Worst pedicure ever. I had a girl named Kim I think. She soaked my feet in cold water and gave me the most unattentive pedicure. I was done in 20 minutes. The massage was a joke ( this was important to me as I just moved into our new house and was achy after the move). Will not be going back to this place. Everytime I have gotten a pedicure it was a relaxing experience and I've had 100 in my lifetime. This was the first time I felt like I wanted to leave as soon as I say down. Having acrylics for 3+ years now, I've been to my fair share of salons. This place is on the higher end of the spectrum with nice decor and clean work stations. The fill job I had done turned out very nicely. Had to take off two stars though. One: while I appreciate the sign from management to staff to not talk on their cell phones, I think they misunderstood. None of the workers talked. At all. Add in no music and it made for an eerily quiet manicure. Two: their selection of nail polish was surprisingly minimal. Very few OPI colors and not much else. I'd rather try out new colors since I'm paying for it rather than bring my own expensive polish. They remodeled a couple months ago so decor was very fresh and modern. All in all, not a bad experience but they could do a bit more to up the customer experience. read more

Love this place. Christine and Brianna are really great with gel manicures and are so nice. Perfect shape and thickness every time, and they always last at least 2 weeks. I have been here twice for shellac and decided that I will not go anywhere else! They do an amazing job. My first manicure looked PERFECT for at least 3 weeks. They take their time and make sure that they are doing a good job. I feel really bad because I did not know that they don't give you an option to tip when you pay with a card. Probably the worst pedicure I've had. Don't don't massage at all, just rubbed the lotion around for a few minutes. Paint job was bad. Water was cold in basin and had to ask twice for warm. Didn't out the jet on till they came over to start the pedi. When I asked for it the lady snapped "You wait." I'm not always able to schedule things ahead of time and they have been able to accommodate me within an hours notice, something I value when I want a polish change, or new flowers on my toes or a french manicure for a function. I made an apt to come in at 6:30. When I got there though they were full and I had to wait. That's ok but then since I was the last one there, they rushed through my pedicure. So much so that on her way out the door the tech rubbed her jacket across my still drying toenails and smeared the polish. Rather than take the time to fix it, her friend rubbed some nail polish remover over my toe and told me not to worry; it' would be fine. They then shoved me out the door and asked me to let them dry at home. Normally you get a few minutes to let your toes dry, or they spray the insta-dry, or put you under the lamp but that was not the case here. I wish I had my money back. read more

Stay away from this place! Not only was the salon run down and uninviting, the techs were very sloppy with their work and tried to enforce tipping! My 15 year old daughter and her friend went into the salon for a full set, my daughters cuticles were cut to the point of drawing blood, the nails were not painted entirely, one of the nails got smudged while under the lights and they wanted to charge her more money to fix it, then proceeded to tell my daughter to go to the grocery store to buy something small to get cash back to give her a tip.......are you serious!!! read more

I stopped going her a couple years ago because the service was poor and the place was a mess. I heard they had remodeled so stopped by at 7:30. The posted hours clearly say that they close at 8:00 but when I walked in I was informed they were closed. The place looked much nicer than i remembered but I'm guessing the service would have been the same. There are several other nail salons with in a mile or so in the Renton Highlands so Newcastle Nail's convenience no longer wins out. read more

I walked out of my last manicure here. I have never felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome during a service. I get my nails done a lot and I have never walked out on any service in the past. The lady was sloppy with the manicure, the cuticles were ragged and the color was gooey and incredibly uneven. She was very rude to me during the time she was working on me. I had her take it off, paid for my shellac removal and left. I will never get my nails done here again. I have gotten my nails done here a couple of times and some of the experiences were better, but this was not the first time I felt uncomfortable so I will not go back. read more

