Came in with 18 people, bought like 6 large pizzas, drinks for everyone, wings and more. A small pizza was made wrong. Asked for it to be remade and the register person goes "either pay for the other pizza or we aren't remaking it". Receipt clearly showed we ordered correctly. Seemed silly to not just make the pizza for my 13 year old after messing it up. We come in maybe 4-5 times per year for tournaments and will never come back here. read more

Fresh pizza, delivered HOT in the City of Alameda. That's what I got on a cool Sunday evening. I had a $10 credit on my Seamless App, so I used it on a Medium Combination Pizza with Extra Mozzarella and extra ground beef. Whoa, what a nice combo pizza! I added extra mozzarella to insure it had a creamy blanket of cheese. Last time there wasn't enough cheese. The extra ground beef was there to balance any salty pepperoni. Now, I don't know if this is legit New York style pizza. My friend in NYC says ONLY pizza made in New York can be a NY Pizza. According to him, there's no transplants. But this is a good combo pizza. NY Pizza uses their own drivers, so you don't pay any extra service fees. Seamless gave me free delivery. So you just pay for the pizza, sales tax, and tip. Cheaper if you order directly. I was glad to hear that New York Pizza delivers without having to go through Door Dash or GrubHub service. This would have been a good option had the pizza been good. Their combo didn't have a lot of the toppings you would get in a typical combo and you can't fold it like a New York slice as the crust was thin but also stiff too. Also got some wings which i thought was better than the pizza but i specifically asked for the wings to be dry and with sauce on the side. Price for these items was like $50 which i thought was a little pricey. May need to go through Door Dash to get the pizza I want or drive myself. read more

ALMOST THERE!!! I'm a New Yorker and this is the closest thing to New York Street Pizza I've found out here. No wonder.... the owner is in New Yorker! The cheese and the crust are perfect and that is no small feat! But it is definitely short on tomato sauce, which is too bad because it would be the perfect blend of the flavors if it had an extra schmear of the tomato sauce underneath the cheese. There is also a mysterious slightly sweet flavor, like sugar... not sure why or where that comes from, but NY Street Pizza lives and dies on its Savory blend of flavors. I am a big fan of this pizza place! Pesto cheese pizza made fresh daily. I usually don't like too many toppings on my pizza, and so this one is perfect. It's OK. Atmosphere is not your typical warm and welcoming place to hang out. It was quiet with only the ceiling fan occasionally making a thumping sound as it spun. They had very few soda options (almost all of which only available in a 2 liter bottle). We opted for fountain sodas, but the machine looked old and falling apart. None of the soda brands were anything we've ever heard of. After we ordered and paid we never even got our drinks we had to ask for them. It was only then that they told us they had no diet soda. I don't know how you can have no idea that you have no diet soda in a fountain dispenser that is behind your register. So there was zero diet soda in the place unless you wanted a 2 liter. Anyways.... I originally wanted a slice of pizza but they had none ready. Bizarre because that's what they advertise. So we ordered a medium 14" veggie which was about $26. While it was not bad, it was definitely not what I expected for New York style. I wanted that thin, crispy crust. It was more like doughy bread. I wanted extra sauce, if it was there it wasn't evident. But what took away stars for me was the total lack of tomatoes, and overkill on the olives. It was like he ran out of tomatoes and thought he could get away with not cutting more. (See pic for our 2 end pieces of tomato on pizza). And wheres the mushrooms? Overall, just meh, and probably not going to come back. If they ever do have pizza by the slice, I would try that instead. Delivery order. First time ordering from this place. Decided to give it a try. Ordered a medium mushroom and olive pizza. Crust was very light and cooked perfectly. Pizza was really lacking with the ammushrooms and they were cut so thin couldn't taste them at all. Disappointed in that. All in all the pizza was good but nothing spectacular. I remember when they opened but after today I won't be coming back. The owner no longer works in the pizzeria and has hired staff (it's been like this for a while now). The tall skinny man in charge of the cashier and calls is usually kind. But has been quite rude the last few times. Tonight he snatched my money out of my hand when I went to pay. After I gave him the money in his hand, he put the money back down on the counter rather than giving it in my hand. I said "Hey you must be having a pretty bad day. I hope it gets better, but please don't be rude to me. I'd appreciate it if you place the money in my hand." Looking sheepish he proceeded to avoid eye contact and doubled down snatched the signed receipt from my hands and with a smirk he says "Well you didn't give it to me in my hand" like an elementary kid. Very interesting sauce that had sneaky heat, our pie was perfectly gooey on top with a lilting crunch at the edges, and all the toppings were premium and flavourful I highly recommend their pizza for those nights when pizza is the choice :) read more

