Son was in for a belated Fathers' Day lunch so we came here again. Always good food and nice atmosphere but our waitress seemed to be wishing she were somewhere else. Unusual because I recognized other waitstaff that we had enjoyed. Son skipped the salad and had the Lasagne which he really enjoyed and took a portion back home. I would never skip their salad as it is great especially with the house dressing. I had the Eggplant Parmesan, one of my favorite dishes, and it ranked up with the best. read more

Valentines dinner was a pleasant surprise, the valentines menu wasn't enticing so we picked from the regular menu , the ambiance was pleasant food delicious and Veronica our server very friendly, sad that they reserved the fire place area for larger parties instead of couples it would have been nice but I would have appreciated to let us know when actually making the reservation and asking for the fireplace and saying absolutely we can do that and when we arrive the hostess telling us sorry but we are booked and that area is already reserved. :( Also we ordered the valentines dessert, lava cake, I was so looking forward to it but we got a blob of chocolate mousse in a soup bowl and the manager simply said " thats how we serve it, every restaurant is different " Other that that the rest if the food was delicious. read more

This was our second year in a row of having our Easter dinner at Cafe Fiore and I think it's a great place to have it! Service was quick (almost too quick we felt like we were being rushed since it was the holiday). But besides that, the experience was good. Food was delicious and portions were HUGE. I was very happy with my decision, the chicken genovese. Two large pieces of chicken and eggplant on a huge bed of pasta. I really loved the pesto sauce, I soaked it up with their delicious garlic bread. For dessert I got the carrot cake, which I thought was okay. I wish I went with something else. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and the ambiance is unmatched! Have visited Cafe Fiore a few times with different family members, and have been blown away every time! Growing up in Jersey, Italian food is apart of our 5 main food groups. It hasn't been easy finding an Italian restaurant that reminds me of home, but Cafe Fiore hits it out of the park. First time at Cafe Fiore we stopped by on a Sunday afternoon what a wonderful experience . As soon as we entered the establishment we were greeted by the staff. Super friendly and good parking. Very good Italian food. We ordered the portobello mushroom as an appetizer came out, piping hot with lots of cheese very tasty. I ordered the Veal and Shrimp with eggplant and vodka sauce nice size portion and lots a flavor not to mention you get a salad with your meal, which is always a plus. My husband ordered the Veal Fiore with fresh tomatoes the Veal was tender and cooked to perfection. Very clean atmosphere. Decorated very nice . Enjoyed our first visit to Cafe Fiore. Early enough (5 pm) to enjoy Happy Hour pricing on several items. The arancini was crispy on the outside and very flavorful. The garlic knots were excellent!! I enjoyed my arugula salad with sliced almonds, cranberries and Parmesan cheese. My daughter said her linguini with broccoli was delicious and my husband enjoyed his lasagna bolognese. Cafe Fiore is one of my favorite places to eat. They have a decent sized dining room and a huge bar area. It's been newly renovated. They have ample parking. They start you off with a bowl of garlic knots. These are hands down the BEST garlic knots I've ever had! I always order their Chicken Genovese. It's fried thinly sliced eggplant, a layer of tomatoes then lastly chicken breast. It's served over top of pasta with a creamy pesto sauce. It comes with a side salad and their balsamic dressing is very good. Their prices are reasonable. The food is really good and love the garlic knots. Every time I go there I get their chicken parm it is amazingly delicious.

It was lovely. Kamal, our waiter, was charming. "He was right on it". He was personable and a sweetheart. The food was good...not great, but the atmosphere was excellent. Being that close to the highway, you would thing that was a focus point, but it wasn't. It wasn't even a consideration. We ate outside, had chicken parm, blanco pizza, green beans and pepperoni cups and dessert to go. It was...good, not great, but Kamal made the experience excellent. We did have a couple of cocktails...lol. The food didn't have a lot of flavor...it was bland. It definitely needed salt. Even the dipping salt for the bread, which was...good. I went to a event dinner at cafe Fiore yesterday and for a Tuesday it was packed the parking was full , thankfully the restaurant is located in a plaza so there's still plenty of parking . Walking in the place is very nice plenty of lightening clean and with a modern chic vibe. The staff was amazing and our waiter was phenomenal! He greeted us with a smile made sure he wrote everything down and did not make a single mistake and was very pleasant ! We started with a red sangria which was great , perfectly balanced for me ( not too sweet and not to bitter ) . Next we were served the house garlic parm bread ... and it was amazing I ate 3 rolls ( no regrets ) and I took some home and reheated it was still so soft and delicious ! Highly recommend the bread ! For appetizers we were served calamari which was a little underwhelming as it was a little dry , but with the marinara sauce it was okay . The mozzarella sticks were good. The clams came with bacon and if you like clams they were really good , however my favourite was the mushrooms ( these mushrooms were huge but cooked to perfection ) . For entres we got the eggplant with ricotta , chicken parm and cafe Fiore pasta . The eggplant ricotta was cooked perfectly , the chicken was a little dry . But the pasta which was like a twist on penne à la vodka ... was my favourite it was absolutely delicious !!! I mostly ate the pasta ( I had seconds even though I was stuffed .. but I just couldn't stop eating it ) highly recommend the cafe fiore pasta ! For dessert we were served tiramisu which was delicious as well ! Can't wait to come back and try some different dishes! read more

