There is a reception area when you come in, and restrooms not far from it. There are two levels. Each one is very user friendly. There are tables and chairs to sit, and stay a while. There are lots of books and games available. Computers are also available to use.

There's a section of Best Sellers that current popular books are available for check out. I've checked out some epic reads without having to wait. I like browsing the shelves and seeing staff picks placed on placards next to the book on the shelf. I've read many books that I wouldn't have read otherwise from the recommendations. I've recently started checking audio books and books on Kindle through the Libby app. I love it! I love that they do different events. I've taken my grandkids to family friendly events. Last week I had to check out the current artwork being displayed. I was mesmerized by the Warrior Women Portraits by Danyel Rogers. I received an email that there was an artist reception being put on for her. Many of the subjects of her photographs were in the audience. The reception was nicely done. I hope to make many future events!

There are so many perks that come along with being a library card holder, including access to all Washington country libraries, Libby which provides access to digital & audio books, and annual tickets to local attractions like museums and gardens. On this particular occasion my husband and I decided to walk around the pond/park for about 30 minutes before entering the library. Upon entry we were immediately greeted by a friendly volunteer and we perused the ground floor, looking at the bookshelves before heading upstairs to find a place where we could collaborate on our annual goals. Before finding a spot we encountered a young man who helped us get set up with our library cards. Then we found a place to sit and we got to work. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people utilizing all the library amenities - computers, printers, study rooms and notary service.

It gave me a place to feel like I can be comfortably outside of my home and connect with other parents/caretakers with their kids. There is a good selection of books in the kids section. They have a little play area with puppets/costume play, dollhouses, Lego and train sets, a kitchen, and an enclosed outdoor area to play. Overall, they have fun events year round for everyone of all ages. There is story time, hunts, book signings, and lectures you can attend. If you're a parent and it's your first time coming here, sign your kid up for the Dolly Parton book club. You get one free book a month up until they're 5 yrs old. It's specific to your kid's age.

This library was renovated just a few years ago and has a very open floor plan and lots of room. While it doesn't have the excitement of a downtown library, it is a great resource and I've found the staff very helpful. They've helped me track down items from other branches and usually I am able to get the book, CD or movie earlier than anticipated. Nice web site to manage your account on-line. I also get a kick out of the arial photos showing how Wilsonville has grown during the last century and a gorgeous wood carved landscape hanging in the main vaulted area of the library. This branch has a large childrens' area and many programs (story time in English and Spanish) and events. Good amount of computers in both the regular and childrens' areas as well. Wilsonville was also home to Walt Morey (childrens' author/Gentle Ben), so there are a few items in memory of him. I get most of my movies here and they are usually in good condition (for some reason it seemed like the movies I borrowed from the Tualatin branch had so many scratches the movies were unwatchable). You can also borrow a cultural pass from any Oregon library that gets you in free to some of our most interesting attractions (Classical Chinese Garden, Japanese Garden, Pittock Mansion and Portland Children's Museum to name a few). The things I wish were a little better were the weekend hours - they don't open until 2:00p on Sunday. I also think they have a pretty small selection of magazines.

I didn't account for the mass of people however...it just took me a couple extra minutes to find a parking spot then I went in. The experience this time was considerably better. There was more noise than usual, but it was for a good reason. There was assisting going on...with many translators available that was helping people. There wasn't any DoorDash issues and the kids there were pretty well behaved. I was able to complete my task very quickly and efficiently and that was definitely a good thing.

What makes it better is that it's part of the Shute Park, that includes a large play structure, the aquatic center, green areas and a parking lot that accommodates about 30 cars. You can spend a whole day with the family here, full of fun and healthy activities. There's a family restroom by the children's area, a large meeting room as well as a few small meeting rooms. Internet is free and desks have electric outlets so you can work here comfortably. You may bring food and drinks in. A computer training room is available, with about 29 computers and a projector. Since it's a small library, the selection of books and movies is limited, but that doesn't stop people from coming to enjoy a quiet, relaxing and entertaining place to read or browse on the Internet.
