Food: They have shrimp & grits, beignets, pancakes, chicken & waffles, BLT & more on the breakfast menu. The pancakes are divine! They offer strawberry, blueberry, chocolate and pecan toppings. Shrimp & Grits are cool. I'm a bit particular when it comes to Shrimp & Grits, but I think they could use a little less cream and a bit more spice/flavor, but they weren't bad! For lunch and dinner, there are different daily specials. I'll come back on a Saturday to try the crawfish etouffee. Price: Great prices. Most meals on the breakfast menu are actually about $6-$13. Service: The young lady who is usually there in the morning is awesome! Ambiance: Just food. No frills. I think they could really benefit from giving the place a facelift or maybe even something as simple as adding a bar (the girls love mimosas) or patio furniture outdoors. My wife and I have been dining at The New Orleans Grill for over 20 years, and it's always been a pleasant experience. We're consistently seated quickly, our orders are taken promptly, and the food is reliably good. The only reason I'm leaving four stars instead of five is the service after the meal arrives. Once the food is served, we rarely see our server again--and tonight was no exception. I had to track ours down when my glass went empty, which is always a pet peeve of mine. That said, the Catfish Creole is now my new favorite dish. Perfectly cooked Mississippi raised blackened catfish served over seafood gumbo--absolutely delicious! I just had the best shrimp I've ever had in my life which is saying something because I truly love seafood and I'm an excellent cook myself. I ordered the shrimp and grits with a side salad, a side of asparagus, and root beer. On my way driving to Texas I wanted something a bit hardier than fast food. I called ahead to ask how long the shrimp would take and they offered to have it ready for me by the time I arrived. The food was ready for me at the exact moment I arrived. My server was extremely considerate and had prepackaged everything in to-go containers so that as soon as I finished my dine-in meal I could hit the road again. I savored every bite and enjoyed the soft New Orleans style music playing in the background. The chef came to say hello. Three joyful, smiling men seem to run the place. Without interrupting my meal, they all made me feel like family. All their positivity and obvious love they put into the food really energized me to continue my late night drive. I haven't been to N'awlins Grill in 6 years but was passing by and decided to stop. Still has same causal atmosphere as before. Last time I was here, all of the severs were females. Today it was all male. Customer service was good. My server wasn't rude but he did his job by keeping my tea refilled. I ordered the shrimp basket. When I saw the price, I worried that it wasn't going to be a lot of food but the picture tells the story. Plenty of food and all fresh out the grease. The shrimp were seasoned well and I loved the house-cut fries. Even the hushpuppies were good. Two downsides of the basket. The slaw wasn't that great. Not a lot of flavor and watery, and my cocktail sauce seemed to have been taken out of the freezer this morning. It was kind of hard in the middle. I'd give a negative 5 stars if I could. I ordered a smoked boneless turkey breast for Thanksgiving and what they provided was a roll of processed turkey deli meat. Technically, it's boneless, and it's breast meat, but it's not a "brined" and smoked real boneless turkey breast. How do you even brine processed deli meat? Is that even a thing? Cook Alex Dodd was rude, loud, and belligerent when I called about it and first accused me of getting it somewhere else, then accused me of switching it after we left with it. When I brought the remaining half in as demanded, he insisted the deli roll was right, appropriate. Not in my book! Waste of money. This was a definite NO!! We read the menu before choosing where to eat. They said, lump crab cakes. They said, barbecue shrimp. They said, Gumbo. Gumbo was good. Crab cakes, non existent. The bbq shrimp was regular boiled shrimp, no seasoning sitting in some sort of marinade I'm guessing. The side salad had 5 pieces of the thick part of the ice burg lettuce. Once I removed them there were four bites left. I give this place a negative star. Plus, with all that nonsense, the bill was $66.00 The kid serving us brought bread and had his hand on top of it when he set it down. Yuck. read more

Service: Well, the service was terrible thanks to our waitress "Mary". She was really rude and slow. She seemed bothered by us being there and had a horrible attitude. For instance, the Blackened catfish that my friend ordered looked like they took a catfish filet and put it in my bowl of gumbo and served it to him. Another friend ordered the Redfish, same thing... he got a plate of gumbo with a Redfish filet in it. The third friend, different entree, same outcome. Lol I've just never been to a restaurant where everything you order looks the exact same. I guess it's a good thing my gumbo was decent. Ambiance: They had a N'awlins themed atmosphere with N'awlins memorabilia, Blues playing softly in the dining area, and the male server we met (in one of the photos I posted) was super nice. Will I go back? Doubt it. It was too far off the highway to go back for such lousy service. You either have to be slightly better than your competition and convenient or else's you better capitalize on the one shot you get to earn someone's future business. N'awlins didn't leave me with a good taste in my mouth for their