This place was great! I was visiting for my sister's wedding and we booked a group mani/pedi/gel/acrylic nails. In any case, it was a big hodgepodge event because things changed within our group. This place was so accommodating. They managed to work with us through it all as well as taking in their other scheduled appointments. All of our bridal party's nails were great. I feel terrible that I can't remember the names of each individual but everyone who helped our group was funny, talked to us and super cool. When I visit again I'll be going back to them. Side note: my sister's gem fell off because we had to do our nails earlier than planned and when we went back they fixed the nails no questions asked and no hassle. Thank you guys!! read more

Recently got a dip mani done and they were extremely messy and uneven. After the service I expressed to my nail tech that the color was all over my cuticle and she said "pick it off at home". She rushed through the service & I even had black dots on a few of my nails from the powder and she said it's because stuff gets into the powder and leaves marks (mind you my nails were white). Never had such a messy job done and will not be returning. read more

The absolute worst experience ever!!!! I am new to the area (recently employed in WF), and found this shop online. I figured it's not too far from my job so I can swing by after work to get a fill-in. I arrived around 6:25pm, they close at 7pm. I walk in and NO ONE greets me or acknowledges my presence. So I stand there at least 10-15 minutes before either lady opens their mouth to say anything. At this point I'm totally ticked!! I understand it's late, you're tired and ready to go home but at least have the common courtesy to acknowledge and greet your clients when they walk in the door!! So the nail tech looks at me and asks "Are you getting a pedicure?" I say "No, a fill-in." She goes on to say "oh no we can't do that, we don't have time." Ok lady I've stood here a good 20 minutes already before you had the nerve to say anything only to say you can't provide any services to me. After I politely let her know that they were both very inconsiderate and need to work on their people skills regardless what time it is, I left!! I could care less if they have the best nail techs in the world, my experience was not a pleasant one and I refuse to spend money there!! read more

I was in need of a nail appt and after reading Michelle W's review, I thought it would be safe to make an appt so I wouldn't have to wait. My facialist recommended New Vision too so I thought I would give it a shot. I arrived and was immediately seated with Kim, the nail gal. I told her of my past experiences with gel nails, acrylic, and just overall negative experiences lately at some other places. She listened to me and discussed solar nails, which apparently are the big thing in California, but are not as widely known here. I decided to give them a try. She talked about my nail bed, the way it is formed, and how people who don't work with my nails in a certain way, could be doing them a disservice. What? Why has no one told me this previously? Geez! So, she did a great job and the nails look like my natural nails. With the solar, there is no light boxes needed and no drying time. I was up and at 'em when I was done with no smudges. The salon is very trendy and stylish looking, much different than most cheesy nail salons I have been to. I am so happy to have found New Vision and can't wait to return! read more

I moved here from another state and was very disappointed in the quality of the nail salons in this area, until I came to New Vision Spa and Salon. Just walking in felt different than other places. The decor has a, clean modern feel to it. My first visit, they took the time to listen to what I wanted and my concerns and assured me that if I wasn't happy with something that they would fix it. I have been going here regularly for a while now and I have gotten gel manicures, pedicures and eyebrow waxes done. I have had several different people do both my manis and pedis and I have been more than satisfied with their work! Here is why I give them a five star rating: - The place is very clean. - The people listen to what I want. - The quality of the work they do is very high. - They are friendly and polite. - If I have an appointment, I have not had to wait more than 5 minutes, they respect my time. read more

It is actually very disappointing that I'm posting this review because I've loved this salon for months. After trying multiple nail places I finally found New Vision and they did the perfect gel manicure! So I continued going back every 2 weeks for months. I went in today with my sister and like a fellow reviewer was not greeted at all. We sat and waited 30 min before Candice told us that "sorry we don't have time. Sunday is always appointments". I have no problem with respecting closing times, but when you close at 5 and we arrive at 3:30pm, either let us know when we first walk in that there probably won't be time or just squeeze us in. You might not be walking out the door at 5pm but for a customer that spends a lot of money at this salon, it would be nice to be told at least politely there wasn't time. Not in a snippy, non apologetic remark. I love this place and no one else does nails better, but this experience will certainly keep me from ever going back. read more

