Much to my dismay, the level of service and integrity of this establishment has decidedly tanked. We have been enjoying the food here for going on nine years, yet tonight I hit my breaking point with New Castle Pizza: A rather simple request, we ordered two pizzas, as well as a flatbread. One of the pizzas was for the kids, and if you have children, you know how they can be as to what they will eat vs. what they won't touch. I order their version of a meat lover's special, sans Mushrooms & olives. When we arrived home and I saw the pizza had Mushroom and Olives, I called them, fully expecting a refund or at the very least, a credit for another Pie. The response I received--and I'm quoting verbatim--was: "We can't do anything for you." And sadly, this is the hubris--the blatant arrogance--that restaurant owners can fall prey to, when they get just a little too big for their britches. We enjoyed an awesome meal here last night. We had the meatball appetizer and the wood-fired chicken wings as a starter. The meatballs were so tender and the sauce was delectable. So much so that we almost licked it off of the plate. We had the wings buffalo style. They were so juicy inside which we don't get very often. We had the International Contest pizza. They won an award in 2017 for this pie. We have a wood-fired oven and know what it takes to make a good pizza starting with the dough. Their's was the bomb! This is the best pizza in the entire region. When I moved here, I despaired of ever finding really great pizza. It's far away my favorite food and while I have tried different pizzas that scratch the itch, no local place has held a candle to my beloved favorites around the US - Pizzeria de Laura in Berkeley, Barones in Los Angeles, Lou Malnoti's in Arizona. As my attached photo shows - what I ordered and what I got are not the same. And when I called about it I experienced the worst customer service. Had I been told upon ordering that the Stella 2.0 comes with a dry bag of arugula on the side and no lemon juice/olive oil/sea salt then I wouldn't have paid more to have the "2.0" version. I called just confused and trying to inquire about having the dry bag of arugula on the side and the lady immediately is offended and says "I'm going to have you talk to the head chef to explain" and I can hear her say to him "can you talk to this customer? I'm about to freak out on her cuz she's talking about the Stella 2.0 coming with a dry bag of arugula on the side!" The poor guy is interrupted from his job, I let him know I could totally hear her and that due to that: they just lost a customer. I'm disappointed I chose them over the 10+ other options in the area. Moving forward I'll be taking my business elsewhere and letting everyone else know my experience. Maybe have a option for the paying customer to decide if they want arugula on the side/dry in a bag or risk it being soggy with the lemon juice/olive oil/ sea salt - or just have it as only in person option, not to go order. Either way/ it's very misleading and I'm disappointed with how the pizza came out, it's not what I thought I was ordering and then the customer service after totally ruined my appetite. I'm way overdue to write a yelp review for Newcastle Pizzeria. We moved to the area in October 2023, and are so grateful our realtor recommended we try it out. We have probably been here at least 15 times in the last year-plus. If it is actually 20+ times, I wouldn't be surprised. So, as you can guess .... we love it. LOVE IT. I rarely give a 5 star reviews, most places can't execute at that high a level is all aspects. Newcastle Pizzeria does .... over and over ... so it is no brainer to give 5 stars... it's so well deserved. Where to start? Everything is so, so good. The food, the servers, the setting/vibe... we love it more every time we go, have never had a bad anything. Their award-winning pizza- "International Pizza Award Winner 2017" is one of the best we've ever had. Super thin, cooked in a wood burning oven to perfection, the taste combo of this pizza is incredible. Portabella, Crimini & Button mushrooms with Pepperoni with crumbled pepperoni and feta ... beyond words. It's totally Italian/Neapolitan style. We've traveled all over Italy, eaten at all the best pizza places in NYC, Tony's in SF. Newcastle holds their own with all of them. They nail the pizza. SO GOOD. Lately, we've been primarily going on Monday nights for their amazing Monday Night Special, this from their website: "Every Monday night we will be offering 2 pints of beer OR. 2 glasses of house wine, one Newcastle salad along with a 2-topping pizza for $30! (a $52 value) Come in and enjoy this incredible deal! *dine in only". This was originally set up as a limited time special for football season, but the owner decided to continue it, much to our delight. You might want to call ahead to see if you're trying to go on Monday. But this place is worth is every night. I hope posting this doesn't come back to bite us when we go on Monday nights lol ... it's usually lively but not too crazy busy. For the pizza, we get a pepperoni and mushroom every time- spectacular. Even the crust by itself- that last couple of bites- is amazing - whether plain or dipped in ranch, buffalo sauce or the leftover vinegarette dressing from the salad. The cheese and topping are all top notch/delicious too, so it all works together wonderfully. Speaking of salad ... The Newcastle salad is so delicious, well put together and the produce is perfection every time- it always arrives looking like it could be in a photo shoot. Every time. The champagne vinegarette is perfect. It is plenty big to share amongst two people. The hidden surprise - IMO - are their wood fired grilled wings- I LOVE wings, they are one of my favorite things to eat - when they're really good. I'm a purist and love authentic Buffalo style. They have those, but we get ... and I'm telling you ... they are beyond words... the "Rosemary, Garlic & Parmesan" ones. OMG. They have a crusted coating that is like a cheese skirt. So unique and flavorful, rich but not overwhelming. Comes with ranch, and I order a side of buffalo as well once I've taken care of the outer part on the first few bites. So I get the best of both worlds. Overall, this is one of our most favorite meals and restaurants and we are so happy before, during and after each time we go. Fully satisfied to the nth degree. We drive home every time with big smiles on our faces talking about how much we love this place. The service and servers are so good and so very nice. It's getting where they recognize/remember us now, and we always let them know how much we love the place and how great their service is. Small town feeling. As I told our server last night, it's one of our "happy places". They seem to enjoy/appreciate working there, it comes across so genuinely and adds to the perfection of everything. My thanks to owner and staff. This is a really special place, I hope it never changes. By the way, there are so many other tremendous pizza places within 15-20 minutes from here- and we have definitely hit some great other ones and have plans to hit a few other highly regarded ones. But this is our number 1, we go here more than all the other places combined... this place is- as I said earlier - SPECIAL. read more

The pizza is made with high quality ingredients, the service is amazing and the wine and local beer selection went perfectly with our food.
