This has been our family pizza spot for about 10 years. It is always good, and if there is something wrong they are always more than happy to fix the problem. I recently ordered food from here after seeing how popular Paesan's is. However, that was a mistake that I will forever regret. With that known, I ordered a pepperoni pizza, mild wings, and a calzone. To start, the wings were mediocre at best. To explain, the wings were not dry, but they were extremely bland and not crispy at all. I'm pretty sure they steam their wings instead of frying them which is just absurd. Believe it or not that was the best part of the meal. After that, I tried the pepperoni pizza which was awful. To breakdown, the crust tasted like cardboard and it was certainly frozen. Likewise, the sauce tasted artificial and definitely not homemade. In similar fashion, the cheese was terrible. It was not even cooked and it tasted artificial as well. It was simply an atrocious pizza. Now to the worst part of the meal, the calzone. To enumerate, the calzone was vile and downright insulting. The calzone was filled with nothing except cheese. Nothing else was in it. To make matters worse the cheese wasn't cooked. It was gooey, uncooked slop that I wouldn't feed a goat. It was the worst calzone that I've ever had. More than 30 minutes go by I call three times the guy acts like he can't hear me. He's the only person today who is unable to hear me on my cell phone. Quite strange. About five minutes later the delivery guy comes back and he brings some cookies that we did not order that clearly came from another store. We paid over $20 for fig cookies and raspberry sprinkle sandwiches and these jerks come back with cookies from a store that clearly do not add up to over $20 worth of desserts ordered. I ordered a grandma pizza, which is my favorite kind of pizza. The place is highly recommended so I was excited. Unfortunately, what they served was not grandma pizza. It was a sicilian pizza with sauce and fresh mozza and very thin slices of basil. The sauce wasn't on top of the cheese and as I said, it was a standard sicilian crust. They need to change the name of this to a sicilian margherita pizza. We happened to find this gem of a pizza shop whilst visiting colleges for my oldest child. Nestled in a quaint little spot we eagerly ordered our pizzas & filled drinks from the fountain spot. The counter worker was friendly & patient & brought our pizzas out within 15min. The pizza was perfect- crisp crust that wasn't limp, tasty sauce , & a delicious blend of cheese. I called and placed an order for pick up. It was a simple order, personal chicken marsala pizza with extra sauce and only a small amount of cheese... or so I thought. They told me 20 min but it took around 35. Once I got the pizza, I noticed it was the exact opposite of what I ordered. The sauce is basically non existent and there is so much cheese that the whole thing is just floppy. I did a background check reviews on the pizza and the calzone. Figure coming from New York and the ratings. It would be unbelievable because they have different places all over New York. And then of course they wouldn't be in business unless they were selling a good product. That's what I'll based everything on, so I had to order the pizzas through Goldbelly. Was not a problem. I ordered the five pizza special. Plus there's options for other items. I ordered one chicken Parmesan calzone. My items came in 3 to 4 days later, right on time. Pulled everything out of the box look fantastic , the calzone at 400° for 15 minutes came out perfectly. Cut a calzone up into four pieces and started looking for the chicken Parm. After having a few bites, it was more of a cheese calzone with very small chunks of chicken, very disappointing , Really disappointed. I wish they would have said something like 1/2 ounces of meat. Paesans is consistent. You will never get anything bad. The people are polite and hardworking. That said there is nothing special about their food. It's standard fare that you could get at any dozen places in the area. But again, never bad. It is also reasonably priced food. The pizza crust is tough and dark on the bottom, and a bit soggy. If they had a good crust, it would greatly improve the restaurant. The problem is that they constantly mess up orders, forget things, deliver the wrong things, not deliver the meal, or make my family wait until bedtime to eat. If you need a quick bite, stop in; but, don't order delivery. It will probably end up being three hours late, or more. When it does arrive, almost certainly, they will have messed up the order. read more