I've been twice for gel manicures. I will admit that my nails looked great both times. I had an appointment the first time and I walked in today. Both times I felt that they weren't prepared for the arrival of a customer. As other reviewers mentioned, it took awhile for them to acknowledge my presence. Unfortunately, Candice seemed completely annoyed by my presence. I even made an attempt at pleasantries, but she seemed disgusted by my attempt to speak to her. Maybe she was just having two off days. Anyway, Danielle (aka Donna), my first nail tech, was nice and the conversation was easy. Today's tech did a good job on my nails, but said maybe 7 words the entire time (which is fine with me because honestly I don't mind a little quiet time). I'm still torn, I may go back for the great product, but certainly not for the congeniality. I'll likely make an appointment with Danielle/Donna next time (if there is a next time). read more

I'll start off by saying that I'm not the kind of person who goes in for mani/pedis every week...for me they are a special occasion kind of thing that I do a couple of times a year, usually prior to vacations, weddings, things of that nature. This was my first visit to New Vision. I went with two friends who had been there before, because it was in a convenient location. I was signed up for a deluxe gel manicure and a deluxe pedicure, because it had been a few months since my toes had seen the light of day and I didn't want to traumatize innocent bystanders by wearing sandals with them in that condition. The first bad sign was that the girl working behind the counter completely ignored us when we walked in. We weren't even sure who we were supposed to talk to or check in with, because she was off doing her own thing, hanging out and chatting with some of the other employees. When we finally got her attention, she had us sign in and then walked off without even giving us information about where to pick our polishes. We had to get her attention again and ask, and she clearly still wasn't paying attention, because even though she had literally just checked the three of us in for gel manicures she directed us to the section of polish that was NOT gel, which meant we had to track her down AGAIN. By this point she was rolling her eyes and acting irritated at us, like we were being difficult. The nail tech who took care of me was a bit better, although she also seemed distant and distracted and really wasn't paying attention to what she was doing to my nails. She kept turning around to watch TV. At one point she gouged out a huge chunk of my cuticle and it started bleeding profusely. And I get it, stuff like that happens sometimes, but it happened because she clearly wasn't watching what she was doing. And instead of apologizing she spent the next five minutes chastising me for having dry cuticles, like it was my fault somehow. And I'm not exaggerating when I say my cuticle was sore and scabbed over for almost a week after the manicure. The absolute final straw was the fact that the gel manicure I got did not even last A WEEK before it started to peel off. Four days after the manicure, one of my nails had peeled off completely, and just about every other nail was peeling and chipping to some degree. Ironically, the regular polish on my toes stayed on longer than the gel nails. For the amount of money I spent on the service, the results and the overall tone of the experience was completely unacceptable. I will not be returning. read more

Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. They let my daughter pay and leave with the sloppiest full set I've ever seen. She asked for a light pink, oval shaped gel set. What she got was coral misshaped acrylic with polish on her cuticles and finger tips and glue caked under a few nails. Even when we returned the next day the only person who seemed apologetic was the receptionist. The "fix" was rushed and still looked that way. We will not be returning. read more

