My moms toilet needed new parts inside the tank I went and bought new parts for True Value in Sonora. I've never done this before I turned the water off under the toilet the pipe that goes from the valve to the tank sprung a leak. I turned the water off for the whole house and went to back to the hardware store bought 2 new valves and the pipe well as I was trying to take the old valve off the pipe coming from the wall started bending the valve wasn't budging.. I had to call a plumber my mom called Newkirk Plumbing I spoke with his wife told her what happened and that we had no running water. She was wasn't able to get anyone out that day they were working on a big job and wasn't sure about the next day either. My mom received a call back, she called her husband who is the owner, what was going on and she said he would be here this morning. He and his son showed up at 9:30, I showed them the toilet what I bought from the hardware store would not work the pipes in the bathroom were 3/8 and he didn't have anything on the truck that would fit, he and his son went to a supply company in Sonora came back and had the pipe fixed ran the line from the floor behind the toilet, they had everything fixed quick and cleaned up. I was so impressed with their service, the price was fair.. I recommend them to anyone who needs a plumber. read more

Tony and Michael Newkirk just installed an LG Heat Pump system at my home in Sonora Vista HOA Soulsbyville and I am here to let everyone know that they did a FABULOUS job in removing the old A/C system as well as the propane heating system and installing the new system. Cleaned the work site after work was completed. These 2 guys were a delight to work with, giving full explanations how the system would work. answering all of my concerns as to the benefits of a heat pump system. I wish all contractors were as honest, reliable, and hard-working as Mike Newkirk! He did such an excellent job installing a new toilet for us, we hired him again a couple years later to install a tankless water heater. He went above and beyond to do the job right, fixing the previous installer's mistakes and using higher-quality materials, even when the job took 3 hours longer to complete and the materials cost him hundreds of dollars extra out of his own pocket. From Their recommendations on layout to where we wanted the hot and cold lever in our new walk in shower, always on top of detail. I found Newkirk's Plumbing on Yelp and I'm so glad I did. I first had him come to help with a toilet that wouldn't stop running, he fixed that quickly and was so nice. The second and 3rd time we needed help with water leaks, one was a simple fix and one was a bigger job, we had a loose fitting on our water line leading from our water main, thank goodness he was able to find the problem and fix it! Most recently he came and installed 2 kitchen faucets, I would recommend Michael over and over! He was fast to respond, fair in price and very nice. read more

Absolutely phenomenal!! I'm only sorry there weren't more stars to rate him with. Although there was scheduling difficulties due to the rain ( my water heater is located outside) he was diligent in making sure the job was done as soon as possible. His rates are fair, he's extremely knowledgeable and very courteous. He works both quickly and efficiently. Moreover, he follows up with a phone call to make sure everything is working properly. Michael showed up on time and had no hesitation about wearing a mask which was important to us. He was professional, courteous and it was evident he knew his craft. When he noted that the color of the new toilets did not match the tub/sink he checked to be sure that we in fact wanted the color we purchased (which we did). He also found a crack in one of the toilets and was willing to rearrange his day to ensure we could exchange the toilet and still have it installed same day. Wish I could give Mike a 10+. Old cabin needed water heater replaced. He first tried to avoid the expense of installing a new unit by replacing the electrical parts. Once we determined it would not heat, Mike returned and installed the new unit. I have future plans for a major upgrade and Mike will be the ONLY licensed plumbing contractor I will call for the project. We called Mike Newkirk when the main water pipe burst from the meter to the house. Mike understood that we had no water and arrived quickly to access the situation. He gave us a very reasonable quote. We were able to hook up water from our neighbors' house. Mike called us that evening to make sure our water situation was suitable until the job could be completed. Mike completed the job on Saturday; his usual day off. Our yard was left neat and clean.
