The Best North Indian Restaurant I Have Found For a long time, I had been searching for an authentic North Indian restaurant that truly delivers outstanding food. One day, while I was in Salem, New Hampshire, I discovered Kashmir Indian Cuisine, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I visited the restaurant with a group of friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tandoori specialties. The Chicken Tikka, Chicken Seekh Kabab, Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Tandoori Roti were all cooked to perfection. We also tried the Haddock Pakora as an appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. Other favorites included the Chicken Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Aloo Gobi. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with authentic North Indian spices. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the warm hospitality. The owner and the entire staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making every guest feel welcome. I was so impressed that I later hired Kashmir Indian Cuisine to cater my daughter's engagement celebration. The food was exceptional, and every guest complimented the quality, taste, and beautiful presentation. Their catering helped make our special occasion even more memorable. I have been coming here since shortly after they opened, and it has always been one of my favorite restaurants. I almost always sit at the bar and order the Mixed Tandoori Grill because it has consistently been generous, well-prepared, and worth the price. Unfortunately, my experience tonight was incredibly disappointing. The service at the bar was poor. Although there were other guests there--many of whom appeared to be regulars--the bartender spent most of his time chatting with them and largely ignored me. I had to ask three separate times before I finally received service. When my meal arrived, it was nowhere near the quality or portion I have come to expect. The Mixed Grill, which has always included generous portions of lamb, chicken, and shrimp, consisted almost entirely of chicken, with only about two small pieces of lamb and a single shrimp. It was a dramatic difference from what has been served for years. I politely mentioned this to the bartender, and his response was simply, "Tough times, less food." I found that response both dismissive and disappointing. If portions have been reduced, customers should not be paying the same premium prices without any acknowledgment. After years of consistently great meals, this was genuinely sad to experience. Spending nearly $75 on a meal that felt significantly diminished in both quality and value is hard to justify. Because of my long history with this restaurant, I may give it one more chance, but based on this visit, I cannot recommend it. We stopped after errands. First time in a while and we left very happy. Shared vindaloo goat and bharta (eggplant). One of the most satisfying meals out in a long time. The food was lovely. Fair prices and great service. They have a nice, quiet dining room as well. read more

The folks here are always happy to see you! The family runs and works the restaurant as well as the kitchen. The food is consistent and they make it to order, they have nothing pre-made!! The food was quite good and I was surprised by the portion sizes. You get half a bird when you order the tandoori chicken. Garlic naan and shrimp korma did not disappoint either. The down side was the service. We only saw our waiter when he brought our food and when he brought the bill. He didn't check in or offer more water until after we'd paid the check. The parking is sparse too. People dropping in to pick up take away orders often block others from backing out. There were also no Indian beers on offer. Found that odd. First visit on a friend's suggestion. Did not disappoint. Three of us ordered plain & garlic naan, vegetable mixed appetizer (Vegetable pakora, vegetable samosa, aloo tikka and cheese pakora), shrimp tikka masala, coconut basil chicken & goat korma. Food is delicious but I taste same food from old Punjab cafe in Quincy MA , same style I hope they might not connected as old owner of punjab cafe is retired but taste of this restaurant exactly match with their cooking style. We just found our new favorite restaurant for Indian food! The naan was the best we've had in a long time-it has that fresh off the grill flavor and wasn't greasy. The paneer pakora was so yummy-especially with the mint dip. The eggplant masala was melt in your mouth-just heavenly!! And the coconut basil chicken was delicious!! The basmati was nicely spiced and fragrant. Had a very reasonably priced glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. We are looking forward to having our leftovers for lunch tomorrow and adding Kashmir to our circuit! read more

We ordered some Naan (super fresh) it was soft, fresh and delicious We got the Chicken Saag which was absolutely amazing! We ordered it mild but I may get it medium next time to change it up. The chicken was tender, succulent and just delicious. We also ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala which was also tender, flavorful, fresh and absolutely delicious. The rice that comes with the dishes was the best rice I've ever had. I don't know what they do and I've tried a lot of rice in my life but wow... it was incredible! Now let's talk about the staff! They were very very nice, helpful, attentive, outgoing, I could go on and on! I am a big believer in good customer service and treating your guests kindly and they went above and beyond this expectation. Our water was continuously filled, we never ever had to ask for a thing because they were so attentive. We loved the inside of the restaurant. The food was flavorful and came quickly. I was hoping for the server to recommend a dish for me other than tikka masala or butter chicken but he seemed less than enthused with this request. My drink was filled when I sat down but never again and after the food came out I never saw a server again. Eventually tired of waiting and walked to the bar to pay my bill. Food is still wonderful but the service now stinks. I'm so saddened to write this. Our past few experiences there have been absolutely horrible as far as service, even though the food is amazing. Long, long wait for anyone to come to your table after you've been seated. No smiles, no welcoming, no "is there anything else I can get for you?" No "how is everything?" No "would you like something to drink?" It is horrendous. The woman there is so unfriendly and frowning and acts as if you are hated. It doesn't matter who you are. It's not cheap, either, and they charge you 3% more if you pay with a credit card! It's too bad. Went here on a recommendation and boy howdy are we glad we did. Don't ask questions, just go if you're in the mood for OUTSTANDING Indian Cuisine. We ordered garlic naan bread, tandoori roti, chicken tikka masala and chicken korma. To state that it was delicious is in understatement. Every part of this meal was wonderful. Never been here until last night! They offer different options for appetizers, chicken, fish, rice, breads, et. I got the battered chicken and shrimp, the chicken kebob, the chicken curry and the chicken tiki masala as well as an order of the plain Naan bread. They included a cracker type of crisp that was seasoned with my order, along with three dipping sauces...one looked like teriyaki sauce but with spices, another looked like a green hot sauce that reminded me of spicy avocado dressing they use at El Pollo Loco, and the other was sort of a tomato salsa and a bowl of rice. The Chicken Curry and the Chicken Tiki Masala came in three ways...either mild, medium or hot...I choose medium and it was spicy! Go mild if you can't handle heat or very spicy foods. The inside is nice, there are a few tables and a bar S you enter and then a dining room in the back. read more
