Have been to Marley Gs many times but it had been a while so stopped by before a movie and had an amazing slice of their Sicilian, which was cheesy, the tomato sauce was well-seasoned and the crust was soft yet crispy where it should be. I also added hot honey to my cheese slice and that added so much flavor and will be going back again for those slices and adding hot honey, or arugula, etc to upcoming visits! Marley G's has some of the best service I've ever experienced at a pizzeria and it's only beat by the quality of the food! Their regular pizza is phenomenal but I'm truly a fan of their amazing Sicilian slices. But the absolute best thing they have is a cheesesteak (seasonal). Stopped in to grab a $6 slice of their seasonal pizza: Sesame crust vodka sauce. This includes mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, vodka sauce, kalamato olives, basil, and a few thinly shaved slivers of prosciutto ham. They change their specialty pizza every season. This one was tasty and hit all the right notes for savory and slightly salty (from the kalamato olives), atop a perfectly thin sesame seed sprinkled crust. Why didn't we not try this place sooner! We 1st tried the Marley G's on the base then decided to try the restaurant on Park st. We have been extremely happy with food from both locations. The restaurant on Park st offers delivery. The Marley G's on the base located inside Alamanc brewery is good too but is pick up or eat inside/outside the brewery. Today we ordered the garbage pie and added ham. It was delicious and hearty. We have not been inside the restaurant yet and our orders have been online only so as of right now we cannot comment on the service or the staff. I was in Alameda and was looking for a convenient Dinner to take home after a long day at work. I was walking down Park Ave. and I saw this place right across from the place I had stopped for a scoop of Ice Cream. Yes, don't judge but I couldn't wait for dinner before I indulged in dessert, but besides the point ; Pizza sounded like a really good idea. I had ordered a pie called Garbage pie which was a Pepperoni, Sausage, Meatball, and Bell peppers with olives. I omitted meatballs but I did order the 14" pizza for take out. I hung out and waited out the 20 mins for the pizza but it was ready in no time. They did have a free water station and also sold pizza by the slice. I even saw a Sicilian style square slice, as well. Pizza was A+ and the Staff was great too. Definitely will go back and try more of their varieties of pizzas. read more

The service was okay. The pizza was piping hot. It sure looked delicious, but looks can be deceiving. The ambiance was casualty and comfy. How was that slice of pepperoni pizza? My friend and I were slightly disappointed. It was too salty as hell. So salty that I only ate half of the pizza. In my book, this pizzeria is a hit or miss. I am not a fan of overly salty pizza. I am being generous in gIving this business a three star rating. The selection of beverages was limited, no beer to go with the pizza. The sodas were more than 40 grams of sugar. Yikes! Return visit? This was when parents and people who have things to really do, don't have time for any lackluster on top of the fact that I got a hair on my pizza no one asked anything about that. We were on a mission for pizza by the slice and my daughter found this place. $4 for a slice is a steal. (Cheese or pepperoni and a few other options). They stock Boylin soda too so that's a nice treat. I will say the cheese pizza was hella good. Super thin crust, a little crispy, and the sauce was tangy and flavorful. They have good parm cheese too not the Kraft junk. And their garlic peppercorn (not ranch) sauce is the jam. The service is fast too. The staff is friendly and attentive and the restaurant is clean and has a cozy feel to it. Definitely will be a go to pizza spot for us. read more

Just retuned from an Alaskan vacation where operational costs are high. Faced with all the same challenges as the Bay Area--yet didn't have one meal that wasn't top tier. And you paid for it. It's not cheap. Return to the Bay and it's just the opposite--you pay top tier and get mediocre. This pizza is one click above cafeteria pizza. Greasy. Average. Expensive. Nothing special nothing worth returning for. $39.61 for a half cheese and half pepperoni & jalapeño pizza with a side of ranch. I ordered this pizza at Almanac brewery (which I don't want to drag them into this bad review, Marley G earned this one). To top it off the point-of-sale is a touch screen tip-now-hope-for-the-best situation (and it automatically defaults to 15%). Add your phone # and we'll text you when it's ready. I've now done this two times--no text. I had to approach the window 3x--1. Can you split a pie? 2. Did you get my order and are you going to split the pie? 3. Is my pie done? Yes, it's just sitting there. And I tipped for this? Lesson learned. Bay Area patrons need to wake up--they will sell you average food and charge you an exceptional price. And we pay it. We came here on a weekend afternoon and the place was very chilly inside, likely because the foods were left open. You basically order at the front when you get in, then wait for them to call your pizza. There's no waiter service and you simply grab your pizzas once it's done. The place says it is New Jersey style pizza. My partner is from the northeast and thought that his slice of pepperoni pizza was pretty true to its name. We got the pepperoni slice and the white slice. I think the pizza could have been warmer, and that the spinach on my white pizza could have had a bit more flavor, but the slices are generous portions and it's nice to have a place where you can order by the slice. read more

