Squid ink pasta with rock shrimp and heirloom tomatoes and lobster broth
    Con C.

Fabulous meal all around! Came around 1pm on Sunday and seated right away. Place was busy but not full. Knowledgeable staff and service. Clean elegant dining room and open kitchen to see everything. Started with the calamari appetizer which was light and airy, not greasy and very crispy. Squid ink pasta with rock shrimp was light and the tomato sauce was great to soak up with the bread. Favorite was the seafood and spinach with grilled bread, succulent scallops and calamari. Lasagna was super meaty and huge portion. Ended the meal with a tiramisu and vanilla bean ice cream. One of my new favorite places!

One of Alameda's hidden gems for fine dining. I've eaten here countless times with family and friends. Owner Joseph (Head Chef) & Christina are super friendly welcoming guest as they come in the door. Barry, Jose & Nico were friendly waiters whom served me for years. The food is nicely presented and taste fantastic. Certain items on the menu can be edited and cooked to your liking. They have a full service bar separate from the dining room with all the drinks, cocktails, alcohol accommodations. Indoor, outdoor, patio seating. I recommend reservations during the weekends!

It was one of my world famous solo dates and I was in the mood for something Italian so off to Trabacco I went! I made a reservation online, but I headed in and snagged a seat at the bar instead. Th restaurant itself was busy, but as a solo adventurer I love me a seat at the bar. I was greeted with Niko and the gang who were so incredibly kind and provided honestly the fastest service I've had in quite a while! I sat down *Boom* Menu *Boom* Drink * Boom* Cocktail, Dinner, Dessert Wine* and all throughout I was chatting it up with the staff and having a great time. I love a place that has amazing customer service, It was a lovely and wonderful touch to have the owner come through the restaurant and checking on everyone. Such a nice part of my time here. For my cocktail, I had the delicious cosmo! So good ad refreshing! Absolutely loved it. For my entree, I grabbed the duck and it was so yummy and flavorful. This came out mighty fast and in a lovely sauce!! Super grand time at Trabacco! Absolutly loved the atmosphere and food. Ill definitely visit again!

    Polenta and spinach w/lemon wedge

Celebrated a birthday with an artisan colleague. We were cordially seated outdoors on the patio as it was a beautiful day. Nicolo was our server and shared the specials of the day. We opted for the Salmon special served with spinach and polenta. The entree was cooked perfectly, the tomato sauce with capers and olives was deliciouso, oooh la la. Service was on point as Nicolo checked in on us from time to time. Had to request a to go box as we can have another meal later. We shared a special dessert, compliments of Trabocco. Love, love Trabocco

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for a drink before dinner. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the nice ambience. Wanted to try something new, so ordered limoncello spritz. You have to like lemon to enjoy this drink as the lemon flavor is not subtle at all. Refreshing on a hot day. Ordered a Bloody Mary also, which was refreshing. We got a fish carpaccio, but I can't remember what kind of fish it was! It was very thinly cut, but to the point where we had to scrape it off the plate, which was kind of a weird experience. Good balance of salt from the fish and zest from the sauce. The amount of micro greens was a bit much. Overpowered everything else. Overall, don't need to order this dish again.

Went with a group of 6 ladies tonight and had a great family style meal with cocktails, beer, and mocktails. Service was excellent and I love how the servers have all worked at this restaurant for a long time - staff retention is a rare thing these days. The burrata and prosciutto appetizer was very tasty and the beet salad was refreshing and healthy. We enjoyed the prosciutto pizza that had a nice truffle scent. The pastas were also excellent - we had the oxtail ravioli and the butternut squash agnolotti. The mixed seafood platter was very good and they added additional shrimp and scallops for us. The branzino and salmon were my favorite. Nice selection of cocktails, beer, and mocktails. The dessert menu has a nice variety. We got the zabaglione with berries and the chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream to end the night. Def a nice place for large groups to get dinner and drinks.

Came here on a Saturday night without a reservation about 7pm. Wait time was about 20 minutes. There was a steady stream of people and they were pretty busy the whole night. I've been here a couple times prior. We ordered a pizza for an appetizer to share in addition to our individual entrées of the spaghetti del trabocco, the lasagna, and the ravioli con coda. The pizza with the Italian sausage had a lightly spicy kick and the thin crust was perfectly crispy. The pizza was great. It was salty and savory without being overly heavy. All of our pasta entrées were delicious too. Good flavor and filling without leaving you feeling too stuffed. We had leftovers too. My favorite was the tiramisu that we shared. It was moist and lightly sweet and it helped end the meal on a great note! The restaurant can be a little loud if they're busy, but otherwise it has a great ambiance. Great place to stop by in Alameda-even Alysa Liu loves this place!

This place is great for what Alameda has to offer. They're jokesters here - so if you're sensitive - just beware that the servers here are comfy and joking right off the bat! Personally I don't mind it - we had a friend who wasn't so into it... the food was terrific. I was afraid the pulpo wasn't gonna be good after seeing it arrive in cut bits - but my one year old was loving it and barely left me any. The beet salad was delicious and bright - the branzino wasn't perfectly deboned but it was pretty darn close! Loved it with the lemon squeeze and olives! My hubs said the ribeye was good and that their polenta was smooth a tad over runny but still tasty. Can't give a full five stars because for the pricepoint it isn't necessarily taste buds blown away - but what i did love is that they didn't force gratuity... it's a rarity nowadays and to see these guys treat us well and not expect 18% or 25% and force it was very refreshing. Our group of 9 still tipped 20% because we were a large party and nothing fell through the cracks... service was definitely a plus!

