Turkey Half Grinder. Bread was hard and they put tomato when asked without! (Rating 5 Stars)

Goes down hill every month, I like the type of pizza but keep trying and hoping it gets better but you can tell it's not as busy and the reason is food and service going down hill!

1/2 eggplant 1/2 peppers and onions

Pizza! Pizza! Pizza! Always in search of a deliciously, satisfying pie! This pizza delivered! (Well, I picked it up). The sauce was fresh and so tasty, the crust had just the right crunch. The eggplant was perfectly cooked and placed in perfect proportion on the pie. Peppers and onions were a melody of yumminess. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, the place clean and inviting. Next time I plan on eating in to prevent drooling in the car bringing the pizza home.

Wet chopped salad without any dressing. Spoiled lettuce throughout.

Heard a few ppl talk this place up and decided to try it. It's a decent pie, nothing outstanding, not bad either. Was going to give a better review, until I saw their chopped salad. The chopped salad was completely wet without dressing and had spoiled lettuce throughout (picture). Guessing their salad mix froze and thawed out or just became watery from being bad. I prob should have looked at it before I tipped them for takeout. At least the girl who took my order over the phone was very sweet and friendly in person too. As someone who lived a few streets over from Wooster St. in New Haven, I find it criminal that this and many others say they're "New Haven Style." Nothing New Haven about it. Why? because it has charred crust? Not 1/2 as good as Sally's, The Spot, Pepe's, Abate's, or Modern on State St. BAR on Chapel etc.

This place is horrible do not eat here

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING!!! Rude inattentive staff and owner !! Today I watched the rude blond girl talking on the phone while ignoring customers completely . It took the guy 11 minutes to pay for his food while she took phone orders. I went in to pick up my food and was completely ignored by this stuck up blonde . I refuse to do business with a business that doesn't value customers!!! So I left without their mediocre pizza . I tried to call to tell them that I won't be picking up my order and the rude girl answered "please hold" and left me on hold for more than 5 minutes DO NOT SUPPORT A BUSINESS LIKE THIS DO NOT TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT

    Large Veggie Bomb.

This was my first time 1). ordering through Doordash, and 2). ordering from South Town Apizza. The reviews on here are stellar: it's the whole reason I placed STA on my "Wish List" of places to try. And I desperately wanted to be impressed. The pizzas we ordered are tasty: love the sauce on the regular cheese pizza with extra cheese; the Veggie Bomb was not as flavorful as we'd hoped (kind of bland; not even a hint of garlic which is unlike most white pizzas). Fresh ingredients, super thin crust, but definitely not New Haven style pizza because this pizza is simply TOO thin, too cracker-like crispy without the necessary chew, and a bit too much char (maybe a bad night?). As a pizza purist, I like what I like, and I apologize if my view differs from others, but I was weaned on pizza, living upstairs from my Italian grandparents as a young child, and attending college on Long Island with frequent trips into NYC (not to mention my travels through Italy). I've had great pizzas, and this is good pizza, just not great pizza, and not better than some places here in Wolcott. I'm sorry, truly, but if you've ever had, for example, Sally's Apizza, you'd know what I mean. As for Doordash? Thirty minutes later than what was quoted, but the pizza still arrived warm (but not hot). Pizza's always better when you pick it up yourself, I think, so that's pretty much a done deal, too. As I said, I really wanted a GREAT pizza place nearby, but so far, the search continues.

Ordered a Penne ala Vodka pizza, which is one of my favorites to get. Now, you would think that ordering a pizza like that, the sauce in it would either be vodka sauce or at the very least a white sauce to allow the "ala vodka" to shine.... Boy would you be in for a surprise if you got it...RED SAUCE!! On a "ala vodka" pizza?! All the description says is "Aces award winning pizza" so I guess you're supposed to guess incorrectly at their pizza. Apparently, there's also a "Vodka Pizza" on the menu with vodka sauce, but that doesn't come with any pasta on it and is extra money to add to it. Make that make sense. Anyways, called to ask why it was like this and the owner, whose name is "Ace" must have gotten offended because he told me it was "award winning" and that I didn't know what I was talking about. He hung up on me! If I am going to pay $25 for a pizza there are plenty of other places in town I would go to: Domenic and Vinnie's, Riverbend, even Spartan's! If you want an excellent Penne Ala Vodka pizza, go to The Avenue in Berlin, CT and don't patronize this place!!

The price for takeout for these (3) things were on the high side to not include a side salad. With that said, we were aware that those weren't included as it wasnt listed on their online ordering. We just figured the portion for both Entrees were likely larger and thats why you paid a la carte for the salad. We come back home with the takeout and to our surprise for quite a high price, the portions were small. How small, each meal fit with pasta inside a plastic container, similar to those used for Asian takeout. For any other restaurant that serves Chicken Parmigana, its always been a larger round metal dish with pasta on the side. Typically with 2 pieces of chicken. Putting portion aside as one can argue that we may have been able to find that out before ordering, the (2) entrees were not great. The Chicken Parmigana had one piece of chicken and the chicken was charred, dry, minimal amount of cheese and the both the chicken and pasta itself had a scarce amount of pasta sauce. I found myself having to scrub the side of the dish for any sauce left. The lemon bay chicken was also quite dry and unfortunately the mixture of recip (chicken, pasta and sauce) was quite tasteless. I'm not typically one to leave a 1 or 2 star reviews often, as I'd rather just not go again to the place where I had said experience but between the quality of food, price and portion, this place falls into a bit of an exception for me. Look, I've eaten at many places, if your portions are going to small for the price (and without sides), then the quality needs to EXCEED the excepted regional standard for that dish to justify that reasoning. This experience did not do that, instead we are left with half of take home container of each meal that we will have to toss in trash for Fathers Day.

As I walked through the front doors, I noticed kegs alongside on the floor. This was kind of a turn off, kind of reminds me of a dive bar. So my mentality kicked in that we were going into a dive bar serving food. I kinda get the sketchy feeling. Once we were seated, and menus placed, we were served iced water A few minutes later, the server came back and took our order. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and some string french fries. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken, which came with two sides. I chose the rattlesnake beans and the creamy macaroni and cheese. Also include included was cornbread I originally wanted the street corn, as a side, but it was not available. Our lunches came quick, and my friend only ate half the french fries and cheeseburger, as she wasn't really turned on by them. The smoked chicken was fairly dry, with a very interesting smoked flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. I eat about 1/3 of it. Left the rest on the plate. The creamy macaroni and cheese was out of bounds top-notch. I could've eaten this all day. The rattlesnake rice and beans were just OK. The rice was cooked pretty good, and was seasoned well. The beans had a weird taste. Now thinking of this side dish, I was hoping for raw onions to be on top, but they were nowhere to be found. It'll be nice if there was chopped raw onions to go with this. The cornbread was delicious. I ate about half of it. It was a generous slice. While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. From what I understand, the owner was near the exit when we left, not even a smile or a thank you for coming in...