The first few times I had pizza from Marley G's it was at a party at a park. I enjoyed the pizza. We had several different pies. The eggplant pizza was a big hit with the group. I preferred the pepperoni pizza. I did not review the pizza after these two parties. A review of a lunch that had traveled across town and sat on the table might not be an honest review of the pizza. Marley G's is across the street from the parklet where I meet friends in Alameda monthly for lunch and conversation. I zipped across the street to try a slice for my lunch. I wanted to try a fresh-out-of-the-oven slice. I ordered the pepperoni. The thin crust had a lot of pepperoni and cheese. Often I don't eat pizza crust, but I ate this one. I was super excited to see that they have a vegan pizza on the menu - they get an A for effort here. The cashew cream base was runny and flavorless - it didn't add to the pizza experience. The olives are tinned olives, also lacking in flavor (other than "salt") -- the crust was okay but overall the vegan pizza didn't get me excited to even eat a second slice. It's just okay if you have no other options (ie, you're eating with your work team mates or out with friends). Been a loyal customer at Marley G's since the pandemic lockdown. I make a special trip from Oakland to get a slice, and often bring home an extra to keep in my freezer and enjoy later. I moved to the Bay from NY and, like many New Yorkers, I'm particular about my pizza. I think I'm done with this place, though. Last night I went in for a slice and the sliced cheese pizza looked like it had been sitting on the counter for a day. I asked the woman working at the counter and she said it had been there till 3:00 in the afternoon. It was about 7:00pm when I went in. She didn't seem to think this was a problem. I do. So. If the sliced pizza doesn't sell within an hour, toss it or give it away. Peets changes its fresh coffee regularly, do the same with what's on your countertop. I also noticed, for the first time ever, that in the bathroom there are framed photos of people taking a crap. Were they always there? Food and poop don't go together in my opinion (though of course they do; but not when you're just about to put the pizza in your mouth). There's a sign telling staff to wash their hands; yeah, I hope they do that after they take the kind of massive crap that the owners of Marley G's associate with the appetizing. read more

I used to really like this place. The pizza is very good thus the two stars, 'cause otherwise they deserve zero. The salads are good. But this last in-person visit did it for me - never going back. Walked in at 8pm on a Friday night. Ordered pizza, salad and wine at the counter. Only red wine choice was a Nebbiolo which was in the fridge and you have to buy the whole bottle. Umm, ok. We can kill a bottle, I guess. They bring the food to your table. Salads were generous portions on paper plates with plastic forks. Mind you, we are eating there, not to go. Lights on the ceiling are literally glaring in your face almost no matter where you sit. Defunct cold display case sitting in corner with a sign kind of draped over it - get rid of it if you aren't using it. TVs on walls playing various things - always a bad sign when restaurants install TVs. Water in a huge container sitting on a dirty towel that you get yourself with plastic cups. I get it, this is not fine dining. Pizza comes out, with more paper plates - not very eco conscious. Pizza was delicious. As we ate it, the worker started cleaning all the tables with bleach, so that's all I could smell - super unpleasant. But hey, the tables are going to be clean. Then they proceed to put all the chairs on the tables around us and stack up the outdoor heaters in the corner. The other diners hurried up and got out and we did too. It was literally the most uncomfortable dining experience I have ever had. Ruined our whole night. Don't stay open until 9 if you actually want to close at 8. Yelpers - maybe you could order food to go -- but tbh they screw up the to go order every time we do that. I can only assume they've changed owners. Terrible. Fortunately, there are other alternatives in Alameda. read more

Great pizza! I love that they have a non-dairy cheese option, which is really hard to find in Alameda. They have the best crust, in my opinion. We have ordered both take out and dine in and it's always great and consistent. The dining area is just ok, nothing fancy. They bring you the pizza with paper plates. They used to have liquor, but was told recently that they do not serve any longer. That's a bummer. We do come here often and is our go to pizza place in the neighborhood. read more

Beware they try to automatically add the 18% tip to every to-go order. I had to change it. The person in front of me wasn't so lucky. They do not have indoor dining right now, all the tables and chairs are stacked up. They do not have a special slice of the day just regular slices. The service was rude and they were speaking and judging their customers in Spanish thinking that people can't hear them complaining about their job and the low pay. Now to the upper pizza slices. Extremely greasy and the lemon slices in the Brussel sprout pizza was bitter and just a bad combination. Their Sicilian slice was all sauce and hardly and cheese and didn't have a crispy crust. I went to Marley G's Pizzeria earlier today, my only real criticism that I have with the pizza is that the crust was too crispy, I like when the crust of the pizza is a blance of both soft and cripsy, aside from that the Vegan pizza that I ordered was really good, I like all the ingrediants and the nutritional yeast gave the pizza a nice texture.