The food was at least a 4.2. The reason for my 3 star rating was the service. My initial order of a Woodford on the rocks was great. After that.... I asked the bartender her thoughts between ordering the eggplant rollatini or the eggplant parmigiana and she suggested the eggplant parmigiana which is what I ordered. The plate brought to me was chicken parmigiana which was actually piping hot ant very good so I did not object. I also ordered a vodka with cranberry juice and when the bill came I was charged for a Tito's vodka which it was definitely not as I saw her use the house brand from the rack of house brand liquor. The bartender knew I was in Cromwell for the Travelers Championship golf tournament so not sure if she thought I wouldn't care or notice. However, I was at the restaurant about a month ago and enjoyed it so I returned tonight during the golf tournament. Based upon my visit tonight I will not be patronizing them again, sorry to say. Upon recommendation, I visited the Cafe Fiore Restaurant because I was looking for a GOOD Italian restaurant option in Cromwell. Right off Route 9, along Route 372, Cafe Fiore has its own parking lot parking in front of a larger shopping plaza near the Walmart in Cromwell. I went in for a late lunch with my two daughters (pre-teen and a sleeping baby). The restaurant inside has a very classic upscale look, and I felt a little under dressed after coming from an outdoor charity event, but it wasn't an issue. There was plenty of seating (they have both indoor and outdoor), and we chose to eat inside at a booth, and the staff was very welcoming. We both got Chicken Parmigana off the menu. The sauce that Cafe Fiore makes is a sweeter sauce. It caught me off guard, but I quite enjoyed it and thought it was delicious. I'll be back the next time I'm in the area and looking for some yummy Italian food. read more

Definitely not my 1st time here. I ordered the full meal as I missed the HH by a few minutes arriving late. Actually you get the pasta and salad with it for $5 more than on the HH special. Definitely worth every penny as it's consistently always good. Never had I had a bad meal here. I usually sit at the bar for the specials. My family and I had a reservation on a Sunday. When we arrived there were no other patrons. Our server (who we later discovered was the manager), took our drink and food order without problems. A very large private party, in the other room, started to arrive. At this point in our experience the lunch was served. No one came by to offer us another round of drinks. When we finished the meal, we were interested in coffee and dessert. We had to flag someone down for the menu. Then we had to flag someone down to place the order. After dessert and coffee, someone in our group had to go to the host stand to find our server - who we had not seen since ordering the food. Our original server/manager then arrives at our table and says, "Here I am. What do you want." We could excuse the poor service to an extent, but her response to us was rude. I visited Cafe Fiore with my mom on a Friday night. It was very busy and we didn't make a reservation but they were still able to accommodate us. Our waitress was nice and attentive. I ordered the cucumber cooler (gin cocktail) and it was refreshing and tasty. They provided free garlic knots as the bread for the table that were buttery and delicious. We also ordered fried mozzarella and Caesar salad which had the perfect amount of dressing. For entree, I ordered the chicken parm with vodka sauce and my mom got the sole francaise (lemon fish fillet). Both were SO GOOD. I love that both the chicken and the fish melted in my mouth and the portion sizes were big. For dessert we got the crème brûlée and the cheesecake. It wasn't the best dessert I ever had, but it was still good. I would highly recommend eating at Cafe Fiore!! read more

Had reservations at 6:30. The restaurant was busy with large groups and the banquet hall had a party going on. We finally were served around 7:45. I noticed that my knife was on the floor so I replaced it. Much to my surprise , when the second knife was placed on the tablecloth, it slide off the table! It was a square table with round edge leafs. The leaf edges never extended fully, so the leaf was pitched downward . We talked about this to the manager and he made no effort in correcting the situation, only replacing the utensils! We were finally finished a little after 8:30 pm! The salmon grilled that was ordered was fresh but the salmon Oreganata was either frozen or ready to spoil in the fridge. read more

This is just great food and great value! We were there Saturday night at 6pm. We got drink order in at 6:20 but didn't order food for a total of 40 minutes (6:40). Food took awhile because it was busy. Then when we were done we could not get our bill. After waiting politely for a while we Had to ask a manger to bring it. You can have the best food in the world but if you can't provide the service it is no good. I'm sure I will be back but it will be at the bar next time for hopefully better service. read more

Very nice fine dining establishment in Cromwell. Tables were dressed with white table clothes and we were brought to a table by the fireplace which made our experience very pleasant. Our server was very attentive and friendly. He made sure to check in with us from beginning to end. We ordered a few appetizers which included fried calamari, fried mozzarella and portobello mushrooms. The portobello mushrooms were delicious. They were made with fresh garlic, Kalamata olives, Gorgonzola cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. For my entree I had the chicken Genovese. A chicken with fresh tomato, sliced eggplant, mozzarella cheese and topped with a creamy pesto sauce. It was served with a side of parpadelle pasta and a side salad with Parmesan peppercorn dressing. Everything was good. I have a sweet tooth so we all shared some desserts which included the Creme brulee, chocolate mousse, cannoli gelato, and cheesecake. My favorite was the cheesecake!! Cafe Fiore is an authentic Italian dining experience. We stopped by while in the area and it was a very pleasant experience. It was our first time there and we both agreed the food was very good. We started off with an appetizer course - platters of fried mozzarella cheese triangles, calamari and marinara sauce, and stuffed portobello mushrooms. I very much liked the two I tried (calamari and mushrooms). Dinner was a buffet of garlic knots, eggplant rolatini, chicken cutlets, ziti with vodka sauce, salad, and salmon with broccoli. I passed on the rolls and salmon but made a plate of salad, eggplant, chicken, pasta, and broccoli. I loved the eggplant. I've always found homemade eggplant difficult to cook. Mine is always rubbery and chewy, but Cafe Fiore's was fork tender and delicious. The chicken cutlet was thin, cooked beautifully and totally greaseless. Dessert was tiramisu and I'm sorry I neglected to include a photograph. Lets just say it was gobbled up very quickly. The servers and bartenders were professional and friendly.