restaurant. Yummy Creole inspired fare. The gumbo is quite good, with a dark roux. I can't wait to go back for more of it. I also had the house salad - which is a basic house with iceberg, fried jumbo shrimp, and garlic mashed. The mashed potatoes were creamy and garlicky. The shrimp were huge and fresh. My husband and I visited at 7 on a Saturday evening. There were only two other couples in the restaurant. (We should have taken the sign) We ordered the crawfish tail app. When it arrived it was bland as it could be. This was very disappointing considering it's not what you expect when you visit a "Cajun" restaurant. My husband ordered a cup of gumbo and I ordered a cup of the corn and shrimp bisque. Then the BOWLS arrived, the gumbo tasted off. I liked the flavor of the bisque, but couldn't eat the shrimp that were in it. The shrimp tasted like a bag of frozen shrimp were dumped into the soup to thaw before serving. Today my husband is sick to his stomach (which is normally iron) and cannot stay out of the restroom. I looked this place on Yelp, and my "search" was "shrimp and grits"; which is what I was wanting for lunch. The lunch menu did not have shrimp and grits, so I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and a bowl of seafood gumbo. The server was very polite, attentive and helpful. The service was just a tad bit slow but not too bad. Everything was so perfectly delicious! The crab cakes...wow! The sauce on them was incredible. The gumbo was perfect. The food is five star! The only reason I am giving four is because I was disappointed that there wasn't shrimp and grits and it was a little slow. But then, good food takes time. :) read more

New York strip had excellent seasoning right level salt, great garlic on the mashed potatoes, fried oysters were perfectly tender, gumbo had andouille sausage, shrimp, and crawfish... great flavor! Oven roasted baked potatoes, barbecue baked beans, and coleslaw were great sides. All of this served with catfish, softshell crab, fried shrimp and fried oysters. Ok, so I've been here a couple times now. The first for take-out. I got a catfish plate and a popcorn shrimp plate. Both were quite good and I'd go back for that. Today, however, we dined in. Service was a little slow, but it was a decent number of tables waiting so I'm guessing they're not usually that busy. I could deal with the short wait, my six year old had his video game and the baby was calm. I ordered the shrimp and grits, my husband the gumbo. The shrimp dish had an interesting presentation (see the picture), I was amused and it had a decent flavor but I don't know what they did (or didn't do) to the shrimp but my stomach told me to stop eating it after one bite :-/ It was very pale and weirdly hard.. The best burger in Clinton . Super cool waiter. Butger came out fast. I sometimes order the burger to go and have some unusual requests but it's always fulfilled. The soft drinks is really good and they use those really small ice that taste great. I also had the Alfredo and although the noodles was thin spaghetti type, the flavors was great. Oysters were tough, fried shrimp were popcorn but not advertised that way, fries were super greasy. Service was horrible...waiter walked around like a chicken with his head cut off. Restaurant was clean and staff was super friendly. Made a To-Go Order of an overstuffed Shrimp Po'Boy, Shrimp & Grits, Cheese Burger, Shrimp Étouffée and Lemon pie. The overstuffed Shrimp Po'Boy was delicious and definitely is overstuffed. At least 10 large fried shrimp on a toasted roll. I order with potato salad but was mistakenly given fries. The Shrimp & Grits stole the show though. Butter and tasty. They were the best out of all the dishes. Typical cheeseburger but not exactly this locations specialty. The Shrimp Étouffée is really good. Taste just like you would get at a standard place in NOLA. I would review the Lemon Pie but it was also left off my order (hence the 4 stars). N'awlin's Grill was once one of my favorite lunch spots. However, as of late this place has fallen from my GRACES. Food: Twice I've ordered the mozzarella and mushroom burger and was told they were out of mozzarella. So I had to order something else. Each time I've ordered the Jumbo Shrimp with Fries the amount of Shrimp has changed. The first time, I received 8 shrimp, not bad. Second time, I received 7, and yesterday I received just 6. Mind you, this dish is close to $13.00 with tax. Be consistent .... Customer service: The customer service at this place is horrendous. However, the women waitstaff are better. The males on the other hand are absolutely trash. I made the mistake of visiting this place on yesterday around 12:30. I ordered the jumbo shrimp; I was jipped. But I let it slide. I asked for my ticket and attempted to give my waiter my bank card. I was then informed that their card machine was down. I said so, what do you want me to do? He waiter replied you can go next door to use the ATM, I replied, No I will not incur bank fees because you failed to tell me the card machine was down. He replied well its on the door. I instantly became heated. How dare you asked your patrons to go outside of your establishment to get cash. We live in a society were very few carry cash or checks. You would think that the waitstaff would have common sense to inform the customers before they ordered; about card machine being down. I can deal with a lot of things from restaurants! But lazy waitstaff just isn't one of them. I WILL NOT BE BACK... If horrible customer service is what you are looking for, this is the place for you. read more
