I did a needle RF machine facial. It made my face incredibly red and bumpy for days.... They said there would be no downtime, but after four days my face and neck are still red, bumpy and itchy. Looks so horrible. When I asked them about this symptom they just responded "it's so rare and it will be clear." I really didn't expect this, and I can't go to work or go out. It's not professional no skin consultation, and they didn't even have numb cream. It really hurt and actually burned. Please be aware this place. I don't even know if they are licensed. I returned to Laser Now this week for my second treatment from James - I had been there a few years ago and was very pleased with the results. If you're looking for a fancy spa, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a nice, highly competent technician, James is the guy to see. He was so thorough, starting with a treatment to remove dead skin and then he used a couple of different lasers, targeting my skin discolorations. I bought a groupon for laser spider vein removal. Some businesses can be a bit dismissive to their groupon clients but James really took his time to explain everything to me. I felt very comfortable during the treatment, and he even did a resurfacing test on my darkened knees, to see if the laser would work before purchasing a package. James was awesome and really detailed in his explanation on the procedure I was getting and any other procedure I was interested in. I went on to remove some veins around my nose and in the process he removed some tags I had around my neck to test and show me how it felt. Super happy that he did that because I always felt I had to go to a dermatologist to do that and he did it in like 30 secs! I will def ve going back for a full laser facial he went over. The only thing I would comment is that I wish there was a more formal waiting area not just waiting in the hall but besides that the office was really clean and nice. Prior to Yessenia taking over this was a good business. She cancelled my appointment last week 2 hours beforehand and rescheduled for this week 6/17. One hour before todays appointment she asks if I am still coming for my 12 noon appointment and I reply "Yes". When I arrive at the appointment at 12:10 she is not there, and doesn't respond to calls or texts. Her "secretary" calls me back at 12:30 to say since I was 10 minutes late Yessenia left. What business operates in this fashion? If she was going to leave a courtesy call to avoid me paying $40 for an Uber would have been expected. Not to mention she did a horrible job removing my skin tags on my last visit which is why I specifically asked for James today only for neither of them to be there. ONE STAR ONLY! I purchased a Groupon to try 2 Dermal Pen treatments. It was a hassle making the appointment as the Fifth Avenue office is open a limited number of days. I received 3 strange text messages confirming my appointment, THREE. I arrived at the office 5 minutes early, checked in with the receptionist. 15 minutes later, I asked if they knew I was here. 25 minutes later, he came out to greet me. After initial chit chat, no apology for keeping me waiting 20 minutes we left his small dark appointment room and he escorted me to a hall bathroom in order for me to wash off my makeup. The bathroom was disgusting......it smelled from fecal matter and waste. I would have preferred being asked not to wear any makeup to the appointment. The dermal pen service was executed. It felt strange...I'm hoping my collagen will respond and starting producing more of itself. Painless procedure. I tipped him and left. My second appointment I did not receive any confirmation emails. I arrived on this dark and rainy New York day 5 minutes early for my appointment. 35 minutes later I left unseen. That's right, I left at 11:35, UNSEEN for an appointment scheduled for 11:00 AM No consideration for my time or energy. Yes, he has my telephone number and email address. Easy to contact the client. Been 2x (once on groupon, and a followup a year or so later) for some facial laser'ing to remove blemishes and red marks. Good outcome both times, and felt like a good deal and thorough treatment for the price. If you go in with realistic view about what the treatments will do (you know, getting laser won't change you from looking like a zombie to looking like a movie star for only a hundred dollars...) you'll definitely feel it was a good experience. To be honest this place doesnt deserve a star but James communicative skills were by far the only thing pleasing, THIS earned Laser Now in Flatiron one star. 1. I got there before my scheduled service and prior to me arriving James texted saying he was running behind (this is where the one star was earned). I appreciated the text but i wasnt happy with the half an hour wait to see him. 2 The appearance of the office that was shared with other businesses, as well as James personal work space, wasnt exactly pleasing on the eye. There was an old, and not to mention dirty, lab chair that I had to recline on and WITHOUT a paper cover that you would see at any professional establishment of that kind. I decided to proceed because sometimes the dingiest places can turn out to be one of the best. I was completely wrong. As James was performing my microdermabrasion he touched any and everything with the same gloves that he then put on my face. Furthermore, I had to then help with the completion of the microdermabrasion where he proceeded to walk me to the shared bathroom and have ME do all of the cleaning of the product used. Ive had microdermabrasions done before, and this was a first. 