Here I am in the wee hours of the morning (4 AM) after eating most of an entree salad at Newk's in Kennesaw, GA. I have had violent diarrhea almost ever since we got home. It will be a very long time before I cross that threshold again It's too bad...this was one of my favorite affordable restaurants, BUT it's not so affordable that I should endure this!!!!! Be nice to the people as soon as they enter your establishment. Certain things would be free drink , food ... you want to make your customer feel that they enjoy being a service to you. Overall there are things I like and do not like about this newks location so I'm going to rate it a 3. First off, the pizzas have always been small but I feel like $13 for the supreme thin crust personal pan pizza was a bit of a stretch price wise. We also tried the shrimp po boy sandwich which really isn't comparable to the ones in New Orleans. Really hard to live up to but this wasn't even close, so I felt like it should be called a shrimp cocktail sandwich instead. Mac and cheese with bacon was decent. Overall a good place to eat if you're in the area but I have noticed that they have reduced staffing and you are asked to order on the app instead of ordering at the counter (there was nobody at the counter when we ordered on a Friday night). The employees we interacted with were super nice though so I'm thankful for the nice people who work here! read more

Did not have time for lunch. Placed order via the app. Drove to the restaurant in about 12 minutes. My good was ready. The best part it actually was good. The Caesar dressing didn't make me cough. She returned the Tomato basil soup due to it being inedible. tasted burnt of the bottom of the pot. it was darker than usual also. The potato soup was the consistency of canned cream of chicken. The bacon or whatever the pork toping also tasted like it was right out of a can. The French dip sandwich, was tasteless, the Au jus was watered down, tasteless. The only thing that had taste on the sandwich was the horseradish sauce. The place used to be busy all the time and today there were maybe 5 tables. Seems like they are struggling to survive. You can't fault them for being a chain; the food is consistently good and with plenty of indulgent or healthy options. I've had all of their salads, a few sandwiches, and a couple of soups. You can't go wrong with a half pairing: a Newk's Q (white bbq chicken) and a bowl of soup (loaded potato is lovely). Grilled cheese and tomato basil soup is a win. Customize any of their salads to suit your tastes or diet. I miss the little edibles bar (pickles and such), but they still have the crunchy breadsticks. Their sweet tea is good. I don't love the chicken salad, but you might. I prefer mine fruity. The mac & cheese is fine. I love being able to place a group order too so that my colleagues can get exactly what they want. This newks eatery is located on Cobb pkwy NE, it is in the same shopping plaza with hobby lobby and wholefoods. There are on site parking beside the business. It is not hard to find a parking spot nearby. The restaurant employees were not required to wear masks, including the kitchen staffs, which we figure out later. We ordered our food and seated ourselves, the girl on the counter took our order fast but without masks. We substituted a chicken club to a turkey club. Don't ever do that, because they charged us $4 for the turkey, and didn't give us the chicken. Which doesn't make any sense. Anyways, during our lunch, we noticed no one actually in the restaurant was wearing the masks including the kitchen staffs, who wears their masks on their chin. Two employees were chatting near us during their lunch break, no problem. However, the lady with the hat was constantly coughing without covering her mouth. It wasn't like one cough, it was every 20 seconds. We didn't feel comfortable to dine in any more. We left our lunch unfinished any left the business. This is the reason I gave one star. I am torn leaving this review because I think the folks that work here are doing a fine job (e.g. service was fine, dining room appeared clean...), so I am leaving this review to send a message to management and/or corporate. I used to eat at newks every week. The food used to be fresh, tasty, and a relatively good deal for what I was getting. Today I ordered a garden salad with chicken added. I THINK maybe there were 4 small sized pieces of chicken, but in the past the portion was significantly larger. The lettuce and the ingredients were just "meh." Some of the pieces of lettuce tasted really bad and were brown in color. I ended up just picking around it and didn't finish even 1/2 of this $14.00 salad. Other notable differences were in regard to the size of the lemon wedges. They were soooo small. Also the "round table" we all look forward to just had napkins and seasonings. I'm sure some of this is an unintended consequence of COVID; however, the above noted issues with the salad and ingredients should not be. In summary, I cannot imagine coming back here unless and until they stop cutting corners on ingredients and charging more for a salad that tastes like a premade salad at a gas station. First time trying Newk's Eatery and was pleasantly surprised. My wife said she had Newk's catered to her work and it all tasted fresh. I have to say that that's the word that came to mind when I ate at Newk's. We ordered the Sausage and Pepperoni pizza, the Newk's Favorite salad, and the Lobster and Tomato Bisque bowl of soup. We loved everything we ordered. As mentioned before, it all tasted fresh. The salad portion was huge. It could easily feed 2 people. I also liked the bar area where you could choose your toppings to add to the food, as well as some breadsticks and crackers. I also liked how they put the lemons in individual containers for your drinks. Something not to be overlooked - the bathrooms were also very clean and I noticed had nice wood flooring. I dragged my husband and daughter to this part of town for a Hobby Lobby and Crumbl Cookie run at the end of my pregnancy -- I mean, baby room decor and desserts, a dream combo -- and my daughter pronounced as soon as we arrived to the shopping area that she was hungry. We made a quick stop at Newk's Eatery, not knowing much about the establishment other than it being a favorite of some of our family and friends in north Florida. My husband and I were both disappointed in our sandwiches. The flavor was a bit bland, and the ingredients within both were very sparse. I also selected iced tea for my beverage, which I believe Newk's is known for, and was disappointed in the drink's quality and temperature. I forget my husband's exact issue -- I think some silverware was missing from our order when delivered to our table -- but his frustration worsened after getting up and asking for help. There was some confusion on the part of the staff when he asked for the missing spoon or fork for some reason which just made a mediocre meal that much more frustrating. I really wanted to like Newk's, especially since dining out with a picky 5 year old limits our dining options, but unfortunately, the quality of food and service here did not deliver. read more