Years ago, they were the only nail salon in Newcastle, I was not impressed with their service rather drive the distance to Issaquah for better nail cares. The last couple years two more nail salons opened in Newcastle, which provided more choices for the locals. On May 23rd, I needed a last-minute manicure and my usual go to salon was fully booked. I decided to give Newcastle Nail another try, wishfully thinking maybe they have improved over the years. But no! They were just as bad as they were. Their salon was dirty and clutter, staffs were chatty in their language, my nail technician was trimming my cuticles without even looking at my fingers. I always bring my own nail polishes, nail files, cuticle clippers and nail soaking tub. She didn't cap my polish bottle properly, it got spilled all over the nail tub. I've been to my fair share of nail salons (from the ultra-fancy and expensive ones - like Frenchy's in Madison Park - to the super cheap and quick, neon-sign-in-the-window ones) and this one wins every time. They are continually renovating and making the salon nicer. The most recent upgrade was hardwood floors and brand new massage chairs (I think they have six or eight now - great for groups!). The women who work here are quick, friendly, and talented. The woman who owns the salon (can't remember her name) gave me the best French manicure I've ever had (free-hand; she didn't have to touch it up with a paintbrush dipped in remover like most other places) and it lasted for at least a week. The real reason I come here, though, is for the pedicures. They are amazing and the polish lasts for weeks. Aand for $5, you can get a flower painted on your big toes (sometimes with a rhinestone or two!). For about $45, you can get a spa French manicure and spa pedicure with flowers. A great deal if you ask me! read more

This place was ok. They were able to get me and my daughter in as walk ins. The store decor is an interesting mix of potential spa colors with stick on large Seahawks decal and a cardboard cutout of Russell Wilson. They do use plastic for the pedi tubs but I'm ok with that as it keeps it sanitary and it's not like the ambience of this salon is high end. The staff were decent but the lady working on my nails got mad at me when i tried to pick up my shoes to walk from the pedi chair to the mani table. She kept shaking her head at me and whispering her disapproval that I did that after she buffed. They gave me a large difficult to manage box to look at different shellac colors. I picked on I like but then they said that wasn't a good brand therefore I needed to pick another color. Makes me wonder why they keep that set of colors in the box to begin with? They were very willing to paint my daughters nails for $5. My toes and nails are ok but the filing isn't straight and the edges of the shellac isn't super clean. For the same price I can go to the nail salon around the corner with better quality and friendlier staff. read more