3. James was very informative of the benefits of photolaser, mentioning more than once that it would be beneifical for me to get. It felt like he was trying to get me to add this onto my session. 4. To end my session, James did not offer any moisturizer or sunscreen to protect my face as he mentioned I should do while he was conversing with me through our entire appointment. I walked out with crystals all over my face, neck and hair. My face felt extremely dry and as I write this review burns a bit (I swear I am trying not to be dramatic here). I had always been aware of these little nests of spider veins at the webs of my nose, and the broken capillaries here and there, two of these rosebud blemishes large enough to be part of the landscape of my face. But it wasn't until I had a corporate photo taken at our last All-Hands that I noticed just how startling these blood spots (that's what they are) actually were. A few weeks later my daughter photo-shopped a picture she took of me just for a joke -- got rid of my blemishes and man - I thought I looked pretty sharp! LOL So I looked around online and couldn't decide what laser center to visit until I got a Groupon for Laser Now on Fifth Avenue. The testimonials on yelp were generally excellent so I went ahead and made an appointment... Best decision I have made for my looks in years! James worked on me thoroughly, as I had my whole face done. The slight pinching pain of the little laser shock is negligible, quite bearable, not a big deal at all. But the results! I was expecting good ones, but I couldn't believe how completely clear of broken capillaries and spider veins my face became. (Okay, one 1/2-inch spider vein by my nose doesn't want to go away, but otherwise... Poof.) There are visible marks on spots immediately after they "zap" you, so you might want to host a dinner party on the night after the treatment (or maybe you don't care?) but as promised, these spots went away in 3-7 days. So if you want to get rid of what I wanted to get rid of, you really should check out James at Laser Now on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and somewhere out on the island, I think. I saw a Groupon deal for skin tag removal and pounced on it. I had been checking around for a while (for my dad) but most places were super expensive and charged over $100 for the removal of a SINGLE tag! (Outrageous, I know!) Not to mention, the consultation fees were around $100 or more. Anyways, I thought the prices were too good to be true, so I called up Laser Now to inquire about consultation fees and guess what? There were none! Needless to say I was pretty stoked. The guy that does the treatment (James Ehrlein) told me that all the skin imperfection treatments (tattoo removal, skin tags, sun spots treatments, etc) were between $39 and $99, which were the same prices on the Groupon, so I needn't purchase it. James was such a pleasant person on the phone, I anticipated a really great experience on the day of appointment and I was not disappointed. The office has a really nice ambiance and the location is pretty easy to get to. James explained about all the types of laser treatments that are out there and then more specifically about the ones that they offer. My dad who initially was a bit apprehensive about getting the skin tags removed became much more comfortable because of James, whose bedside manner was just impeccable. Even after the treatment, we all sat and talked for about 15 minutes (which probably cut into James' lunch hour, oops!) The type of laser (non-ablative) skin tag removal we did is the kind where the skin tags will fall off gradually, because it doesn't involve cutting them off at the time of treatment. So, we're just waiting to see how well the treatment worked. There was very minimal discomfort after treatment and I'm positive it'll turn out great. There are so many positives about Laser Now and the wonderful people that work there, that I will always recommend them. UPDATE: the treatment worked really well! read more

