Pizza on Main has unexpectedly good pizza for a small town. I think this is because the owner seems to be always there and always working and always diligent. We have ordered the Mediterranean pizza, white, two times and it was really good both times. read more

New pizza restaurant took over Main St Pizza location. Now serving Mediterranean inspired options. I've ordered delivery & also dined in for the dinner buffet. The Mediterranean salad bar has many options of toppings. Including Harissa chicken, feta, corn w/Quinoa, Kalamata olives etc. The restaurant will make half & half pizzas but you can also request pizzas to be made which is a great way to try their various Mediterranean style pies. Which are full of flavor & oh so cheesy! I'm normally not a fan of white based pizza, but their's having interesting topping combinations, filled with flavor. I was also pleased to see they have a dessert pizza, consisting of chocolate & marshmallows. The waitress was very pleasant & attentive from start to finish. She even alerted us to new pies that were brought out & checked in to refill drinks, clear dishes & anything else we needed. Daily pizza buffet & Mediterranean salad bar 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm. We are blessed with SO MUCH great pizza in this area. And not just the quality but the diversity as well. Different regional Sicilian pies, NYC style, Neapolitan, Apizza, and then there's the humble Greek pie. It's so common here in New England, found in varying quality on a random corner in just about every small town in New England. It's typically the cheap option, fare of company pizza parties and kids' birthday parties all over the area. I think people forget sometimes that it can be done really well. Newly opened by the same folks who run Jessica's Garden (newly expanded) and Burger Heaven, this used to be the town's middle of the road Greek spot. You can tell just by the way that they've fixed the place up that they actually care. The online ordering was easy and i decided to go a little early to pick up to scope the place out. The seating arrangement is the same as the old joint but everything is new and clean. Where there were one coolers and a prep area there is a buffet area with a salad bar and several pies out. This runs for lunch and dinner hours for one price. The waitress was very nice, offered water and kept me apprised of my order status. I ordered an XL (18") specialty (Loaded Potato) for the wife and daughters. The XL was only $2 more than the L (14") so that was a no-brainer. For myself I got a small (10") with crimini mushrooms and cup and char pepperoni. My pizza was EXCELLENT. The sauce was spicy and sweet, the cheese seemed very good quality with a nice pull. The crust was crispy around the edges and soft and chewy in the center. The toppings were where the pizza really shone. The mushrooms were quartered whole mushrooms, juicy and flavorful. The cup and char pepperoni is the only kind that should go on pizza. I think I might order it well done next time to get a little extra crisp out of it. The girls enjoyed their specialty pie well enough though my wife said she wouldn't be in a rush to get that pie again. For the two pizzas, tax and tip I was out $50. Which seems a lot but when you consider the quality and how many meals you get out of it, it's pretty typical. I definitely look forward to further exploring the menu and trying out the buffet. read more

Ordered take out Pizza and a Greek salad and sadly the food experience was so bad I won't be coming back. The salad was overloaded with pepperoncino peppers (banana peppers) and kalamata olives. So much so that all you tasted were condiment juices that overwhelmed the palate. Even after taking them out you could still taste them. The salad was mostly Romain lettuce and feta, with hardly any tomatoes or cucumbers. No arugula. On the other hand, the pizza was terrible. One of the worst IMO. The crust was very thick and unevenly cooked. The bottom was cocked but it was very mushy. No crisp! The worst part was the crust had this horrible metallic taste... like the inside of the oven it was cooked in. I've never experienced this before. It was so bad I ended up throwing the whole pie out. Ordered a Margarita Pizza. It was bland. A couple of bites tasted like garlic but otherwise just very mediocre pizza.

I went back to pizza on main after they switched ownership. I have to say the pizza is better than it was before but it's still not very good. With rossinis and DaVinci's a short drive away it's just not worth spending your money on this sub par pizza. On a positive note the online ordering was easy. read more

I was very excited to try Pizza on Main after all the great reviews I heard about it. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. We ordered two small pizzas, Ladenia (olive oil and garlic base with fresh tomatoes, red onion and herbs) and a Sweet Heat (white pie, hot capicola, sausage, red onion, fresh mozzarella, lemon evoo dressed arugula and harissa hot honey) for delivery. I am overlook the fact that two small pizzas were $44 because there was a delivery charge and they were categorized as specialty on the menu. Both pizzas were very soft, almost undercooked it seemed. The Ladenia had no flavor what so ever, definitely missing those herbs. The tomatoes slices were very thick, the dough as said before was tasteless and chewy. As for the Sweet Heat, I'm not sure what flavors they were going for but it was a miss for me. I tasted no heat from the hot honey but what taste I did get from it was interesting and clashed with the sausage and capicola. It was missing the arugula and the dough/crust was chewy and tasteless like the other pizza. I won't be trying it again anytime soon but I urge you all to go give it a try for yourself, my experience does not speak for all. read more

What am I in New York or Boston????? This is little old East Hampton, Ct and with a tip we just paid $37.00 for a large pizza!!! Ridiculous! That's about $13.00 higher than we used to pay. The green peppers were cut very thick while the onions we so thin they almost disappeared and I think they've changed the sausage the previous owners used and it's definitely not as good. While we like to support local businesses, I'm afraid we'll have to pass on this one. It's just pizza folks!! Not a place to have a candlelight dinner. read more

I figured I'd give this new place a try. I ordered a large pizza with 3 toppings and paid over $30 for the pizza. I have NEVER paid $30 for a pizza before. The circumference of the pie was a little underwhelming, but it felt heavy. I soon figured out why, the middle was THICK. I've never had a pizza that was so thick with dough in the middle. It seemed like it was not pressed well in the middle. When we ate the pizza, it was mediocre. There was way too much dough for it to be enjoyable. On top of all of that, my pizza was undercooked. The service was good there and everyone was friendly. When I went to pick up the pizza, the interior of the restaurant hadn't changed a bit. It was the exact same as the previous place. Now I know that they're going through some renovations, so I'm not going to make too big of a deal about that aspect of the place, but the food needs to be WAY better to rationalize me paying that much for a pizza again. Was the old place the best? No. But it was better than this, especially price wise. read more
