A nice but tiny place on Lee St. it only has seating for 13 people plus 2 outside. So you may have to wait for a seat. However, you can always get your order to go. They only do breakfast & lunch. But, you can get a burger at 10am. I enjoyed the rise & shine special with 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns & 2 pancakes. Perfect way to get my day started. They have a good menu. Great value coupled with a very cute atmosphere = me being a return customer. The space is tiny but quaint as heck. It's fine with a plus 1 but definitely not for families. At best they can sit about a dozen people (plus room outside). But don't let the limited space fool you; be prepared to wait for your food since they do a lot of take-out orders. I was down in Old Town Alexandria one day and just needed a good but quick breakfast. I looked up from where my car was parked and saw Jack's Place. So, I decided to go ahead and give them a try. I called my order in so I could wait in the car. My food was ready when I walked in the door 10 minutes later. The staff member at the register was nice, friendly, and made sure to ask if there was anything else I needed before I left (any condiments, etc.) So, the customer service gets a 10 out of 10. I ended up getting their Sausage and Cheese Omelette. It came with Breakfast Potatoes. The Omelette was okay...your typical run of the mill Sausage Omelette, nothing special but good overall. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. The Breakfast Potatoes didn't have much flavor, other than the herbs they put on top. I'd give those a 6.5 out of 10. Well, the customer service was great, the food could use a little extra something to it, but it did its job by being a fast breakfast when I needed it in Old Town. Overall, I'd give them a 7.5 out of 10. I still might give them a shot again and try something else. Maybe their Breakfast Sandwiches are better. read more

Found this place, when we stayed a week in Old Town. Great value. Only 13 seats though. We ate inside 2 mornings. Picked up breakfast sandwiches 2 mornings, burgers one afternoon and a Philly steak sandwich and bulgogi bowl on our last day, to eat at the airport. We would phone in and pick up when we weren't eating inside. Would get the sandwiches to eat, on the Metro ride, in to the city. Very nice folks and you can see them cooking on their grill. read more

A guy on the flat top and a woman taking orders, serving and assisting with food prep. We ordered the veggie omelet and it came with toast and home fries. All for $9.99. I love this place! I've visited twice in the past, once for some savory food (which was delicious) and again recently for some tea on a very cold day. The owner was working there when we visited and she was super nice! I was really glad this place was open, because it was a really cold day and the tea and coffee our group got was exactly what was needed. The green tea I ordered was hearty and so soothing on a very cold day. The shop is casual, but it has a very welcoming atmosphere. The food I've had in the past (a sandwich) was delicious and filling. This place is truly a gem, and I will visit again in the future! The restaurant is clean and bright. I can't remember the names of what we had, but it was all made to order, fresh and quick. I had the English muffin with ham, egg, and cheese, with a side of hash brown patties. My husband had sausage, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser roll, also with hash browns. We shared a pancake. We live in Old Town Alexandria, down the street from Jack's place. We had breakfast there a week ago and we labeled it the best breakfast in town. We had to try their hibachi Dinner (only available on the weekends 5-8:30) which we just ate. I would have posted a picture of how good it looked but sadly it was too delicious and we ate it all too fast! It was spectacular! My girlfriend and I can't recommend this place enough. Great little place to have in the neighborhood. New owners as of about a month ago & they are nice & excited to be there. New on the menu is their hibachi items. We tried the hibachi chicken & would definitely order again..good sized entree of chicken , fried rice and fresh veggies. Also the pork dumplings were good & flavorful.