I've been meaning to post re: my experience at Laser Now since my appointment 2.5 weeks ago. But, I wanted to be able to comment on the effectiveness of the treatment as well as the day of the procedure. As others have previously stated, James is super pleasant. He patiently talks through the procedures - the range of lasers, etc. - and answered my questions. He's not rushed at all and puts you at ease. I also appreciate the fact that he explains what he's doing during the procedure (esp since you can't see what's happening yourself). But, to be honest, you're putting your face in a stranger's hands and hoping that they don't mess up, which can be a little nerve-racking. So, nice is good, but I needed him to be effective. And, James was really great; in fact, he went above & beyond. You want someone who takes time to deal with all of the spots & blemishes on your face (b/c that's why you're there!). He told me what to expect - I have a very large sunspot that he said would take multiple treatments. So, it has faded somewhat, but (like he said) will need another blast. Other, smaller beauty marks, have disappeared completely. (For the first few days, though, they are more noticeable.) I am slow to heal in general, but this has gone very well. My complexion is already clearer overall, and I'm looking forward to having James handle the rest of my sunspot/beauty mark woes. Highly recommend. read more

This is the best laser treatment I've ever had. I'v been getting various skin laser treatments in a famous dermatologists in south Korea and also in several places here in US. James is the best professional who really does his best to address my concerns and problems on my skin at a very reasonable price. His treatment was always very thorough. Unlike the other technicians or doctors who spent very short time and effort for the actual treatment and tried to sell their package, he really focused on the treatment. On the first treatment, I saw instant result that my dark brown spots were almost gone. I got a package treatment about a week ago. I was worried about the redness for a few days but now my face is all healed from the laser heat stimulation and my skin looks very firmer and actually look a few years younger!! I don't know what he did but the wrinkles in my forehead disappeared!! The color of the brown spots became weaker and much less noticeable but still remained. I guess I will get some more treatment in about two months. He said he will not use the strong pulse in the beginning treatment for safety. I'm very happy with the result and appreciate his professional treatment with so much care and time. I could feel he really cared for my skin throughout the entire treatment. read more

06/01/2016 I just had the worst Groupon experience ever today! I was giving an appointment today for 2pm for Microdermabrasion with laser photo facial at their Manhattan 5th avenue office. There were two man at the reception desk, they made me sign a disclaimer form and wait (no greetings, no smiles). I've been waiting for over an hour in which time both of the front desk guys completely ignored me, no apologies for waiting, nobody even bothered to offer a glass of water (it's a hot day today and took me an hour to get to the place of the appointment). I have never seen anyone with less personalities at the front desk of the beauty services than these two clowns ! I finally started asking what is going on and then a third man appeared (didn't introduce himself either, but looked like he might be an office manager) and he finally sent out one of the guys to check inside. Upon his return the guy ignored me again without any explanations and upon waiting for another 10 min the manager returned and ask the guy what happened. The guy answered to the manager in the manner that I couldn't here his answer and then finally the manager told me that it could be another 30 min wait and finally apologized. At this point I was totally disgusted with the service and walked out of the office. I completely wasted almost 3.5 hours of my time today (over 2 hours commute to and from and over an hour wait) and had the worst customer service experience ever! I would never go back to this business again and would like to warn everyone else to stay away from this place! read more

I would give zero stars if I could...I should have read reviews before making the appointment but I'm glad I at least read them while I sat in the dingy and sketchy waiting room for my appointment. Considering I was visiting the 5th avenue location I did expect some kind of spa or at least a legitimate office of which this establishment is neither. Apparently James brings all his equipment on the train with him from office to office and doesn't have a professional treatment room at all. I didn't make it as far as the bathroom or treatment area but judging from the waiting area I'm so glad I didn't. I received 3 text messages 30 minutes after my appointment time from a strange number that I later realized were from James even though I had just spoken with his receptionist. Which brings me to tell you about my first contact with this place...I called wanting information about the procedure and was asked repeatedly "well, what do you want to know about it" when I asked for information not really sure other than wanting the basic info of what it consists of, how long it takes, recovery period etc but the receptionist was rude and short with me so it should've told me from the first contact how unprofessional this is. Ultimately, I decided not to continue to wait for James to show up for the appointment and am glad I didn't because who knows what the result would've been. Also, that afternoon I received about 5 more text messages from James at Laser Now inviting me to take advantage of "special offers for valued customers" and it just started sounding pretty desperate. read more
