We stopped in last weekend, as we were craving some good Indian food. We are spicy food fanatics and enjoy the ability to control the level of heat in the food that we eat when ordering out. We are also picky when it comes to the food that we purchase, because we are great cooks ourselves and have had the pleasure of enjoying great Indian food. The establishment was dead- which was a sign that made us a bit nervous, but we didn't notice that people came and went often to take advantage of the take out service. The interior was clean and beautifully designed. The stonework and shape and lighting of the bar was impressive, as was the trim of the entire dining room. The bathroom was simple with the one stall room- but very beautiful- tiled throughout with a waterfall style stone counter. That same effort level was reflected in the offerings. First and foremost, we had 2 tanqueray & tonics, which were absolutely perfectly poured. The chicken pakora was so flavorful- addicting you'd say. The basmati was cooked expertly- light and fluffy and delicately floral from the faintest spices of cardamom and clove. The shrimp tandoori tikka masala which my husband and son had was incredibly flavorful. (Not many Indian Restaurants make that dish, and it's their favorite. We've had it at other locations, but this is our new #1) I saw haddock tikka masala and immediately knew I'd be getting that considering the fact that they used haddock and not some unknown cheaper alternative. It was also amazingly flavorful, and the portion of fish was hefty. My daughter got the chicken korma. She is 4 and typically doesn't love to eat curries, however she LOVED her korma and when I tried a bite I realized why- it was truly one of the best curries I've ever had. It was so creamy and decadent without feeling too heavy, with a lighter presence of curry flavor. The garlic naan was so moist and chewy and buttery and garlicky with a generous portion of fresh parsley to freshen up the decadence. Also, if you enjoy spicy food, they deliver. My husband and I are always trying to convince waitstaff that we truly want it as hot as possible- culturally hot- not typical Americanized heat level. The kind man taking our order was taken a back and made sure we knew that this would involve ghost chili. We told him that would be great. The heat level was absolutely perfect for our taste. It was not incredibly painful to the point that we couldn't enjoy the meal, but truly did bring the burn, which we enjoy. We were taken aback by the perfect balance of the heat and the insane amount of flavor and quality. All in all- This place tops out all the others. We will absolutely 110% be back, and we are excited to make the special 40 min trip north to come here again. We've been there twice for take out. Once before covid and once during. First time the food was a bit greasy. Second time I picked up our food and they gave us the wrong order. I'm kind of board lately with subs and fried food, and just want something different. Always exploring and searching for something new, I decided to check this place out. It was a little difficult looking at the menu while driving to Nashua, but I was able to place an order for pickup. It was ready, very quickly! Opting for samosa and keema mutter, I figured this would be filling. I didnt realize this would last me my whole shift. Mhmmm damn it was good. The samosa was rustic, flavorful curry with a wonderful texture in the dough, carrying a moderate amount of heat. They ask if you want mild, medium, or spicey. Given the options, an executive decision was made to go for the heat! The keema mutter had a mellow flavor to start with, with the lamb and the tomato base going together very well, then finishes with heat as the spices kicks in. Yes, it packs a punch. When enjoyed with the basmati rice, there is a smooth texture and flavor profile most enjoyable, for some reason something almost creamy based on coconut milk. These were delicious and enjoyable, offering a little escape from work. We went to this restaurant as soon as it opened a few years ago and we loved the food. It was so nice to have a great Indian restaurant in Nashua. We even took friends from England there and they loved it. About a year ago the food quality and value started to drop. We stopped going for a while but thought we would give it another try today. When we entered, we received a rather cold reception and were shown our table. There were only two other tables with people. We jumped right in and did the buffet. The food was ok but certainly not as good as the Indian food we get in Massachusetts. It lacked the spices. The mango chicken didn't have much of a mango taste. It just tasted sweet. The chicken tikka masala didn't have the 'zing' that it should. Now there was nothing that was bad here, it just wasn't exceptional. We love Indian food and this place is close to home. We will return but not as often as we would if it were excellent. read more

What a nice little find, tucked in Downtown Nashua on the side street of East Pearl. Taj India packages diverse Indian cuisine, great value, a nice setting, and excellent service. The food was quite good, all around. The Taj Choice sampler was a great start, full of goodies. The garlic nan is also very good with awesome texture and fresh garlic. The entree menu has a ton of options, varying in sauces, spices, and proteins. The chickpea and paneer dishes are great, such as the karahi and the chana saag. Taj India does use a bit more earthy spices than I've had in other Indian restaurants, so sometimes an acidic component is necessary. You really can't go wrong on the menu, despite such variety between dishes and prices being right. Service, setting, beverages, and cleanlieness are all also very good. I'm pumped to have tried Taj and will be back quite often! read more