This was our 3rd visit to Trabocco's all to celebrate birthdays...this time my sister's Reservations were made through Open-Table. Arrived a few minutes early and noticed both the outdoor patio and indoor dining room were packed. No fear, our table for 3 was awaiting us Service: top notch service was provided by Marshall who was our server when we came last year for my niece's birthday. He's been w Trabocco for over 10 years and he speaks highly of working there. We have met the Chef/Owner before. He was kind enough to chat with us and take a photo. Food: Every dish's presentation was spot on and tasted fabulous! Appetizer was our FAV Pizzeria Cristina Entree: Brodetto Alla Vastere (seafood stew). Substituted the shrimp w additional scallops Special: squidink risotto and grilled seafood platter (a daily special Thank you Marshall for being our server and Chef-owner Giuseppe for a wonderful evening at your restaurant Will definitely see you soon

Oxtail ravioli is a must, and filling!

Best enjoyed w company bc entrees are pricey but oh so tasty, and it's challenging to choose just 1 or 2! Beautiful outdoor seating on a warm day in Alameda. Service was great and authentic. Just came back from Italy so this place hit the spot for me being home now.

    Polipo e Patate
    Stephanie T.

I've been here a couple of times and they haven't disappointed me yet! I'm a sucker for pasta with seafood so I always opt for the Polipo e Patate appetizer and Spaghetti del Trabocco, which comes with mussels and shrimp. Both are delicious! A little on the pricy side, but at least they give a good portion. In both experiences, I haven't had bad service. The servers I've had are on top of things and make sure to keep your water refilled, while frequently checking in on things. I also love the ambiance inside the restaurant. It feels cozy despite looking a little more fancy.

Had an anniversary lunch today and it was fantastic. Excellent service and the food was perfect. Had the calamari appetizer, lasagna, and Margherita pizza. Definitely will be back more often.

I am glad we were able to be seated as almost all the tables were filled when we came around 7pm on a Saturday night. Our server explained the specials and although we didn't order any, it sounded good. Now I wish I could say I enjoyed the food but there really wasn't anything special about any of our dishes. $20 for calamari felt like we were being robbed and the quantity did not make up for the quality. The ravioli came with 4 ravioli that was covered in sauce and melted cheese. The spaghetti was ordinary with not a lot of seafood to really make it worth the price. The panna cotta is probably the only thing that saved our meal and appetites. Might come back to try the pizza but not the pasta again.

Ask the Community - Trabocco Kitchen & Cocktails

    How large are the pizzas?

Large , can feed 3-5 depending on appetites!

    What's the uncorking fee?

Our corkage fee is $20/bottle for up to three bottles -- any additional bottles beyond three will be $25/bottle.

Is it possible to bring in a small birthday cake?

Yes, of course - there is a $1.50/person cake service fee.

Are disability animals prohibited on the patio?

Technically, they allow them, but they will grill you on what your disability is, which is against the law. Definitely not a dog friendly place in any case. I recommend you go elsewhere if you have a dog, service animal or otherwise.

Do you still not allow dogs on your patio?

Thank you for checking first - no, we do not allow any pets at Trabocco.

    Can we order take out?

Yes, takeout is available for pickup only, no delivery.

Are pets allowed on the patio?

Thank you so much for checking first -- no, we do not allow pets on the patio.

Did you guys have the panini on the menu available or No?

Yes, now that we are again open for outdoor dining and are serving lunch we have the panini available.

Have you already opened the restaurant?

Ciao Stephany - not quite yet! Very soon. We are reopening for takeout service starting on Thursday, June 4!

When would you open the restaurant again? My family and I miss it

Hi Stephany - We miss you and all of our guests too!…

When will they open the restaurant again?

I haven't heard yet but I will be in the area this week, if I go by there I will let you know.

Do They have vegan pasta and what it is?

Ciao Stephany - The two previous responders are correct that there is no vegan pasta on the menu…

Is a reservation required? Me and 2 other friends want to have lunch here around 12 Noon to 2 PM.

No, reservations to Trabocco at lunch time are not required, but probably helpful. However, if you don't care where you sit, you can usually just show up ( unless you have a large party), and find a table.

    Are the noodles from scratch?

Yes, we make fresh pasta in-house daily.

Are dogs allowed in the patio?

No, pets are not allowed on the patio.

Is this place good for groups?

Yes! You can make reservations and they have a few larger tables, private room and patio area that could be perfect for a birthday

We then put in a second order of drinks and waited about 30min without receiving anything. I ended up going to the bar and asking another bartender if our drinks were being made/ever entered and he apologized and said they had not. My favorite part is their collection thoughtful, balanced, complex drinks. If you want a variety of delectable old fashioneds with different spirits -- you're in luck! ---- Drinks ---- The cocktails are the main reason we keep coming back! Old Fashioned menu. They actually have several varieties and I've really appreciated how they use a different spirit for each! I won't review every single one, but you can't go wrong based on what flavor profile you want. They're all relatively sophisticated, balanced, spirit-forward, and consistently well made. The rest of the cocktail menu is equally thoughtful. Complex, creative, and well executed without trying too hard or going over the top with flavors or presentation. The food is delicious as well although we're usually just here for drinks before/after a meal. More small bites than full meals, but everything we've had has been tasty and pairs well with the drinks.
