Good : past install Needs improvement: details per construction guidelines quotes are a basic requirement of any project. Go to Walmart/Office Depot and find yourself a project quote booklet. I think they should be more transparent about what they charge for, how much, if anything set a standard. As different sales people kept repricing the task. Ditch the junk fees, it won't help you. The quality, immense variety options, and ginormous room size spools of carpets so you can see what an entire room would look like instead of the small cut out samples blows away all other carpet stores. I was worried after entering I would be overwhelmed with all the options, however this was not the case. We were greeted by Tom who answered all our questions and concerns and steered us to exactly what we were looking for. He never once upsold us or oversold us. We ended up upselling ourselves! They have every tier of grade carpet, and their high end is truly high end! .. not the mid range that carpet stores tell you is premium.(that's just sales talk) For me to be so excited by carpets is shocking! I not only found the PERFECT carpet but just before I headed out the door, I also found 2 gorgeous area rugs that I was NOT looking for .....just out of pure awe when I saw it. I was referred by my contractor who swears by this place in all the luxurious homes, as we were already going to have him install ones we had previous picked out out of limited availability and small sample visuals. I'm so glad he steered us here! Adding carpet is not just functional, choosing the right one is important because it's a visual statement when you walk into a room. Now add quality, comfort, and design. I literally had to force someone to come here after they were determined to choose another that was not even close to being as nice. Terrible experience purchasing my carpet from here. They force you to leave a deposit (non-refundable) so you are stuck with them and then the installers come out and they increase the pricing. In my case, the installers measured incorrectly and didn't install carpet in the downstairs closet (which was supposed to be included) and then said I needed to pay for additional carpet at the end. I also believe they used cheaper padding based on the feel of the carpet since it doesnt seem plush/soft at all compared to another place that just put in the same thickness of padding as the one I ordered. read more

This review is primarily about the installers chosen and contracted through NY Carpets. Although I really enjoy the material purchased, the install team led by Hector is absolutely awful. Furniture scratched everywhere, my entertainment center top scratched to pieces, my newly added window film now has holes and needs to be replaced. My bed frame was broken in half then gently rested back in place in hopes I wouldn't notice. The flooring itself - two large gashes in the laminate planks where they dropped tools. Baseboards installed crooked. Nails in the carpet, nail holes in baseboards not covered up, my front door wouldn't close and I had to waive them down before leaving. Hector or his crew returned 3 more times to fix the damaged flooring. One of those times was to remove the 6" high bubble that spanned about 100sq ft of the living room making my house incredibly dangerous to walk on, which he blamed my house for instead of the failure by his team to leave a large enough expansion gap next to the walls (after the gap was made, no issues). Every repair took about 10 texts and 4 phone calls to finally get Hector back to my house, he kept rescheduling and I kept having to escalate back to NY carpets for help getting him out here. From install day 1 to finish of the repairs - 5.5 months!!!!!!!!!!! Highly recommend to use your own installers or just go somewhere else. Absolutely not worth the trouble. read more

Hate to write this review as i initially had a great experience with John a few months back when i came in the find carpet for my new build home. The home is finally completed so i called today to get scheduled for them to come out and measure. I called and spoke to Lou who advised me they have no installers in the area for the next two weeks and that's the only way they can come out to measure if someone is already in the area. I wanted the carpet installed in the next week or so, but i guess they don't need business. Normally i would price anything before buying it but i didn't with this carpet as i really liked John and his customer service. If you are looking for remnant carpets, STEER CLEAR OF NEW YORK CARPETS! I found a unique piece of carpet that was the perfect size. Paid for it. About a week later, when their vendor who does the binding for area rugs unrolled the carpet, I get a call telling me that the carpet was stained and they can't make the rug. Then the sales rep, Jose, proceeds to tell me that I would need to pick something else, because the owners won't issue a refund. I don't know if the carpet was even stained. For all I know, they never tagged it because after I paid for it, Jose was helping another customer and I was concerned so I went back to ask him to please tag my carpet as sold. So they could have sold it to someone else. Every couple of week, I would receive a call from them telling me I needed to get into the store and choose a new remnant piece. I asked for a refund and the female harassing me on the phone said she'd talk to the owner. I never heard back from her. I finally got back into the store and they didn't have anything even similar to what I had purchased. Jose made me feel like it was my fault they sold a damaged remnant. Started telling me he didn't appreciate how I was talking to him when I told him I didn't care for any remnants and felt I should be able to receive a refund because IT WAS THEIR FAULT THEY PUT an unsellable/ damaged carpet on the sales floor. There are plenty of flooring stores in Anaheim, steer clear of this one!! PS- Yelp needs a zero stars option. read more

So Glad we came here!! After not being sure if shopping for a carpet, was a good idea. Due to our current State situation (Covid-19), we decided to visit a few places! Sadly some were not open on the weekends. Thankfully NY carpets was open Our customer adviser was John very wise and friendly always wore a mask and kept his (6 ft) distance while showing us the many different options of color, texture, and brand. Didn't take long before we decided on the perfect color! He was fast and efficient, he did explain special order carpets take a few extra days. He said he would follow up with a phone call with time and date of installation!! And So my pictures will show the final results of their services!! Came in after being referred but unfortunately my experience was not as smooth. I did a complete remodel and then had carpets installed from my stairs to my complete upstairs. I worked with Patti and she was awesome but how they handled the defect in the padding and damages to my home was very frustrating. They had two gentleman come in scuff, scratch my newly stained stairway by dragging their things up and down. Fast forward now 3 years the carpet is bunching up in some places in the house. I wouldn't recommend and now need to find a new place to replace my carpets that we are barley home and can't live with anymore. read more

