This is one of my family's favorite restaurants, in Middletown. The staff is always friendly and quick to seat us. They can accommodate small and large parties. We've been here, more times than I can count. We also order delivery on a regular basis. We've never been disappointed; everything arrives on time, fresh and hot. Their pizza (and sauce) is wonderful, as are the grinders, pasta and salads. My husband is a huge fan of their Cheeseburger Grinder. This was part of today's order (and almost every order). Today, I ordered the Greek Wrap. Unfortunately, it was missing the signature Tzatziki sauce. The apps are standard for a pizza joint. They used to have these crunchy, addictive french fries. More like 3.5 stars, Newfield pizza is a nice local option that provides delivery. The pizza is always fresh and not too greasy. I typically go with a pepperoni/sausage combo and the prices are reasonable. I recently tried the Winger pizza which has chicken, wing sauce, blue cheese and mozzarella and it was great. Not everyone does a good buffalo chicken pizza so I was pleasantly surprised. We live around the corner from Newfield Pizza. Our preferred pizza has always been Illianos, but they got expensive. Then we'd go to Freddy's on main st in Cromwell. But Newfield Pizza DELIVERS and that's a huge plus. I called for delivery at 812pm. The woman on the phone was very patient and friendly as I had to run out to the car to get my wallet. They said it'd be 45 minutes and I felt bad because they closed at 9pm. They didn't seem bothered though. The guy got to our door at 9:07pm and was really friendly. After the great no Anchovies closed down I decided to try another pizza restaurant. My first time I ordered the Chicken parmesan dinner. It was ok and price similar to others. My second visit I ordered a sausage with pineapple pizza and was money shocked that they considered this to be a speciality pizza and it cost 33% more for what is a standard topping-(pineapple) EVERYWHERE else. I can only assume the primary reason is price... The pizza here is every bit as good as what you can find in the freezer case at your local supermarket [that's not a compliment]. I have been enjoying their food for years. It's basic comfort food, so don't get a 4-star Zagat rating attitude on this little gem. At least they don't 'burn' their food all the time - unlike a very highly rated Middletown famous zagat rated restaurant downtown that I shall NOT name!. I love the crispy pizzas - try them all - they are fabulous!. Their burgers, grinders are great!. And the Italian food specials are always on point. I avoid the wraps. The apps. And THE FRIES.....they changed varieties, and for some reason they just are not as crispy or tasty. But other than that it's great here!!!. The first time I ordered from here was on a Tues and I had chicken wings and a cheese pizza which was was pretty good! The wings were crispy and tasted fresh and the cheese pizza tasted fine. I thought finally I found my go-to chicken and wings place! But the second time I went it was closer to the weekend Thurs and I ordered the chicken wings again... My friend had informed me about Newfield pizza a while ago, but recently I finally decided to go. The food was suitable, the crust was delightful, and the pizza wasn't too cheesy. They placed a satisfactory amount of sauce on the pizza. I also decided to indulge myself in their buffalo wings. I wasn't the happiest with the lack of sauce they splatter on my wings, so I found myself dipping in the blue ranch a lot to make up for the sauce. Furthermore, the hygiene was first-rate; the tables were cleaned to perfection, and the seats were free of crumbs. Overall the experience was not special, but not the worst. I ordered a chicken polo pizza. I had an allergic reaction because there is pine nuts in the pesto. It's not listed on their menus. Once I realized I was having an allergic reaction I called the restaurant because online I read pesto could be made with walnuts or pine nuts. I asked the girl who originally took my order if my food had nuts in it. She said she didn't know and proceeded to ask someone in the kitchen, he responded yes pesto has nuts but he wasn't sure which nut it was. My husband and I I recently went to this resturant as part of a party of 25 - 30 people. The food was good and the waitress did her best based on the fact she was the waitress only one for a party of this size. One of my guest did receive his dinner for 45 to 50 mins later. Other guest that arrived after him had already received their meal. My other guest waited approximately an hour an 20 mins and then the dinner delivered was incorrect. I spoke to the Manager and I was appalled at his reponse. HE WAS SO RUDE!!!! He basically said he did not care and if I did not like it to get of his resturant.. Even if he has apologized I would have excepted it, but to have that attidue was totally unacceptable!! I have never experienced this attitude from Managment from any resturant or in fact anywhere and will never vist that resturant again and recomend that anyone one else does. read more

Worst place ever as far as service. There were only two tables that were occupied while we were there (ours being one of those) and the waitress acted as though she couldn't keep up. She was INCREDINLY rude. Never checked to see if we needed refills. We never got our bread w/our dinner until we asked for it and then she acted as though it was an inconvenience. We've been customers forever. We come for the pizza, especially these days we order takeout. They deliver but we've always picked it up. The kids still like their plain cheese pizza, and we generally order one with veggies - onion, roasted pepper, and mushrooms being favorites. Last night's was especially good, the roasted peppers tasted freshly roasted, the crust was perfect, sauce was fresh and not over seasoned, and the whole pizza was not over salted as some can be. To be honest, over the years we've had a few pizzas that were not as good as others, but lately they've been nailing it. We've tried many of the other pizza places around, but we always seem to gravitate back to this one as the most consistent go-to for pizza. We love this little place. If you like thin crust pizza done exactly the way you ask, you'll like it here. It's when you sit down with a menu that this restaurant really amazes. They make their own lobster ravioli - very thin raviolis, big around and stuffed fat with lobster meat, in an excellent sauce. It's worth the trip just for that, but everything we've tried has been wonderful, and the prices are right, especially given the large portions.
