The lady that did my feet was very nice and did a great job but the nail tech lady soon as she started doing my hands it was so rough that I decided to to just get a manicure. I showed her a design I wanted and she agreed she can do the design. She ended up not using the color I wanted (the color I wanted was a clear pink) she put a Barbie pink and no design. Well doing my nails my sister was next to me and I kept telling her it hurt and pulling my hand back. She did not shape my nails so they are all uneven and breaking. The texture of my nails has so many bumps. I'm just really disappointed, the over all look of the inside of the business is nice and relaxing and everyone was friendly but the nail tech and her technique has turned me off and will not go back. I was ready to give up on finding a nail salon in Manteca that I loved. So glad I found this place. Very clean, soothing and quiet ambience. Mary did my pedicure and I could not be happier. I chose the highest end pedicure that included a 15 minute massage. I'm used to nail salons doing mediocre massages and just wanting to get you out of the chair as quickly as possible to get the next person in. This was far from the case here. Mary set a 15 minute timer for my massage, and even went beyond that time. She also went back through with the scrubber when she still felt some rough spots on my heels. Scrub, mask, hot stones, paraffin wax, 15 minute massage, gel polish and a decent tip all for under $100. This will 100% be my go to salon! Let me start this off by saying I haven't gotten my nails done professionally in 3+ years. I do my own acrylics and gel myself and every time I've gotten them done I am disappointed. Not this time. My mother and I came here to get our nails done for a wedding and we were very pleased overall. We called ahead to make sure they had time for 2 mani/pedi's and only had to wait about 20 minutes before heading out. Our pedicures were fantastic, we chose The Deluxe with regular polish. Moving on to the manicure, we both got gel and I also got acrylic on my natural nail. Most of my mani was spent removing the old gel and applying the acrylic. I did not get to chose a package for my mani and I did not even get my cuticles trimmed. My lady did not chit chat with me which is fine, I get to listen to my crime podcasts and she listened to her music. My mother and I both got nail designs and were pleased with the end results. First time here at this nail salon. I found them on Yelp and I did a full set manicure gel. Tina was the nail tech who did my nails. I just showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did her thing. Tina was very pleasant and patient with me I had my toddler with me and she was kind enough to give him a chair to sit next to me. I use to come here all the time to get my nails done but then stopped after i got a really bad pedicure. i went back on Saturday 10/09/2021. i got a dip powder manicure. ive been getting dip powder over acrylics for about 6 months now. my dip has always lasted me about 2-3 weeks and then i go in and get another. well the lady that did my manicure on Saturday filed the dip so thin that my nails are breaking and the dip is lifting all around. its chipping off the end of my nails, its chipping around my cuticle? how? why? Please explain to me how i chipped my nail making the bed on Sunday? its not like im out there doing manual labor and being rough on my hands. i work in an office? Im very unhappy that i paid $50 for my nails to look good for one day! Started getting my nails done at NewStar about 8 months ago and service was always great. I went to Phi and she was super friendly. The last few times I went my gel polish starts to peel a week later. She said it was because my thumb wasn't under the light all the way, but all my fingers peeled. I am not rough with my hands either. The last time I went I got a pedicure with my fill and she filed my nails during my pedicure. At that time the girl doing my pedicure was rubbing the oil on my legs and all the powder from my nails fell onto my legs and got rubbed in with the oil and my legs were so itchy and uncomfortable. I didn't leave a good tip like I usually would and two workers came out to confront me about why there was no good tip. It was unprofessional. RUN...don't walk to this new spot in Manteca before everyone and their mama finds out about it and then they are booked out for weeks or months! I don't know about you, but "customer service" isn't necessarily the first thing that comes to mind when you think about nail salons. Maybe for some places it's a language barrier, but honestly you walk in and they say "what do you want?" And they rush you to pick your color and sit down, hurry up and do an ok job, and then send you on your way. That was not the vibe here at all. I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon without an appointment. I was surprised to see it was pretty empty. Apparently 3:30 is prime time to go without an appointment. You check in on an iPad and choose your services, and then you are seated. They ask you if you would like water or coffee, and the whole salon is not just clean, but PRISTINE. I got the express pedicure with gel polish, and even though it was low tier, it did not disappoint. It even came with a hot stone massage!! The woman who did the job was extra thorough and very sweet. I also got a full set with dipping powder. I can't even believe their color choices in gel and powder, it's insane! The woman who did my nails was also amazing and very polite. Once we got started on my nails, the salon seemed to fill up pretty fast. They were very accommodating to everyone, even walk-ins. I do not recommend new Star nails in Manteca I have been coming here for over a year I have my favorite nail technicians like everybody has when they've built relationships. Nothing against my nail technician ivy is the best to me and Ann these two young ladies have been nothing but kind, professional, respectful to every single client that they handle and manage with. Now what I do not like are the other employees at this establishment they are rude they speak in their language about you and think that they don't know I speak and understand Cantonese Chinese and Tagalog. I made an appointment for my sister and I to go to our normal technicians ivy / Ann on Friday January 28th for an appointment on Wednesday February 2nd the young lady I spoke to let me know that Ann was unavailable. So, I asked for another technician Lillian who I was suggested to go to for full set and pedicure when we arrive Lillian doesn't know how to do full sets I am on a time crunch so the young man who checked us in stated that we could get somebody else to do my sister's full set I asked for Lisa to do the full set if she didn't have any other clients we came here at 9:00 right when they open. The young man said that might be fine because her first appointment is not until 11:00 a.m. as Lillian was getting the pedicure bowls together for my sister and I the young man asked Lisa if he could do if she could do I'm sorry the full set she said no I do not want so I cannot do their full set. So as I heard that the young man is all like I'm sorry unfortunately putting him in a hard spot which he should not have to be put in and I said okay that's fine still being polite so then I'm waiting ivy was running a little late so my sister and I felt the energy that was being giving and I said we will both just wait for ivy should have went with my first judgment and just waited for ivy. So then Lily starts talking to the young man and to other people and their language in the store about they don't want me to do it no more can you just do it so then Lisa says she could do it I stopped them and I said no I don't want her to do it she doesn't want to do it so no we will wait for our people. So then we just continue to let Lillian do the pedicure as she continues to do the pedicure she continues to talk mess about my sister and I and how I have an attitude and I didn't have an attitude I didn't have an attitude until I cancel all my appointments and I left and they still wouldn't have known that I had an attitude cuz I even still said thank you and I walked out the door I do not advise you come to this establishment if you do book your appointment only with ivy and only with Ann but do not spend your money here do not waste your money here do not waste your time here these other technicians and people are rude And a professionalism is beyond ridiculous there's no professionalism here. Maybe when they first opened up when the older man was checking people in and keeping the ladies in line and the other gentleman in line things were together right now it's a free fall Don't waste your time here there are other people and nail spas that you could go and get better service. read more