New to the area, and saw a lot of great reviews on a Yelp. My nails desperately needed a fill, and it's getting difficult to find a place to do acrylics. So I called, and lucked out and got in for a fill and a pedicure with Kim. I'm not good with change, had been going to the same girl for 20 years up North, so I was a little skeptical. But Kim did a fantastic job, my nails look perfect. I opted for the deluxe, warm pedicure. My feet haven't felt this pampered in years. Kim massaged the stress right out of me, and my feet are looking sandal perfect. Everyone there is friendly and helpful and made me feel like a regular and not a newbie. I have been getting my nails done here since the 8th grade - which is 6 years! Every other nail salon that I go to is never as good as New Vision. I recently moved to Hilton Head, SC for college and I seriously wait until I come back home to Wake Forest, NC to get my nails done because nothing pleases me after receiving the best service from New Vision! Candace and Lum do amazing jobs, as do the other nail techs. They always remember me and update me on their lives as well as I update them on mine. Candace and I's relationship has gotten to a point where I normally let her select my nail color because I am so indecisive and she always picks the best color that she knows I will love! Candace can do any nail style you ask for, whether it is a specific nail shape or style.. she can do it! Got my nails done with Kim. But it wasn't properly finished and it was big mess on my own nail bed. She was always fooling around, not taking anything or any of client serious like professional. After JUST 1.5 WEEK after I got my nails done, they were popping off my nails! I had nails done for long time and never this bad and so short period of time to have nails for a freaking $40 bucks. I have been going to Kim to get my nails done for over 3 years. She always does a great job! I typically get gel mani, pedi, and an eyebrow wax. Kim only does eyebrows when you're booking her for other services as well (at least in my experience). My nails always last at least 2 weeks, often close to 3. New Vision were there for me when I needed them most. I literally drove over right after I had the worst pedicure ever from Ava nails down the street. I told them that I needed help desperately to correct all the mistakes done from the pedicure I just had. Candice, one of the owners, sat me down right away, was so sweet, and got right to correcting everything. She gave me a whole new pedicure and did an awesome job cleaning all of my nail beds and ingrowns! She wasn't afraid to really get in there and do what needed to be done, which is what I need from a nail technician. I was offered a glass of wine with my pedicure which was awesome. The co-owner Lum did my gel manicure because Candice had an appointment come in. He did a good job as well. I told him to cut my nails short and boy did he! A little too short but that's ok, they will grow fast, and after all I did tell him to make them short. They were painted very well. There were a few spots of paint on my fingers but that will wash off anyway. Plus, because my nails were so short they were hard to paint. They don't carry a lot of Essie polish which is what I am used to but the owner said if there was a color I wanted they would order it for me to keep at the store! Everyone in the salon was extremely nice! Candice even discounted me the pedicure because she knew I had just paid $26 for a terrible one down the street. I paid for two pedicures in one day, but hey you live and learn. I just moved to the area and was looking for a nail salon to become my regular stop. I visited this salon yesterday so that I would have cute nails before a beach trip with my best friends. I usually get just polish but this time I decided to get dip. My nail person did an awesome job, he talked to me while doing my nails & was overall a really nice guy. I choose a light blue color but it came out more of a grayish blue. It wasn't what I was expecting but I actually turned out liking it a lot! My only complaint is that when he was using that sponge thing to buff up the nail, he gave me a paper-cut like scratch just above my cuticle. This was my first time at this salon and I came because of the good reviews on Yelp. I'd gone to other Wake Forest salons and gotten an infection from one and the other... my nails always lifted and chipped before the 2 weeks were up. I've also experienced "nail burn" under the UV lights and bleeding from the technician filing my nails down too far/hard. Now, I'm admittedly hard on my nails. I play golf, cook, clean my house etc... But, I keep them active length and don't think it's too much to ask to have healthy nails that stay put for 2 weeks. I saw Kim and she explained Solar Nails to me and why they'd be the best fit for my needs. I don't like "fake" looking fake nails, and was really surprised how natural they looked even with tips put on. I then had a pedicure with the owner and he was thorough and polite. My feet look and feel great and the whole experience was pain free (as it should be.) The price was reasonable and I'm very pleased. I didn't have an appointment and they saw me right away. The real test will be how my nails hold up in 2 weeks. I met 2 other female customers while there that boasted about how well their nails also hold up. I had been to this salon before with adequate service, but after my last visit I will not be returning. First of all, their prices are extremely high for the product you receive. Second of all, the two nail artists working on my nails and my sisters were very rude and inconsiderate. My feet weren't scrubbed properly and I have paint all over my skin. SECOND the shape isn't too bad, but there are VERY thick parts on my nails. I decided to try somewhere new because my usual nail guy was booked and my nails were horrible! I read the reviews and decided to try this salon. when I came in, a young guy took me back to do my gel fill. he was nice enough, and told me he owned the salon. after getting my nails done for 15 years, it didn't take me long to figure out he was not very experienced. long story short, this is by FAR the worst my nails have EVER looked!! not one is the same shape or length, they are lumpy, thick, the sides are not painted, and it looks like I already need a fill in!
