "awesome? yet? Plenty of parking, all cards, and they cater! This is one of those places that you'll want to day trip to if you're jonesing for some smoky greatness. I was trying to find a way to go there without having to drive so far just for food. I live an hour away from them, so the travel time is what makes going there a deal breaker consistently. It's worth going to East Hampton generally, but it should be a day thing. Not just to go eat. The person who helped us was very knowledgable and asked good questions in terms of what you'd like for your platter. The food was top quality. Our platters were worth every bit of that gift certificate and I'd love to come around this place again! I also had to buy their sauce on the way back home because we use it for some dinners. My only critiques is regarding the mac and cheese. I wish it was more of a homemade baked mac and cheese with the toasted top. But definitely good mac and cheese nonetheless. The mashed sweet potatoes were definitely too seasoned with all spice. It gave it too much of a kick than I was expecting. I liked the seating inside and outside. If we didn't have bad allergies, would've probably sat outside and enjoyed our meal. Also, this place has their own parking area. So that's definitely a plus!

It puts all other barbecue spots to shame. The chicken is so juicy and flavorful even without the barbecue sauce. I've eaten barbecue all over the country--from New York to Texas, including Austin and Houston--and I never expected some of the best BBQ I'd ever have to be right here in West Babylon on Long Island. Everything is smoked fresh twice a day: once for the lunch crowd and again for dinner. You can absolutely taste the difference. The ribs, pulled pork, and chicken are unbelievably tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. The meat practically falls off the bone, with just the right amount of fat to keep every bite moist and flavorful. I also recommend the mashed potatos with beans on top, and the chili mac & cheese. Get the BBQ trifecta like I did and I promise you'll be glad you did. The cornbread deserves its own mention. It's incredibly moist and delicious. My favorite way to eat it is lightly toasted until it's golden brown with a generous spread of creamy butter, but it's fantastic straight out of the bag too. The BBQ sauce ties everything together perfectly. It has a rich, smoky flavor with just the right balance of sweetness and tang. It's so good that you'll find yourself putting it on everything without overpowering the meat itself. What really sets Bitterman's apart, though, is the value and the hospitality. Joe clearly takes pride in what he serves, and it shows in every tray that comes out of the kitchen. He is such a nice guy too! The portions are enormous (there was enough for tonight and tomorrows dinner with my wife), the quality is consistently outstanding, and you leave feeling like you got far more than you paid for (you can't say that about many other restaurants these days). If you're looking for authentic, top-quality barbecue on Long Island, stop searching. Bitterman's has earned a lifelong customer, and I'll gladly make the drive back again and again. Five stars without hesitation. Stop by and tell them Jason sent you!

Just walking in, we were warmly greeted, then quickly seated. This place is "picnic style", so you're given menus at your table, but order at the counter (I personally like that vibe). Anyway, we ordered their 1/4 pound, five-meat sampler (pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, a competition-style rib and a whole smoked sausage) and they converted me. Everything was nothing short of awesome. Both the pork and chicken were juicy and tender, the brisket this time around was smoked to succulent perfection and the rib was nothing short of excellent (not 'fall off the bone", but with that perfect competition "pull" that really won me over). The sausage I learned was locally sourced and a great compliment to the platter. Enough for two with small appetites to share. The sauce is still in small cups, but as I was told, there had been so much waste left on empty plates, that they had no choice to serve it that way, and I get that. Restaurants run on very thin margins these days. I had the spicy version again and really enjoyed it. Add in some live music played by a couple of good ole boys and since my first visit 9 months ago, this place has turned into a legit Long Island BBQ joint and will now be part of my usual rotation. I still think the hush puppies could have used a few seconds less in the fryer, but the flavor profile was spot on as was the corn fritters. But we left happy and full...I'm glad I was able to get back and try it again. Plenty of parking, all cards and a very laid back experience.