Tonight, I ordered a pizza @ 7:35pm. The guy waited until 8:20pm to call and tell me that my address was out of range for delivery. I have had them delivered 20+ times in the past, even last week. My wife and I weren't in the mood to cook so we ordered pizza from here. Like all Paesan's (and most other pizza places), they had pizza by the slice and we have eaten before and tried that. It was decent, but not spectacular. This time, we had pizza and wings delivered. I had eaten something earlier in the day that upset me so I didn't want anything too greasy, but my wife wanted pepperoni so that is what we had. She also ordered a side (10) of garlic parm. boneless wings. The food arrived quickly. The pizza was fine, loaded with pepperoni, but also loaded with grease. It was a "paper towel pizza" meaning we used paper towels to remove excess oil and grease. The pepperoni hadn't crisped up, and all the cheese made for a very slick pie. It tasted fine, though the sauce wasn't very distinctive and the crust wasn't very browned. In all, an average pizza with nothing offensive. In fact, some people really like greasy, cheesy pizza and they would like it here. I am actually looking forward to reheating the leftovers on my pizza stone in my oven, as a crisp crust is something I look for in a pizza. The wings were something else. They are small like chicken nuggets, and moist. We received 11, which may have been a mistake or intentional. My wife swirled them in the foil pan before serving, so each was coated in the sauce. And by sauce, imagine a stick of butter melted and chopped garlic sauteed in it. They were dripping in butter and garlic. If you pressed them with a fork, grease just oozed out. While very buttery and tasty, again they were greasy. The coating was very soft, either from the travel in the aluminum tin or else the swim in the butter. It was good pizza and wings. It certainly wasn't healthy. Had it all been less greasy, I might have given them another star. Their pizza sauce needed some more flavor, and perhaps a little longer in the oven. The wings are a take-or-leave proposition: either you like them like this or you don't. I was expecting either a sauce (like BWW) or a rub but they were fine. In the end, though, the overwhelming amount of grease from the pizza and wings were just too much for me to handle. read more

By far one of my favorite pizza place to get slices in the capital region. When I come in, I always get the Bacon Chicken Ranch slice. Never a disappointment. At times, I do get the rolls that they offer and those also taste amazing with the marinara sauce. The Garlic Knots are also something I would recommend. The staff are awesome. The manager even knows what I order every time I walk in for slices now. I absolutely love this place. Their pizza is always delicious, even during the lunch rush when pizzas are flying in and out of the oven. Its also freshly made and you can watch the people make the pizza right in front of you. I usually get 1 cheese slice for lunch. Nice thin crust with a slight crisp on the bottom, and a tasty end crust that is cooked perfectly (not burned beyond belief or undercooked sloppy dough). The sauce and cheese are delicious and perfectly balanced with the slice. Nothing is worse than having a cheese-slopped slice. The staff members are all friendly and deliver a pretty good brooklyn-style slice of pizza. The best part is that I can use my credit card despite the bill being extremely small - usually $2. No complaints or restrictions. Overall if you're in the mood for a fresh slice of thin crust pizza at an affordable price, this is your place. A+ read more

Since moving to California, I often find myself dreaming of quality NYC style pizza. Upon my return home for a visit to the east coast, the first meal I had to have was a pizza from Paesan's. This pizza does the trick and is everything a pizza should be, it is a bit on the greasy side, flat, good sauce and cheese. In my opinion, this is still one of the best "local" pizza chains in the Capital Region. Prices are a bit high, but you do get delicious pizza. read more

It's reliably excellent every time and it's great for takeout night! I order the personal pizza with toppings mushroom and garlic and it is awesome! The bread is perfectly soft but not too soft. The cheese is not too salty and it's they put the perfect amount on the pizza. The pizza sauce is subtle and not overpowering . The toppings are fresh and delicious! Owner: Frank, was extremely rude to all customers and even employees. Pizza order was placed 2 hours ahead and the food took about 30 minutes to come out upon arrival. Frank again decided it was a good idea to take off his mask to yell across the room, and then also decided that when a customer was at the register, the mask regulations did not apply to him. He took several customers orders without a mask on. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone based on the way the owner treats his customers. ALBANY LOCATION ONTARIO STREET: So I order the same thing from Paesans every time I order. A veal parm sub with extra sauce. They literally get my order wrong approximately half the time. No extra sauce. I have gone in there and spoken to the manager about it several times. He's a nice guy and is sincerely apologetic when I talk to him, but be that as it may, he is been ineffective at resolving the problem. And its a systemic problem too. The people that make the food DON'T READ THE TICKETS! Then, the people that package it for delivery DONT READ THE TICKETS! What this means is they don't really care if your order is right. If they did, it would happen 5% of the time. !0% of the time, Not 50% of the time. If you order "a pepperoni pizza" from here, they probably will get that right. Any special instructions you give them? Its literally a coin flip whether they get it right or not. I don't know about you, but I'm not OK with that. There are plenty of places to order pizzas from and almost all of them will pay better attention to your order than these people. The sad part is that they are nice people. I understand it's a Friday night but when we called at 6:50 to check on our order, whoever answered the phone asked for no information and simply told us our food was on the way. At 7:15, half of our food arrived- and it was obviously cold.... No sign of the rest of our food. Tried to call Paesan's back and the phone was off the hook. Eventually got ahold of them to tell them about our experience, and they told us it was a busy night. Thankfully Grubhub will be reimbursing us for this experience. My co-worker ordered a pizza yesterday with mushrooms. It smelled great as pizza does, but it was disappointed in how average it was. Not enough sauce, too much cheese and not really that much flavor. They have a nice new building, and I figured they must be doing something right. Perhaps my expectations were a little high, but I've been to other Paesan's and though it was good (I may have been drinking heavily) so I expected the same. In all it was a little boring.
