I came to this place 5 years ago with two Wedding Dresses only one would get altered. We decided on a dress and the other was returned. Next came the hour long pinning and alterations. They told me to come back in a week. When I had my next fitting the dress looked amazing! It was to big and to long and I did not want to pay Macy's prices for alterations! My step-mother was a seamstress so she use to alter all my clothes so I knew how it should look. Unfortunately both she and my dad are no long on earth. Fast forward a month before the My wedding when back in and the dress was GORGEOUS! I tried it on with the shoes and it was perfect. They even took a picture. This place has always been my usual go-to place for any dry-cleaning services. However, just recently, the zipper to my heavy down jacket needed repair. I decided to go to a couple of places to get an estimate. One place had told me that the zipper needed replacing and the cost would have been around $50. Since the cost was that much, I was seriously considering just buying a new coat altogether! When I went to SOS cleaners; however, they took a quick look at it and fixed the zipper immediately. It turns out that there was some surplus cloth that was causing the issue. Best of all, they did this as a complimentary service! They are always very nice, are prompt and attentive, they get the stains OUT, and always are open to accommodating a last minute need for cleaning. They also do alterations, and while the man does a great job with figuring out what and how things need altered, and the woman sews well, I have had less than positive experiences when the woman is the one doing the measuring. The process was easy and they were so nice when I even called to ask if they could change the measurement and add 1/4 inch. This place is amazing. I didn't realize my bridesmaid dress didn't fit until I was getting on a plane to go to the wedding. After a brief freak out I found New SOS Cleaners on yelp and called them on my way to Chicago. They agreed to meet me and within a day my dress fit like a dream. They wanted to make sure I could wear it again and the tailoring was impeccable. 5 inches in a day and it fit like a glove! I've only gone here to get bridesmaid dresses altered and I've been very happy with the service. I've gotten three dresses taken in, put cups in, shortened/lengthened, anything you can do to a bridesmaid dress and I was very happy with the results each time. Much like their name implies, I came to S.O.S. in a moment of desperation. It was 2 weeks before my wedding, and I had procrastinated about getting the paper-thin sleeves on my chiffon wedding gown shorted from something that looked like sorcerer's garb into a nice, normal 3/4 length. After being turned down by THREE tailors who wouldn't touch those sleeves for fear of screwing them up and getting their asses sued by my soon-to-be lawyer husband, I went to S.O.S. a week before by wedding. The lady who does the tailoring did an impeccable job! Not only did she finish the job in 2 days, the stitching looks fabulous as well. I have been a loyal customer of S.O.S for over two years...until today!! They've always done a good job with cleaning and alterations. However, in recent months I noticed that some of my items were not "clean" after I picked them up. Because I never inspected the clothing (when I took it home nor should I have to) or wore it for months (in some cases) after I picked it up, I discovered the stains much later. The first and second time the male spouse begrudgingly took the clothes back and all was well. At this point I decided that I was no longer going to use them. But, this past Thursday, I pulled out an item they'd "cleaned" and found that the same stains were still there. I decided I was done and was going to let him know about this when I picked up my last items. I was very polite and asked him if they've changed a cleaning agent or something to cause this poor service. He waved me off and told me that he could not recall what item I was talking about. I waited till the customer who walked in left (thinking that he was agitated because another customer had overheard this exchange) and tried to explain to him that there is a pattern of stuff not being cleaned appropriately. I paid for my stuff, he returned my debit to me by slamming it on the on the counter and told me that "I have a complaint about my clothes every time" and the last time I actually wore something and returned it "claiming it was poorly cleaned"!!!!. I reminded him that I brought back the item still wrapped in the plastic bag and showed him the partially removed deodorant stain. He continued that I had hurt his pride by telling him that the job was not well done and to go away. I told him it'd be great if he did his job cleaning clothes he charged for and walked out. I have never been so insulted and angered by a merchant. For him to suggest that I only had complaints because I was trying to get over on him is so insulting and disrespectful beyond comprehension. Until recently, I was always pleased with their service and even referred customers to him. I always gave them the benefit of doubt when something didn't turn out fine. I will NEVER go back there and urge those who do to inspect their clothing immediately upon pick up...especially knits that have smears or solids caked on them and delicate fabrics. read more

I used to go this place a few years back, when I used to go it was all fine until they ruinned my best coat, they claimmed I had brought it like that and that they would not take damaged garments for dry cleaning (IF it was already damaged why did they take it and processed it?) never going back to this place. I went here based on the great reviews already posted, but that was a huge mistake. I took a bridesmaid dress in with a few weeks to go before the wedding and asked them to put a corset in the back as the top was just a bit snug and I like the corset look. I came with all the necessary supplies and they told me they would do it, no problem. When I put the dress on, the two owners began talking to each other in their native language, so I had no idea what they were saying. When I went to go pick the dress up, there was no corset and instead they'd ripped all the seams apart and made a bunch of changes that I did not request or authorize. Somehow they made the dress way too big in the skirt part, and I had to take it 800 miles home and have my mother spend the entire day before the wedding undoing what this seamstress had done. What a waste of time and money. read more

The customer service here is very good and they do a great job with most items, but I would not take your wedding dress here to be cleaned. I took my silk wedding dress here - They washed it, which ruined the silk. To make it worse, when they washed it, all of the pick-ups in the dress came out. The tailor tried to fix the dress to make it similar to the way it was, but it does not look good. It makes me sad whenever I think about it. They are very nice there though and they have done a good job with everything else I have had done. read more