This place is on the way home from work, so I come here physically to pick up my pie. Since everything is fresh and delicious expect a wait time, but you're right on park street so there's a ton of different stores and things to do to entertain yourself while your pie cooks. Owner is a great man, wonderful guy to talk to if you can find the time since he's on the line working as hard as his workers, that's when you know the store owner cares about the quality of the food they're giving out. I got a large combo and brought it home on a Friday and was hoping for some leftovers for the weekend too. It didn't even last until Friday night when I got it home. Food was absolutely amazing with fresh and delicious ingredients and masterfully crafted. It might just be me, mainly living in Oakland but I can't find a good and affordable pizza place that delivers to save my life anymore. New York Pizza is absolutely amazing and the fact that I can pick it up before heading home is a huge plus. Parking is street parking but there's usually always a spot available luckily. Although I think it would be best if I order my pizza before getting off work to help with the time. Inside the restaurant it's a pretty small place and has maybe about 4-5 tables? They also serve beer so a good place to head to if you're out partying on Park Street and want some good ass pizza afterwards. Great place, I really need to go here more often. Went here a week ago to grab a few slices of cheese and it was pretty good. Service was quick and the older man running it was nice. Went back today and a different pie guy is chatting away with a buddy completely ignoring me. I ask for a couple slices of cheese and he says they don't have slices. 1 star off for slightly rude experience, but then in my mind I created a story to justify this behavior - if this is NY pizza and these guys are from NY, then it's fair game for them to be rude lol. I just popped in for a casual slice of cheese pizza for a snack lol. It was $3.55 + tax = $3.90. At first, I asked for it and I felt like they weren't super customer friendly which is why I mention the slightly rude experience. But actually, later when the guy wrapped up my pizza, he was nice and said "have a nice day" or something to that effect. He wrapped it all up but then I had to reopen it to add red pepper flakes, parmesan, oregano - ya know, the spices! The good stuff! They were just in little glass shakers on the counter. I used them and then used a bottle of hand sanitizer right there, so I appreciated that being there. I walked out of there (of course, no indoor dining at this time), and happily ate the pizza like a classy lady does, whilst walking along the sidewalk! Lol I was so satisfied. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Great pizza, thin and fold-able, just like the New York Pizza I remember. I loved the clean atmosphere, this is a new location for this place. They front guy open since "1987" but I have never seen or been in this restaurant, in any different location here in Alameda. Great selection of beverages, including alcohol. I noticed they have the Adolph Coors short stubby bottle beers, the banquet beer. Very unique, and cool. The sauce has a delicious taste, and texture, great ingredients, and great crust. I can always tell a good pizza by how "delicious" it is the next day, and this pizza was awesome, the next day, when my family finished it. I thought pricing was very good, comparable to many other fancy pizza places. I also love the "by the slice" availability, another "staple of New York style pizza joints. I remember places like Blondie's here on the West Coast doing that, and many others, but nothing like a true Pizza joint offering slices. I will likely take them up on it, whenever I head over to the movies, or some other walking activity. When I called to file a complaint I asked for the owner and the owner which was talking on the phone said that he is an employee and he can't do anything. Ordered through DoorDash, and New York Pizza made our order with the wrong topping, which unfortunately included something we couldn't eat. I notified DoorDash and went with the solution of having the pizza remade to give New York Pizza another chance. When the dasher arrived to pick up the reorder. the restaurant refused to make the order because "it already had been picked up" and cancelled it. I called and the employee on the phone both denied cancelling the order but at the same time kept saying they already made it - despite me telling them they made it wrong and DoorDash sent them an order to remake it.
