This is their Alexandria location near the Braddock Road Metro Station, and it's a large one with a little market up front and a big dining area and bar in the back. Its walls are decorated with dog-themed murals. The menu is HUGE with lots of drink options. They also have dozens of sandwiches and pizzas. I went with a bowl of the chicken corn chowder, which was very tasty! The small Caesar sad was lacking. Overall, it's a great spot for a casual lunch. read more

I visited on a weekday lunch around 11:30 with my boss and 2 other coworkers. We received a warm welcome by the hostess at the podium and quickly met up with my already seated boss. The place has wooden tables and chairs and was really not crowded for the time period of day but a little chilly for me. We ordered the seasoned fries for the 4 of us which came very quickly. The fries are a must since they have a little heat and not all seasoned salt. There are 2 lengthy pages for the sandwiches alone but they also serve pizzas and salads. We ordered 3 beverages from the solo waiter I saw there. I chose the Cowboy (roast beef, grilled onions, mushrooms and green peppers. Others ordered the seafood sandwich of crabmeat and shrimp on croissant and the cubano sandwich both were very satisfied. As we began to bite into our sandwiches, we still hadn't gotten our sodas so I waived him down. He was simultaneously taking orders, serving and doing the drink service like he was on skates and he immediately brought our drinks. Ended up here by accident because a place up the street, Bark Social, seemed overly officious. I completely understand why they would want all guests to ensure their dogs are fully vaccinated; however, it doesn't lend itself to spontaneity and when we showed up there we had no idea that my California friend's pooches needed their shot records and pre-registration. Like TSA PreCheck for dogs apparently. She was adamant that it's not a thing in California or in Atlanta. Well, welcome to Northern Virginia lol. Definitely needed to call in advance and pre-register. The topic wasn't up for further discussion from their side, even though we offered to sit in a corner away from everybody inside. Luckily Lost Dog allowed her ultra pampered pooches to sit outside on the patio in their stroller while we ate lunch and had a couple of beers. Dogs are only allowed on the patio here. No shot records required. I'm glad it was only three minutes up the street from where we were and the catastrophe of not having any place to dine was avoided. Service was expedient and the interiors were welcoming. I had a Reuben and she had some spinach artichoke dip. This place has like 50 something sandwiches on the menu - all dog names and dog related of course. The menu is very extensive + they have a socially conscious mission. I would come back. Parking in the area is rough. Almost as bad as DC street parking, so good luck with that part. I ended up parking illegally right out front on the corner because I got tired of riding around, Luckily we were in and out in around an hour - so no ticket. ;-) read more

Lacks a customer service attitude. We remember when they first opened in Old Town. They had always seemed to be good people taking care of customers, with decent food at a reasonable cost. So we were surprised to get blown off when we had a problem with a delivery order. Rather than deal with it, they said, effectively, it's not their problem. So, we will not be visiting or ordering from them until 1 January 2027, at the earliest. read more

Great staple in the neighborhood! I really love a place that you can bring the dogs outside on the patio where they have tons of shade and plenty of water bowls for the pups. My pastrami sandwich that I created myself Was DELICIOUS..my thanks to the bartender for not judging my basic request for pastrami on rye with mustard..you're the true hero! Now my companion had the number 12 surf and turf sandwich and was completely floored by the flavor and the amount of crab on the sub! The draft beers we had were unique and flavorful..I just wish I had time to try more. There is a package store as well and we ended up grabbing a bunch of ciders and beers to take with us! Got to try this place in Alexandria, VA while visiting some family. We did eat inside as there was no outside seating to accommodate a party of 8. Luckily, their large table was in an area by itself away from the other few tables/booths inside. Unfortunately for me, our table was right under the AC vent and the AC was on full blast, so it was very cold inside! All staff I saw were wearing masks and they had lots of hand sanitizer accessible. Our waiter was very patient (as we were a large group with kids) and attentive. The menu at this place is huge, it was honestly a bit overwhelming. They had lots of appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, and pizzas to choose from as well as lots of beers on draught or by can/bottle. Safe to say they had something for everyone! I wanted a beer, so I ordered a sour they were featuring that was made with papaya and milk sugar. I know it sounds weird, and it was, but it was good, weird. Wish I could remember the name... My husband and I got the Green dog dip as an appetizer (Spinach artichoke dip topped with pico de gallo and served with tri-colored tortilla chips and pita). I actually really liked it as it was a nicely paired combo of two common appetizers. We then decided to share a salad and a pizza for our entrée. We chose the Doghouse Salad (mixed greens, oven roasted tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, kalamata olives, artichokes, cucumbers, roasted red peppers, sliced fresh mozzarella, and feta vinaigrette dressing). It was a very pretty salad with nice pops of color, it also was very tasty. I could have been satisfied with this salad on its own with a protein, but of course I wanted pizza. My husband and I love pesto, so we decided to get a small Kajo Pie pizza (homemade pizza sauce with pesto, artichoke hearts, garlic chicken, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and basil). This was a really good pizza y'all. I kept eating even after I was full. The crust was nicely cooked, perfectly cheesy, and the pesto was prevalent but not too heavy. I also could taste the garlic on the chicken which was a nice touch. In addition to a great taste, it also was a very large, small and not expensive. We got a lot of bang for our buck. There was no flavor. I don't understand how you can omit flavor in a savory 7 layer dip but there you go. The guacamole is from a jar. It was basically an avocado puree. The only nice thing was that the shredded lettuce was fresh? Oh and the chips were crunchy. We tried to doctor the dip. We heated it up. We added some chili seasoning. We added salt. We added spicy chili powder. It was a lost cause. We tossed it. Basically, get drunk first on their beers on tap before order any food. I absolutely love the idea behind this establishment because it was created in support of their own animal rescue, which is still active in Northern Virginia. Their food includes casual eating like subs and sandwiches. My friends and I normally go to try their beers as they have a great selection. There is usually always seating and the ambiance of the place is very cozy and great for dog lovers. While staying in Old Town we wanted a "lighter" lunch after shopping. A lot of the restaurants on King St are a heavier food option so after some searching on Yelp we found Lost Dog. This was a bit of a walk from King but honestly not too bad and mostly level/no hill walking. The service was great and the expansive menu options was a huge plus. My husband and I both said we wished we lived closer so we could try everything as it all sounded so good. We started with the Layer Dip which was really good.
