They have a good variety of different options on the menu, not always heavy as you would expect. Vegan/vegetarian folks will be pleasantly accomodated. Bartenders are fast but sometimes the drinks aren't strong enough. Make a reservation for earlier. They get mobbed during later dinner hours. We had a delightful lunch today. We weren't aware this place had opened up, and we were so happy to find someplace close to home that offered great lunches and dinners and served up a good glass of beer or glass of wine. Since we were in a hurry today, we didn't have time to really try too much, so I ordered a salad. It included dried cranberries, goat cheese, and was topped with a very delicious orange vinaigrette dressing. My husband had a grilled cheese sandwich with prosciutto, gouda, and brie cheese. It came with a side of french fries and they were very tasty ( of corse, I had to sample). Other diners were having the burgers, which looked delicious! I ordered wine, which was the monthly special. A sample was brought to the table so that I could try it and I was very pleased with it. We are definitely looking forward to going back, when we have more time to spend. I see that they have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, and a reservation is suggested. This place was great! Cozy on the inside and excellent food. We started out with pierogies, a soft pretzel and wings. Everything was very tasty, but the wings were the best! Really crispy and meaty with homemade blue cheese dressing to dip them in. I have been craving them ever since! I had their New Yorker Salad, my husband had a burger, my MIL had the veggie burger and SIL had their pierogi special. It was all very tasty and I would love to go back to try more of their menu. I use to love coming to this place when it first opened but no so much anymore. Drinks and atmosphere are the only consistent good part of the restaurant. Service and host are spotty and sometimes horrible. I've waited on a not so busy night for food for an hour and a half. Entrées seem to be spotty as well. Their polish selection is pretty good but when it comes to burgers, flatbreads or salads they just don't seem to come out right. Burgers are small, thin and ALWAYS missing a topping or 2. Drinks were good too, unfortunately that was where our satisfaction ended. I ordered the cherry crepes (I love crepes) thinking real cherries... Nope... Loaded full of red maraschino cherries and red dye # whatever sauce... Are you kidding me???!!! If I were 8 years old, I may have felt I died and went to heaven, but as an adult this was just insultingly horrible. The other person in my party ordered the veggie burger, at first glance it is overwhelmingly attractive, the huge burger arrived on a tiny cutting board that could not contain the mess it made as you attempted to eat this thing. That would have been tolerable, but where it really went wrong was that the veggie burger was cooked in the deep fryer. I don't know about you, most people that order a veggie burger are health-conscious and avoid fried foods. How hard is it to grill a veggie burger? I have to say I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I also have strong opinions when it comes to dining and restaurants as I have worked in the industry for 15 years and am also a student at the CIA. Upon arrival we were greeted by the host who was on point in every aspect of his job. He even wished us a good night and thanked us for coming in. Very impressive, kudos to him as I don't see this much. This set my expectations high for the rest of the evening. The atmosphere is very dimly lit, so much so, that with the menu you are given a flashlight. Which my mother did use to view the menu. My brother noted that the chairs were uncomfortable, but our dinner did take 2 hours to get through so this could be why. It was also difficult to see the food on your plate. I hear they have musicians play on their small stage at times which would be neat to experience. I would rate this place as a nice little bar hangout. Our waitress was knowledgeable and as attentive as she could be. They appeared to only have 3 servers on, mind you it's Mother's Day at 5PM and the place is packed, almost full bar and at least 50 people in the dining room. We ordered some drinks and appetizers. We had the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings which were delicious, I would order them again. We also had the Pierogis which were good, but my brother and I both said they tasted like Mrs. T's frozen pierogis. My brother also had the French Onion Soup, which he seemed to enjoy until the miserable female food runner took it from him without asking if he was finished. She worked so haphazardly she also almost hit me in the face with a plate, but failed to even notice. This could be because she was hungover as the bartenders were joking. The food runner never rectified the situation with the soup and she also failed to inform our server. When we informed our server she was very accommodating and removed the soup from the bill. For my entree I ordered the Mother's Day special of Walnut Pesto Snapper with a cranberry cous cous. The fish was slightly overcooked. The skin was nice and crisp, before it was covered with the heavily salted pesto. My cous cous showed up in the form of a rice pilaf, to which my server also fixed for me. The green beans were seasoned beautifully. My brother and mom both ordered the Cowboy Ribeye, both Medium. My brother's steak was perfect and unfortunately my mother's was well done and she found a bone in it. We all had dessert, my brother had the Lemon Ricotta Crepes, which he and my mom enjoyed, I thought they were too eggy. My mom had the cheesecake with a frozen strawberry compote. She said the cheesecake was gritty and not the best. I had the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with Bourbon Caramel Sauce which was the best part of my meal, delicious. It appeared to me that they are not used to this type of high volume and have some kinks that need to be worked out. The end of the bar was a dumping ground for dirty glassware and empty water caraffs, but this was also where the servers were picking up drinks for their tables. In my opinion the two (dirty and clean) should not be mixed. I also do not recall seeing a front of the house manager the entire time we were there, unless the host was the manager, which would explain why he was so on point. All in all, the staff hustled and did a good job with some minor snafu's. The kitchen made some mistakes, which I get it, it happens. The food was good, not great, and this is why I am only giving them 3 stars. read more
