I'm not sure why this place has low stars, but it's amazing. The flavor is 100% there. I order tofu every time, and I have never been disappointed. The chef/ owner is amazing and always eager for you to try new flavors. I accidently discovered this place a few months ago, and I can't get enough. I have stopped going to any other Chinese place after trying this. Oh, the portions are plentiful as well. I wouldn't recommend eating in the restaurant as the place is not tidy.

First off I want to mention that my Togo order sat at home for about an hour before I rate it. ( FYI ) I walk-in for a Togo order I ordered orange chicken with 1/2 and 1/2 rice and chow. The orange chicken had a good flavor. Nice and crispy Tho there were some chewy parts. The rice was GOOD. Nice moist and fluffy. The noodles were tasty too! Not to greasy but just enough oil for flavor. Over all everything services, food , and customer services was good. Just wish I stayed in and take my food fresh and hot. The ambiance was cute. Typical small Chinese food vibe. There's a number of small table if you want to eat there.

That's the serving size and we also ate some of it

This food is very clean and good and very good serving sizes if I could give a 10 I would give this place a 10/10

For me when I'm craving some Chinese food & I don't want to wait in long lines at Panda Express... pshhh this place is just as good! Just get the half chow mein half fried rice with Orange Chicken & Zesty Chicken & BAM! You're good! I love this place cuz they give nice portions for a good price! Being from Simi I like supporting the local businesses & the owner is nice! Orange Chicken & Zesty Chicken, can't go wrong! I might try the Terriyaki Chicken next time, that looked pretty good too!

When my sister asked if I wanted to eat here, I was a little hesitant. I have been vegan for almost a year and haven't had Chinese food since. This is mostly because I heard that panda express put chicken flavoring in everything and I didn't really want to risk it. However, I figured I would go in, see what they have, and run to Del Taco if I needed too. The second I walked in, it looked like a family owned restaurant. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't even as "high class" as even McDonald's. The tables weren't anything special, they were using some of the dining room for storage, and overall, it just looked old. But hey, some of the best food comes from hole-in-the-wall places, so not judging. Now, I've seen some of the reviews on here mentioning the service, but the employee who helped me was outstanding! I asked if their chow mein or fried rice was vegan, she informed me that they were not. My hopes weren't high, but i was a little disappointed. However, then she informs me that they have plain white. I said yes, but wasn't too excited because I could literally just go home and make my own white rice. But then, she also asks me if I would like 'orange tofu' (like orange chicken, but with tofu). That's where they got me. I was so excited I could hardly wait! When I got home and started to eat, I realised what a great choice it was. The portion size was huge, the rice was good, and the tofu was great! Granted, it wasn't the best thing I ever ate (hence the 4 stars) , but it was still pretty dang good.

Their voicemail message continues to say "temporarily closed." So I started searching closer to home, which is a challenge because I don't usually view any Simi Valley restaurant as being worthy of our patronage... yet, I searched anyway. I found Bao Su on Yelp, so we decided to give them a try based on other Yelper reviews. Bottom line is that my husband and I were incredibly impressed with their food, not to mention, happy that it is so much closer. We ordered the following (takeout): Shrimp Fried Rice Shrimp with Lobster Sauce Szechuan Style Eggplant Sizzling Chicken Mongolian Beef I had a bit of a problem deciphering their menu because there weren't a lot of details as to ingredients, so I took chances and prayed they were dishes we've had before. Everything was delicious, plentiful and mostly recognizable... with the exception of the shrimp with lobster sauce. That was more soup-like and watered down from what we're used to, but it was still really good. All dishes were loaded with protein and vegetables, well seasoned and sauced, and textures were soft or crunchy, just as we knew them to be... and just as we loved them. We've since ordered from them again, and they were (very happily) consistently delicious. We are sooooooo happy to now have a LOCAL Chinese restaurant that we can trust and enjoy. We may even dine there and not do the takeout thing for a change. (I really would like to ask them what some of their other dishes are on the menu cuz I would like more options, truth be told. However, if the dishes above are the only ones I would ever choose to order, I'm fine with that, too.)