I recently gave Newk's another chance due to my employees always bring their pizzas back into the office! I have had them on multiple occasions and only ever eaten their sandwiches and sides, and sadly have never been impressed so I took a hiatus for multiple years until recently. I ended up here for lunch one day and decided to get a pizza, The Debra to be exact and I can honestly say that I was quite impressed given my previous experience with the chain. This particular location is located on Cobb Parkway, with the new development featuring Whole Foods and Academy. They have had great scores on inspections, the counter attendants are friendly, the food runners are accommodating, helpful and nice. Overall, I stand by not being a fan of their sandwiches and such, but I will come back in for their pizza on occasion for sure! read more

We love newks. Very kid friendly-pizzas and Mac and cheese. Delicious sandwiches-faves are newks q and chicken pesto. We love the salads but they come with sooo much dressing - see pictures of dressing pool at bottom of Salad even after sopping up some dressing with numerous napkins. Ask for dressing on side! We have Newk's once or twice a week. The food is always fresh and delicious! Comes out quickly! The hot food is HOT! And my favorite thing is that the salads are ice cold... and served in a cold bowl! The service is top tier! ALL of the employees are so kind and helpful. I just wanted to shout out Shae, who is very friendly and knowledgeable, and answered all of my catering questions, when I called. She was so patient and good spirited the whole time, as I asked her many questions and opinions. Good customer service is hard to find these days. You better keep her around and give her a raise! Hehe We've eaten at Newk's a couple times and it's always been pretty good, for being a generic, quick food, chain. It's simple and kids love it. When doing research on catering, they seem to have the best rates for the variety of options. I was impressed. Their large sandwich bundle comes w many different types of sandwiches, not just one kind. My first time ever giving Newk's a try‼ I must say it didn't disappoint . Most restaurants don't do chicken salad salad the way my mom does it, but Newk's does. Newk's puts pecans & chopped grapes in their chicken salad salad. This is what makes it good & different. We had a lovely time at Newks yesterday. I had the Newks salad and my partner had the shrimp salad. Both were fresh, copious, and delicious. One of the highlights is that you actually can't find and taste the listed contents be that blue cheese, pecans, grapes or shrimp. This is different than most salads where you can barely find those things that distinguish one salad from another. Allow me to also compliment the dressing on both salads. Each is distinct and tasty. Service is relaxed to slow but given that each dish is made to order, 20 minutes of waiting isn't all that bad unless you are in a hurry.
