When my kids were younger, they loved the special, playful surprises they'd get after each visit. My kids are teenagers now and they still love going to Danny's office. After our attentive care, we often explore the surrounding shops and eateries. It makes for a great day out with my family.

The front desk staff remember my husband and I and kids even though we only come in a few times a year, and the hygienists are always the perfect amount of friendly without making you talk with hands in your mouth. Dr. Timbers will tell you like it is, but in a very relaxed way. I've had anxiety about the dentist in the past, and I've been to a lot of offices that go out of their way to make it friendly for people like me to extreme lengths, but this office's culture of efficiency while relaxed is more calming than any other office I could go to. No gimmicks, nothing crazy, just good dental work without the drama.

Being relatively new to San Jose, I found Cheer Dental through reviews and their proximity to my house. I was really impressed with Kate who helped with scheduling, helpful reminders and most importantly, was very helpful in ensuring we used our insurance effectively (primary + supplemental). Now on to the visit - Dr. Priya is very friendly and I was immediately aware that I was in good hands. She was extremely thorough and also transparent with what was going on inside my mouth. She was able to answer all of my questions and made the experience as pleasant as it could be. Overall, I am extremely impressed with this entire office and I feel lucky to have found a dentist I can trust that is also clearly an expert in their field.

My wife's horrible experience My wife wanted to get a…read morecosmetic procedure on her teeth for many years but we couldn't afford it. We started to save for a very long time. When Covid came she ended up not being able to work so we figured now is the best time since she would need a lot of rest. We went through the first procedure to have bone graph put in by another doctor. After 6 months of that healing we scheduled an appt with Dr. Howard Lien to have the posts put in . During day of surgery we came in and they sedated her and put in 6 posts into her upper jaw. Our follow up appointment was 1 month later during that appt he put more stitches in and said she needed a deep cleaning . Follow up appt after follow up appt each time adding more stitches and more deep cleaning. Over the 6 months of stitches my wife couldn't stand the taste in her mouth. On our 5th appt he wanted to install the teeth which we had a very bad feeling since it didn't look right. We got a second opinion and that dentist said it was the worst he's ever seen and Dr lein put to many posts in to close to each other and didn't put them deep enough. They were suppose to be 90 percent or more and he was at 70 to 80 percent. The taste my wife was tasting is the dead bone in her jaw. He spoke up about malpractice and said we would have to do everything all over. We went to 3 other specialists with every one saying the same. When we reached back out to Dr Lein to tell him and he said I will refund you the money and that he was sorry. How can you keep adding stitches and want to install the teeth if you knew it was messed up ?!?! I asked him what about the $8000.00 we had to pay for the bone surgery and he said NO since we didn't pay him for the bone graph. He completely damaged the bone graph that the previous surgeon did perfect. My wife's gums are damaged for life now and we have another year and half to two to get them to where she can have teeth with a look that was worse then when she first started. This has been a complete BOTCHED nightmare!! If you are in the market for a dentist please stay miles away from this place as Dr Lein should be banned from practicing and traumatizing patients.

In April, Dr. Eligio Arsenio performed a dental filling without informing me of any risks or offering post-treatment guidance. I received no follow-up care, no consent documents, and no warnings about potential complications. By May, I began experiencing pain, which I initially thought was due to wisdom teeth. I had all four removed -- but the pain persisted. Eventually, an oral surgeon diagnosed swelling and bone inflammation caused by the improper filling. He strongly advised me to have the filling corrected and confirmed it likely caused the issue. I later had to undergo osseous surgery and now require a root canal -- all of which could have been avoided with proper care. I've contacted the clinic multiple times over the past few weeks to request my medical records and raise my concerns. To this day, they have not responded. As a patient, I have a legal right to access my own records, and their refusal to even acknowledge my request is unacceptable and unprofessional. This experience has cost me not only money but also months of pain and anxiety. I am now filing formal complaints with the California Dental Board and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Office for Civil Rights for violation of patient rights. I hope this review helps prevent others from going through the same.