My husband and I purchased carpet from NY Carpets in December 2021. We are happy with the quality of the carpet, but very unhappy with everything else (please read on!). First, when we visited the warehouse after arranging with manager Mandy Kotev to come by on a certain day, the numerous employees there barely gave us a passing glance. When we explained that measurements had already been taken of our house, no one could immediately find those measurements, and we were passed along from associate to associate. We were later provided a quote for materials and installation, and I paid what I was told was a "deposit" equal to the full price of materials. (I just discovered that I was overcharged $30 for such deposit.) When the installers came to our house, one of the workers said that we had not been quoted the correct installation price. He advised us not to tell NY Carpets, though; instead, we could pay him a little something extra, which he promised would save us money. This sounded a bit underhand/illegal, so I contacted Mandy, and she confirmed that the estimate was off by $150. Once installation was complete, the workers requested direct payment via check. I was unaware of this payment arrangement, as I understood that I would be paying the remainder of costs to NY Carpets. I talked to Mandy on the phone, and she told me to give them a check; otherwise, she would have to charge me an additional $500 or more. Later on, I contacted Mandy with my concerns about the process. (In addition to the above, I noted to her that during the installation period, I heard the toilets in my home flush multiple times without ever hearing the faucets running - not very professional or hygienic!) In response, Mandy was completely uncaring, unhelpful, and defensive, arguing instead that she had saved us a lot of money. She did not offer an apology or try to make reparations of any kind. Therefore, even though the quality of the carpet is great, I wouldn't recommend NY Carpets to anyone. read more

She was very professional and knowledgeable with the product. I'm in sales myself and don't like to be pushed. Ariel was just easy and explained The difference in each pattern and durability. From upon locating the place of business I did notice they had plenty of parking,and visible signage. We walked in very nice and clean. They didn't have a Welcome sign so I did have to ask fork lift operator who or where do I go?? He kindly pointed to these lovely ladies chatting it up. I was told by one gal I will send someone to assist you shortly. We waited looked around, hence so many pictures. With a great attitude and super happy guy walks up our Customer Service Rep named Mike. He immediately asked us if we needed help. We shared with him we are newbies to this showroom and really don't know what were doing but I did check their website and had already chosen the carpet. He walked us over to the roll that we had snapped a picture of. We felt the sample,asked us a few questions and offered us a seat in his lil desk area. My hubby was told we have these two foams for underneath. He once again showed us the samples. We made our decision, paid for the transaction,and out the door within 15minutes!! SERIOUSLY, that was super simple and to the point. I truly appreciated his time and knowledge of the padding and footage we needed. With invoice in hand and an elbow bumb he waived us by.We are picking it up on Saturday! Again Mike you were awesome and great customer service. IF ONLY all transactions in life were this easy. Beware of using this business if you're not fully committed to moving forward with the project. I had a very unfortunate experience with Tom (salesperson) and Allison (manager/owner) whereby they would not release my deposit due to my wanting to move my install date until the next year but not knowing exactly when the job will be completed. I needed to move the date because I have a newborn and it has been difficult to coordinate getting him away from home in order for the demo to take place. I expected as a show of good faith and because zero work was completed they would be customer focused and release the deposit since all they did was measure once which is an estimate every installer does complimentary. Allison specifically said on the phone that because they "measured" and I called to place an order that this constituted work and meant they would need to keep the deposit. Now I know this business does not care about their client experience and also isn't family friendly. My recommendation is to keep searching for a different carpet installer and not use NY Carpets! read more

As far as I am concerned New York Carpet sucks! Be careful of giving them a non refundable deposit. When they came out to measure they came up with more yardage then I measured. I had another flooring company come out and they were charging me with 10 more yards then I needed. Padding seems to me they charge for the same amount of carpet but padding is figured by the sq foot. There is no waste. I would never go back to them again. A reputable carpet company would not make you pay a deposit to come out and measure. I would give no stars if I could. read more

Straight forward the owners of this place are mess and incompetent. They don't even know what they are selling . I bought redwood flooring as shown in pictures from this store , Alison Russell (daughter of the owner was the lady who sold it to me ) informing me that they have matching stair nose that I oreder that, in addition I asked for padding underneath the flooring and paint for redwood ,padding and stair noses in cash . She said they will be ready by Thursday. My contractor went there and only the redwood flooring was ready for pickup , no stair nose and no padding . The day after I had to go and pick up the stair nose and still no padding underneath . One of pictures shows the stairs nose and redwood color difference while I was told they have matching stair nose for the flooring I chose. This lady is incompetent as she doesn't even know what is she selling. I was mad as my contractor that I pay daily was there ready to work on stairs and there is no material. So I lost a week already because of their incompetence. She was supposed to inform me Monday morning if they could find matching stairs nose , I waited until 2pm and no call . I called the store and her dad ( the owner picked up) an one of his statement was , there is no logic here , it is what it is . And I said can you come pick up the material , he said no bring my material to get your money . In this proccess I lost almost 200 dollars for the transportation, at least a work day , another almost 1000 dollars for the contractor time and 1 week delay of home remodeling as well as hearing the nonsense and ton of stress and anxiety and this guys didn't dare to say they are sorry that they didn't know what they are selling and only blamed manufacturer .