Was surprised to find such an authentic spot for Chinese in Oak Park!…read more I came by for a Mother's Day lunch with my family. When we arrived around 1 pm, the restaurant was maybe half full. But clearly it was popular as people were coming in constantly the entire time we were eating. Even though the restaurant is called Yunnan Restaurant, most of the dishes on the menu were more like Sichuan dishes i.e. spicy. All of the food was super solid and portions were ginormous. My recommendation is to order 1 dish per person if you want leftovers, or order one less dish than the # of people if you want to finish most of the food. I don't handle spice very well, so we ordered a mix of spicy and non-spicy dishes. We shared the following: #1 Yunan rice noodles ($16.99) #32 scallion pancake ($8.99) #104 Chong qing fried chicken ($16.99) #107 braised pork belly with buns ($19.99) #109 boiled two items - fish and duck blood ($21.99) Given that the restaurant is called Yunnan Restaurant, we felt like we had to order one of the most popular dishes from that region, the Yunan rice noodles i.e. crossing the bridge noodles. I really enjoyed the silky smooth mixian noodles as well as the flavorful broth. The fried chicken was too spicy for me; I ate one piece and my whole mouth was on fire. Everyone else said it was quite spicy as well, so eat this in moderation unless you can really handle your spice. The 3 pepper signs next to this dish on the menu are no joke! The braised pork belly was delicious, but portions were on the smaller side for this one. Still, I enjoyed making a little bun sandwich with the pork belly and pickled veggies. The boiled fish and duck blood was also super solid. It was just a little spicy, so I was able to manage a couple pieces with the help of rice on the side. Portions were very generous for this dish. We all ate lots of fish and duck blood and still had a ton left to take home. They also have some precooked 涼菜, i.e. cold dishes, on the side you can buy for dine-in or to go. We got 3 of the meats - pork tongue, pork head, and and beef tripe, to go. Paid $16.99 for a huge box of these meats. We thought this was a steal too. Can't wait to try some at home!

The edamame, dumplings (actually now that I think about it we ordered dumplings but I think we got potstickers but not their fault since the child that placed the order basically whispered it), & egg flower soup was kid approved. The mapo tofu is marked as spicy. When I placed the order she wanted to make sure that I knew this, which I appreciated. The dish had a good amount of spice. A bit of a kick but still enjoyable. All comes on one plate, actually very nicely presented. The fish was tender, the vegetables crunchy and the sauce well balanced. Fried rice, though luke warm, was still good. I asked for chili paste or chili oil and was curtly presented with Sriracha sauce. This is not only callous but insulting. Say you do not have it, instead of dumping a container with the wrong presentation. What totally killed this dining experience was the service, from start to finish. No smiling. Abrupt. Mechanical. Attitude. Uninviting. And therefore, unmemorable and unrepeatable.

Great for the price as long as you temper your expectations…read more In this economy, Golden Panda is still doing $17.99 for lunch, $21.99 for dinner, and $23.99 for weekends all without time limit, so if you are going in expecting some gourmet buffet, you are most likely going to be disappointed. But if you go in with the expectation that you can try a ton of different food for the same price as a regular eat out, you might be pleasantly surprised like me. The hot food sections consist of Chinese buffet classics and a small selection of western foods like fried chickens and shrimp boils, etc. The quality of the Chinese dishes are honestly surprising good. Better than Panda Express, which isn't a high bar but still, and even has expensive dishes like fried crabs that is actually good. IMO even if you only eat from this section, you will have your money's worth and have a good time. The sushi/seafood bar is a slightly more complicated story. The rolls didn't look appetizing so I didn't try them. The chilled seafoods like cocktail shrimps and mussels didn't taste too fresh and I am a little worried after eating them. The sushi/sashimi, which are the main star of the entire buffet, are honestly pretty decent but with a caveat. They are obviously not sushi restaurants quality, but the fish are fresh enough and the sushi rice are decent enough that I when back for more. The only thing that concerned me is that the tongs used for sushi and sashimi are very dirty with food residue on them. They don't seem to be changing frequently if at all, and using something that has been touching raw fish and sitting out for a long time concerns me. If I get sick from the sushi it is probably not the sushi itself but the tongs. Lastly, the desert section is great like many comments have said, the fruits are fresh, cakes are decent, and the gelato ice creams are very high quality. Service is alright. They have remodeled so it is definitely cleaner than before and the bathroom is nice too. Service: very friendly staff. They realized the menu was overcoming us, so the they were patient and gave good descriptions of the items on the menu. Venue: very cozy and inviting.
