Food was decent.... seems to be similar upstate NY style pizza where the bread is too thick for me, but this bread is far less dry than all those others I couldn't stand. But the one thing about pizza up here is that people do not put nearly enough sauce on the pizza for my taste if the bread is this thick. Now, if I can order this with extra sauce, then this would be very good for me. I realized this when I had the container of sauce for the garlic knots (which I did love, BTW) and dipped the pizza into that. That sauce was less watery than the sauce on the pizza (maybe due to the cheese?) but dipping the slice into that made it a lot better, IMO. read more

Nothing like a regular slice from this place. Staff is really nice too. My family's go-to pizza shop. We get takeout or delivery but they have a couple tables if you want to grab a slice and eat in. Not bad. We were looking for some delivery 'za on National Pizza Day. Slice was running a 10% off special on delivery so we found this place. We kept it simple and ordered an XL 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni and a LG Bruschetta pizza. The XL was huge!! It was cut into very long slices too. Most places would have cut those in Half but we didn't care. The dough is the type with very little salt almost sweet flavor with a medium chewy texture. I like that sometimes to contrast the strong tomato sauce flavor. This pizza had a thick buttery layer of mozzarella. This is very acceptable if not remarkable pizza. It hits the spot. The Bruschetta grew on me. It was unlike other I've tried. It had so many onions! The onions were strong too! It also had sliced fresh tomatoes. The basil which I love the most was very skimpy. I would have liked a lot more. There was a layer of Italian dressing that gave a really nice flavor. In order to enjoy I had to scrape off all the onions. It was very tasty then. Ordered 2 pizzas, 2 salads, mozz sticks and fries. Fries were bland, like straight potato. Mozz were fine. Boyfriends salad was filled with peppers and the chicken on mine was inedible. The sauce and toppings on my pizza had slid off and were mushed up against one side of the box when I opened it. I slid it back mostly and tried one piece, it wasn't good. Spaghetti with sausage was ordered with an added meatball(extra cost) but no sausage was detectable in what we received. What's worth writing about is how utterly dirty the place was - especially the bathroom - OMG I was afraid to touch anything. NY Style was our go to, favorite for many years. Absolutely incredible. Then things started going wrong. Small at first. Like it would take extra long to get our food. Then one day we got a pizza that looks like somebody had finger paint on it. It was supposed to be half pepperoni half mushroom and appears when it went into the oven the first time it was all mushroom. They realize their mistake, pushed everything to one side threw in a few pepperoni and tried to pass it on. Then today I ordered a calzone. Sausage and onion. Over an hour and it was mushroom only. I'm not even sure where to begin! My husband and I decided to try a new place to order from. We opted to try NY Style Pizza in Latham. 630: Logged onto the pizza place's website to place order. 645: created a me also account so I could finalize my order. 730: checked order status online, shows that the pizza place has not acknowledged the order. So I call up to find out what's going on. I spoke with a guy who asked my address for my order, and I explained to him that I had already placed an order online. He places the phone down, AT THAT MOMENT, I NOTICED MY ORDER AT MEALEO HAD BEEN CANCELED! He came back and asked how I placed my order, so again I said "through Mealeo on your website." he said "oh, Connie?" I said "yeah, that's me" he replied "we never received your order." (then how did he know my name?) I was more hungry than pissed (but not by much) and then placed my order over the phone. The guy was in too much of a hurry to answer the next call that he didn't hear me when I asked if I could pay with my card... He had hung up. 7:38: I call back not even a minute later. Someone else answered the phone, and politely asked if I could hold. He waited for a response, and even said "thank you" (HE gets 5 stars, if I were to rate him for his customer service. The phone was placed down and I could hear the original guy that I spoke to, speaking to someone else. He hung up the phone with them, walked away, came back, and without listening to see if someone was on the phone /I know this because I kept saying "hello", he hung up the phone. 7:42: I IMMEDIATELY came back, and the 2nd gentleman answered the phone again (again... 5-star service), and completed my transaction for me, once I explained to him I was unable to be patient more. He apologized twice after hearing the brief explanation of what's happened thus far. 8:44: the driver finally arrives with the food. (he gets 5-stars as well). NOW.... My pizza is burnt and my deep fried cauliflower is so rubbery from the long 4.5 mile drive! Wow.... Oh yeah, and the overdone pizza.... And the crispy wings I ordered.... Yeah, not so crispy. If it wasn't for the 2nd guy, and the driver, I'd have to give this place ONE star. But, the driver got a decent tip due to his courtesy. I feel badly about this, but they didn't help their cause. I ordered take out on a Friday night. When placing the phone order, they told me it would be ready in 25 - 30 minutes. When I arrived a half-hour later, they hadn't even put the pizzas together! I ended up waiting another 20 minutes, on top of the half-hour mentioned earlier. While waiting, another customer walked out without part of his order. As the counter-man ran out to find him, I helped him by pointing out where the customer was. So I figured that after making me wait twice as long for my food, and after helping out with another customer, that he would at least offer me a bottle of soda or some garlic knots. But, alas, all I got was a well deserved and sincere apology. There were two guys up front, and a bunch in back. But it appears that only one guy was actually making pizza. Seriously? It's a pizza place! Also, the place is GROSS. Very dirty inside. And the pizza? Meh. Not that great. So in an area where there is a double digit number of pizza places with in a 5 mile radius, you would think that they would bend over backwards to please the customers. Not so much. Less than average. Delivery time was reasonable and the driver was nice. I ordered an 8-cut pepperoni pizza, 6 garlic knots and a small Greek salad. My pizza arrived without pepperoni. When I called the company, the owner or manager Tony apologized and offered a $5 credit toward my next order. Because I ordered through Mealeo, he couldn't refund my card. He tried to make it right, and that's why this review has two stars instead of one. The garlic knots tasted stale and had too much oregano. They had an odd aftertaste that wasn't pleasant. The paper bag they came in was left open upon arrival (vs. folded on top) ... I guess this was done to let the steam out and avoid sogginess? The pizza had zero flavor and the sauce was so sweet it's the only thing I tasted. I never touched the salad. I won't be back. Not even to use my $5 credit. read more

Tried for the first time recently after living nearby for a few years. I was craving thin crust classic New York style pizza, and where else to go but their name sake?! They have online ordering ability which is very convenient, and my order was ready to go when I got there after 20 minutes. The pizza itself was pretty good, not overly greasy, and nice and crispy. I wasn't a huge fan of their boneless wings, since they were not the type I was hoping for. They were more like the thin strips, which are just meh.