Best place for Indian food in Nashua. 4/5 times their food was consistently great. Just once it was not good (fish was old and not fully cooked from inside). But other than that single instance food has been consistently good every-time. Parking can be hard to find on some days - limited private parking. I had naan recently and it was amazing (4rth visit). Pretty much best naan I've ever had anywhere near. Worth the visit, if you are lucky food can be good or even magical. read more

We both ordered full dinners - hers with Mutter Paneer, mine with chicken. The samosas and yellow lentil soup were both very good. Mint chutney was a bit spicier than usual (not necessarily a bad thing). The naan might have been the best we've ever had! We ordered both of the curries medium spicy and we were not disappointed, although they were both just a touch sweet for my taste. This is not a great location in Nashua and, unfortunately, management doesn't seem particularly adept at marketing (we completely missed the Grand overnight even though we'd been watching for it). Step up your game, Nashua! We finally have quality Indian dining downtown. If it's going to survive, we're going to have to support it! read more

Decent food, we are from out of town and this was the first place we found, the chicken Tikka grilled looked like out a curry not the tandoor which felt weird. The star of the show was the chicken tikka massala (Spicy) it made everything better. The biryani was week but with few drops of the curry came alive. Taj is my go to Indian place. The food is consistently good. The staff are nice and I've been asked whether I want American or Indian spicy. I prefer Indian since it's more flavorful. Chicken and fish tikka are great; make sure to try the coconut stuffed naan. read more

This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Nashua. We probably eat here at least once a month (likely twice). Kat is our favorite staff member at Taj. I usually order a curry dish (chicken or lamb) for dinner. My partner would order the chicken muglai with a Punjabi nan. My one negative comment is that the level of spiciness is not consistent. A medium spiciness often is perfect, but there were a few times where a medium spiciness tasted so much spicier. Not sure if it is us or the chef was a bit heavy handed on that day. This is the first time my husband and I went to Taj India and let me tell you that the food was great. We order the garlic naan bread (definitely a good recommendation). I had the mild curry chicken and my husband had the chicken tikka and we both enjoyed it. I had a taste of his and he had a taste of mine and no complaints. The only thing that I recommend to Taj India is that the wait staff/employees didn't seem that personable (they need to somewhat interact with the customer and not be afraid); they were friendly but not really that vocal on when the meals were coming to the table. Both my husband and I were a little confused on what was what because we are not too familiar with Indian food. Other than that; I give the food, cleanliness of the restaurant and the atmosphere four stars. Definitely going back to try something different on the menu!! read more

Well this is the 4th time that I've had take out from this fine establishment and it's been tasty, plentiful and spicy each visit. Honestly, I recently tried Indian food this past year for the first time and this has set a strong benchmark. Garlic naan bread is a must if you like garlic. It really helps smooth and compliment the spicy ingredients. Next, the coconut shrimp is delicious and freshly covered. Each and every Donne special that the family and friends have ordered are a hit (Chicken Tikki Masala, Lamb Curry, Mahki Chicken and every soup) that we all shared to get the full experience. I must say...the bar layout and design in this place is awesome. Very fancy feel with a friendly, knowledgable and skilled bartender. I'm not excited for winter but it really seems like a great place to go with friends and look out the huge Windows during a snow storm haha. Anyways, give this place a shot due to their industry experience and ambiance provided. This place is absolutely incredible. We have gone twice so far and are huge fans. The portions are massive and we get about 3 meals out of what is meant for one. The food is authentic to Indian culture, the atmosphere is wonderful and staff are friendly. I met the owner and he is spectacular. They also deliver and have a flat rate fee no matter how big your order is. We can't wait to try the buffet. If you go to the Nashua location there is a female server who works the bar and helps taking orders..she is not only extremely knowledgeable with the food she is hilarious. The food is so fresh! Only downfall of the place is it can get very cold so bring a sweater..at least you will need that until after you start eating some of the spicy food :) A++! read more

This place has the best naan that I've had by far, order the garlic one! I crave lamb, so I got the lamb vindaloo which is advertised as "super hot and savory" in the description, and indeed it was hot and savory. It had a type of curry with a tomato base, which I love and they don't skimp on the lamb meat either. I had the Indian spiced iced tea to drink and it was really good. I'm from the south so I usually don't drink any tea but sweet tea, but you really didn't need sugar with the spices they added. Great food, great atmosphere, great place. read more

Absolutely fantastic! Had the chicken vindaloo, saag paneer and chicken masala with garlic and plain naan on the side. Dinner for my fiancee and I was around $50 for 3 entrees with rice and two naans which we felt was pretty reasonable. The food was excellent - medium heat was quite spicy but not overbearing, the food came out quickly, and most of all it was delicious! The best indian I've ever had. We went on a tuesday night and it was very quite (just two tables) so hopefully it's busier for them on the weekends. I will definitely be going back, everything about our meal was great! read more