Dirty and dusty. Halfway through my visit I noticed a big thick yellow cut off fingernail behind the glass near some tools on the counter and it looked like no one ever wiped the workstation down. It was off putting. To top it off when she put my hands in the UV light there was another broken fingernail this time with white polish. I had her remove it and wipe down. In addition to the unsanitary conditions I found myself in, there is a limited experience among the staff. Depending on what you want done there may be different providers available or not available . After calling ahead and asking what time to come for my dip powder nails I still had to wait for over 30 minutes for the one staff who claimed to know how to do it. Very limited color selection for what I wanted done. The tech then tried to do acrylics on me when I very clearly asked for and then waited for a dip powder set. She asked other staff if she should do this or that . While getting my nails done none of the staff could agree on whether or not to apply an activator to my dip powder nails. It was uncomfortable to say the least to wonder as a customer if any of them knew what they were doing. Left with paper thin dip nails in a color I didn't care for and which one nail broke within an hour. I was afraid to go back because it was so gross. Went the next morning to have them taken off and redone elsewhere. Needless to say I won't be back nor do I recommend this place. read more

So this place did a decent job on my nails and my pedicure but they nickel and dime you. I had a gel fill which was $37, they charge you $5 for the shape if it's not square round, if you get square round they charge you $2. I swear I wanted to say no shape but that's impossible, Since I was getting a fill the shape was already there but I did have the nails cut down so they had to reshape them. But since when do you charge for shaping? How can you do nails without some kind of shape? It's apart of the process and you shouldn't be charged extra. Then I was going to get a gel pedicure and it was going to cost $42 and that was for an express pedicure, $15 for the gel. So I backed out of a gel pedicure and said I'll have a regular polish pedicure and they wanted to charge me an extra $5 for taking off the gel polish that I had on. I spoke with the owner and she said they do this everywhere and I disagreed. I've been to places in Tracy and Stockton and the east bay and they do not charge extra for shape or taking off polish. I get that businesses are trying to make up the money from being closed but this is ridiculous. I will not come back and I didn't even tip because the services were overpriced. read more

I've tried almost every salon in the city of Ripon. None of them were to my standards...except this one. Because I am so detail oriented, I notice issues and things I don't like right away usually. Other salons would have products they used for pedicures that would suck, or they would accidentally cut me - NOT this place. Customer service, is great! The gentleman at the front desk is so sweet. I called the day of & they got me right in. I did spend a little more time in there than I would've hoped or thought waiting in the beginning when I first arrived and in between services, but my nails exceeded my expectations. They had WiFi for me to connect to. The gel colors they have are FAR better and more options than any place I've ever been - which is a HUGE huge + for me. They had NAIL STICKERS which is what I've been wanting from other places and I felt no other salons offered. With those, you get designs that take less time & look more perfect! Its a huge win. My pedicure was incredible (I wish I got the lady's name that did mine)! The acrylic fill I had done - was done by Phi, she was so accommodating and patient with me at deciding what I wanted.
