We order pizza from Village regularly. It's always a pleasure to call them. They make a wonderful thin crust pie with just the right amount of crispiness. Their sauce and toppings are delicious and plentiful. When we get delivery it's prompt and friendly. It's convenient to pick up in the same parking lot as Uncle Dee's. read more

I love trying new pizza places, so I wanted to get a good sampling from Village Pizza. I ordered the Hawaiian and a Stromboli. The Hawaiian came with bacon, which I found out today... not a fan. But that was not the only mistake. The first mistake was tasting the Stromboli first. I mean, if you like cheese stuffed crust, this thing is a whole pizza worth if cheese stuffed crust! Within the past year, I've visited Village Pizza quite a few times so it's time I write a review. I literally have been living in very close proximity to this restaurant for years and I have been missing out. I would drive far and wide for a great chicken cutlet sandwich (those who eat them should know you rarely come across a restaurant with a great one), and I must say Village Pizza makes an amazing chicken cutlet. You can tell the chicken is fresh and homemade, the bread is delicious and the sauce is very tasty. After trying the chicken cutlet, I have since moved on to the pizza and salads. My most frequent order is a pepperoni pizza and a greek salad. My only complaint is they put a ton of onions on the greek salad, but they give you a great amount of feta, olives, fresh lettuce and tomato! The pizza is also phenomenal. I added bacon to my latest order and I am now hooked. This restaurant will definitely be in higher rotation for Friday night and emergency weeknight takeout. read more

I found myself in East Berlin and, as I promised in my April 2012 review, I stopped in again for takeout. This time there were probably a 1/2 dozen people occupying the tables with most eating slices of pizza. I noticed on entering that there was an ongoing special of 2 slices of cheese pizza and a 12-ounce soda for $5.95, but I decided to swim against the tide by ordering a 1/2 hot combo (eggplant, Italian sausage, meatball & cheese) grinder. It was just okay with a tough skin on the sausage, an pedestrian tomato sauce and a mediocre roll the primary negatives. On the plus side it was very filling and inexpensively priced. This restaurant has been in business for a least 15 years so a need is being served. read more

It seems like most of the negativity here is for procedural errors. Orders made wrong, forgotten ingredients, burnt sandwich bread. And look, if these things really happened, they've earned their share of negative press. But I like pizza... pizza that tastes like the people who make it know what they're doing. That is unquestionably the case here. This is good stuff. While I think Connecticut has the best pizza in the world, I also love the New York-style slices that bring me back to my childhood, and the pizza here is definitely more New York than New Haven inspired. Thin but still easy to manage with your hands, foldable, a little char on the underside but not to the degree that New Haven usually brings forth. I can't believe I've been living in Berlin for nearly four years, and never went here until a couple of weeks ago. We like Bella, and Randy's Wooster St, and Peppino's in New Britain... but if I'm looking for something really quick, really close to my house, and offers delivery, I'm looking no further from here on. read more

I've been ordering village for years now. Sometimes I'll do takeout and another times I'll order delivery. I tend to order a pizza and they have by far the best tasting pizza in the area if not all of Connecticut, the ingredients are always fresh. The employees are always greeting with a smile and happy to help you with whatever questions you have which is always a plus on top of the excellent food they have to offer. I will definitely be coming here for as long as I live in this area. Great food and great people. read more

No one working there is wearing masks. Not the people interacting with customers or the people making your food. If you are ordering delivery, be warned. If you pick up your food and don't care, your choice. Im sure the health authority will not be pleased about this since it doesn't comply with CT safe reopening guidelines. I have been getting the ok food they serve there for a 10 years bc it is 5 minutes from my house. Never again for me. We started ordering from Village Pizza about 7 years ago. The pizza was pretty good and the grinders were delicious....especially the hot combo! We had a bad experience about a year ago with the hot combo and sausage grinders that were delivered. The bread was burnt as well as the sausage what little was in the sausage grinder and the hot combo was dry with very little sauce. We have since then given it a try a few times and have had the same experience. Being in a pinch for time, we decided to try it again last night. Ordered the same 16 inch hot combo and 16 inch sausage. The sausage in both the hot combo and the sausage grinder were dried out and way overcooked. You could barely bite into the sausage it was so hard. The hot combo priced at $11.50 contained a sausage sliced into 3 pieces, 1 meatball sliced into 4 slices, and a slice of eggplant on only one side of the grinder. The burnt sausage tainted the taste of what little else was in this 16 inch grinder. I ended up taking the sausage out and moving the meatball slice over to the 1/4 that had the eggplant which made it at least edible. When I called to order I mentioned to the person that answered that the last time we ordered the meat in the hot combo was minimal. I should have realized that it was of no concern when I ordered 1 hot combo and 1 sausage grinder and he asked me what I wanted on the pizza. I would not normally pass such negative judgement on a restaurants food nor take the time to write such a detailed review but at $23.32 for basically 2 grinder rolls, 3 links of sausage, 1 meatball, and a slice of eggplant, all tasting poorly I was not happy having made the decision to give village pizza another try. Lesson learned.....Central pizza, Berlin Pizza, even Empire Pizza...would have been a much better choice!!!!!! Never again!!! read more

Will not go back the pizza is not what I would call New York style pizza. Nobody had a mask on , would not go back

This is probably the only place around me that has pizza slices available, which for a quick lunch is okay. But after ordering again I realized my mistake. I ordered a small cheese pizza, which was good, a steak grinder for my son and because we haven't had any in a while mozzarella sticks. Rule #1 ask before toasting a grinder sanchwich, I personally wouldn't have minded but my son didn't event touch it - the bread was hard and burnt! The mozzarella sticks were Blaah :/ nothing special and no real flavor. Even though the counter person seemed really nice, they failed my Friday night dinner test. I would recommend only the lunch special which is 2 slices of pizza and a can of soda for like $5 or $6 (they let me sub for chips) but beyond that beware mediocrity city .... and they don't make gyros WTH read more

I really don't know what the poor rating is all about, this is hands down the best pizza stop in Berlin, fantastic pizza with a great thin crust and always fresh delicious toppings, a must have if in this area and have the craving for delicious pizza read more

We love Village pizza! We don't get to have it often since we live about 35 mins away but they make great pizza. My daughter and I just stopped in on way through and they have a special two slices and a can of soda for $5.99!! Slices are huge! read more

So I stop in this pizza shop on my way to work and I ordered the chicken parm lunch special. The chicken was blend and pasta was under cook..a bit too hard for me...but the guys were nice. Im a driver all around the east coast corridor so I taste the food in a whole lot of places...and I most say..it can b done better. read more

My nephew likes Village Pizza so we usually get it for carry out (though they also offer free delivery) when visiting family in the area. Today we got the veggie, a bacon and a cheese, and the veggie was really above average. The prices are a bit higher than we're used to in Michigan, but two larges hit the spot for 8 of us (with a big salad we had at home), and I'm sure we'll be going back again. Also, they do have discount coupons in their menus. read more

Ordered a few grinders for delivery and there pretty good except they forgot the lettuce on the chicken cutlet grinder. Forgot the veggies on the steak and cheese panini when I ordered and got charged for extra. Forgot the mozzarella sticks but threw in an extra ham grinder for free. That was cool.
