Ol' reliable! I stand by this place. It is hot. It is cheap. It is true New York pizza or as close as you'll get in Boston area (alongside the other location in theater district-are they the same owners/biz? Same name and also very good). I like their seating option inside it reminds me of my childhood and sitting in for dinner. If it's under $5 you need cash so I usually have to add a sodacan when I get a few cheese slices. Literally one of the best buffalo chicken pizzas I've had in a while. Their phone is always ringing when I'm picking up my pizza which is how I know this place is popping. I usually call ahead and the pizza is ready within 20 minutes. The lady who works at the front is always slammed with calls but makes time to serve the people at the restaurant as well. I sometimes go here with some of my friends in the area and overall, I think this a great place if you're looking for some good food. The quality of it is excellent in all honesty. I usually get Chicken and Fries and they are outstanding. However there are a few issues. Mainly small ones. The guy is usually takes the orders is sometimes hard to understand and sometimes he gets confused on what your saying, which happened to me last time. This is my go to spot for some good pizza and fries in Malden specifically. My go to is their mamma mia buffalo chicken pizza (never disappoints)!! This is cheap and delicious. Normally no more than $20 for a medium size pizza and a large fry for my boyfriend and I to share-plus we always have left overs for lunch the next day. This is a good spot if you're looking to stay in the area. However their service is terrible. It's normally the same girl at the front/cashier and she is always disgustingly rude. This place is simply amazing. I saw the reviews for the Buffalo chicken pizza and had to try. We've lived in Malden for 3 years and am so disappointed we didn't try earlier! By far favorite Buffalo chicken pizza. Pics are from two different times. Each time the pizza is the same quality which is rare for some places to do. Their customer service is very bad. I always have an unpleasant experience due to the cashier. She is very rude to customers..I placed an order online and arrived five minutes earlier than the estimated pick up time. She told me it would take another 30 minutes. Shows that they do not have good time management. They need to do a better job keeping up with their orders and updating the estimated time if there is a delay. However, aside from their service, the mamma mia buffalo chicken pizza is fairly good. I usually order a medium pizza and my boyfriend and I are always stuffed. I also tried their steak and cheese sub and it was very dry, bland and lack of cheese. This is my go to pizza place in Malden because the Buffalo chicken pizza is one of the best I've ever had. I also frequently get their wings, steak and cheese calzone and onion rings which are all great. I feel like compared to a lot of places their food isn't overly greasy which I appreciate. The prices are reasonable and ordering online is easy. Their takeout service is always super quick and the pizzas are just coming out of the ovens when I get there so I know everything I'm picking up is fresh. The delivery driver arrives and DROPS the CBZ right in front of me as he is handing the food over--- Me: Oh whoa, that's not good. Him: Oh no, I think it's okay. Me: Can we check it first? *He opens the bag and pulls out the container to reveal that it's DRIPPING in it's own sauce. Him: It's okay. You see? Sauce outside, but inside okay. Me: Uhhhhhh, it just exploded open, it is NOT okay. *we go back and forth about who's right and finally he agrees to take it back to replace it... (no apology was given) -Moments later, I decide to call the restaurant to inform someone about what just happened. And IMMEDIATELY after I mentioned that the driver dropped the food, the guy interrupted me and said, and here's the icing on the cake: IT'S OKAY. THE CONTAINER IS TIGHT. IT DOESN'T OPEN IF IT'S DROPPED. I continued to tell the guy that it DID open, and there was sauce leaking through the bag, but the guy KEPT interrupting me and getting short with me shouting---- Him: You want a new one?! Three stars because I don't exactly have much to base it on. I've fallen in love with their cheese calzone and that's ALL I ever get here. It's $7, large and friggin delicious. I usually order a second marinara sauce for dipping because one isn't enough for how big it is. I love arriving a few minutes early, watching it come out of the oven and them spreading a layer of melted butter over the top to make it glisten. They take credit cards so that's a plus.....and the seating area has like six booths which is plenty since they aren't usually overly busy. I usually get take out and your food is always ready within 15 minutes of ordering. I agree, not the best name for the restaurant but the foreign owners probably wanted to try something with a little pizzazz without knowing what entails a typical NY pizza. I'd love to go back and try a few other things but it's pretty hard to pull myself away from something so cheap and good that becomes your staple. read more
