A heads-up when ordering: They typically have several sandwiches pre-made and ready to go, but if you want something made fresh to order, you'll need to order by phone or online. At least at the Lyon Village location, you can't order a made-to-order sandwich directly at the counter. So if you have your heart set on a freshly made sub, plan ahead! They carry Route 11, a Virginia-based chip company, and they had several varieties available: lightly salted, dill pickle, Chesapeake Crab, Mama Zuma's Revenge, and salt & pepper. I only saw the actual (tiny) portion size when my food was delivered that I realized menu photos online had deceived me and the prices were insane for that reason. $21+ for a 1/4 lb half deli sandwich!?!? Insane! And centimeter-thick bread slices are also considered tiny portions. Nobody disputed weight of meat. Strawman. I've eaten at plenty of delis over the years, but Eddie's Little Shop completely surprised me with flavors I've genuinely never tasted before. The sandwiches here are incredibly unique, creative combinations that just explode with flavor in ways I wasn't expecting. What really stood out were the huge, fresh chunks of real mozzarella, paired with their homemade-style dressings, sauces, and condiments. It's easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and I've tried a lot. The portions are generous, the bread is spot-on. I'll definitely be back before my trip ends. I have to say I was not disappointed. I got the Super Smokey, which has Roast Beef, smoked turkey, ham and cheese. It only comes in one size (most are either 8" or 12") and it was HUGE. I thought the ratio of meat to bread and just enough veggies was very good. It also had just enough mayo. If I could change one thing, I'd add more hot peppers but still a great sub. It also comes with two pickle spears. The lady who took my order was also very nice. I'd definitely go back again to try one of their other subs. Definitely worth it.