I live only 5 min from this nail salon and I will never go back . It used to be OK when I started going there 9 years ago but since that time it has deteriorated in cleanliness , assortment of nail polish colors , and most of all, customer service . The amount of nail polish is so minuscule that it chips in just 4 days . I am sick of having to go back there for a " redo " . The older woman , who may be the boss , is always scowling , never smiles and just doesn't make the trip worth it for me . I used to " cringe " at the thought of getting her as my technician . OK, 2 weeks later and the worst pedicure I have had in over 20 years. She polished over the cuticles so my nails look awful. She barely scrubbed my feet and the massage was the worst ever. As already mentioned, both small toes were completely smudged because she took off the toes dividers and made me sit by the cold door to dry when nobody else was even waiting for service. My nails looked and felt so bad I went to another place after only 10 days.........everywhere else my pedicure lasts at least 3-4 weeks. Oh yeah, and before she polished my nails, she drained the water and sprayed the disinfectant in the bowl and started to clean it right under my legs! How tacky and unpleasant. I recently went here a couple days ago. I called and made an appointment specifically telling them I needed a fill and a polish change and they said yes okay that is fine. I went in and one of the girls there started helping me and doing my nails. She seemed in a hurry and she started to get the machine out where you put your hands in when you get the gel on your nails with the blue light. I then asked very nicely you are still doing the fill right? Because I had acrylics on. And she looked at me and said what? I asked you 2 times if you needed a fill. I said to her I had called earlier and SPECIFICALLY said that's what I needed. She then started to argue with me about me needing a fill and was going to PUT the COLOR ON my acrylics with NO FILL. Could you imagine what that would have looked like??? Also argued with me in front of other clients. I was completely shocked that this person who does nails all day everyday would even think to put color on my nails when they looked ABSOLUTELY horrible and barely any acrylic left on my real nails. I don't recommend going to this place. If I do go here ever again she will not be doing my nails. Oh and also my acrylics are very thin too I just noticed yesterday. I have been trying to find a good nail salon with decent prices so I decided to try this place out. BIG mistake! The lady cut my toe nail while giving me a pedicure and infection instantly after leaving the salon. My toe become very red, swollen, and I could barely walk for three days. I'm happy with this salon. The staff is friendly, it's in a good location, they have good music most of the time, and of course, my nails look great pretty much every time I leave there. I have had manis, pedis and shellac and the majority of the time, their spa massage is less than one minute per foot/ hand. This is disappointing. I love my foot and hand rub! I've seen a few negative reviews talk about the plastic bag inserts that are used in the tub and for me personally, I would prefer to have those present for hygienic reasons. I just come to change my nails and toes. I chose a shellac color for my nails and they did chose the one that is suppose to match. When they finished I noticed that it really didn't match. My fingers were pink and my toes almost orange. She ask me to chose the one the matches better for me. When I chose the color she just put it top of the orange one. I went in for a mani/pedi with reluctance, I've been prior and had a horrible finish to the paint, very sloppy and uneven. Without much pumice or cleaning around the nail the finish on my pedi is, yet again, sloppy, uneven, and polish painstakingly visible around the edges of my nails. That was just the pedi. As for my mani, she starts by filing my nails and asked if I'd like my thumb shorter and I replied no, to only shape. As she continued to the color, I notice ALL of my nails are as short as to the top of my nailbed-cannot scratch my a** even if I wanted. There was lint on a nail and I point it out-she "does not see anything" as she stares and puts my nail in every angle possible, but finally removes the polish to redo. She also had to add another coat to another sloppy nail (third coat) of which I asked to put a third coat on all as the color is deeper than the others. With hesitance, she applied the third coat and top. Without following client preference (the shorter than short nails), cleaning around the the nail, sloppy uneven finish -- VOILA! terrible service from the moment you walk in. Terrible customer service. Terrible service. Terrible finish. I could have done a better job myself. I've been there several times due convenience (my salon is in Queen Anne); needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

I stopped here to get my eyebrows waxed, since my usual place was closed, and had the WORST experience. The wax was burning hot, and the woman rushed through the waxing. She plucked more hairs out than she got with the wax, and she actually removed a chunk of my eyelid! She left so much wax on my face that my eyelids were glued open and my hair stuck to the side of my face. Not to mention the fact that my brows now look terrible. I would have asked her to fix them, but was afraid that she'd remove the entire brow. Will NEVER stop here again. read more

Don't go here. worst nails I've ever gotten & worst service by far! this old lady did my nails and she can barely see. there was lints stuck on my nails during polish application & when I told her...she couldn't see it so she had to have another tech look at it and even then...no apologies nor did she acknowlege it. Her techniques were terrible (I could do my own nails far better than her & I was never trained). above all, their service is awful. The whole time I was getting pedicure & manicure, they were just talking to each other in Vietnamese and the funny thing is...there is a note posted on the wall of the salon "English Only while customer is present". It feels so uncomfortable when you're sitting there and can't understand what they're saying and it was very bothering. Another thing that was awful was that they're not clean. The towels were so old and dirty looking and all of their tools were dirty and they don't seem to sanitize it well, if at all and I've never been to nail salon who uses Dawn (dish soap) to clean customer's feet!!! I was hoping to make this my new go to nail place but that will not be the case. I was excited to see that they offered dip powder as an option and tried it, which I normally get done at Amy's nails in kingsgate (love). They put on so many layers my nails were so thick which looked terrible, not to mention they didn't even clean the excess powder off my fingers!! It looked like I had dipped my hands in kool-aid powder for the next 24 hours, took quite a few washes to get the stains off.. After a few days they did return to normal but my polish chipped quickly because it went on so thick. They also rush SO MUCH. Put on their coats and tell you to leave even when they have 10 minutes until close and your nails are still wet. They do not pay attention to details and honestly don't act appreciative of their paying costumers. Save your money and go somewhere else when it comes to your fingers. Pedicures there depending on who you get can be ok. read more
