Pretty run of the mill sandwich shop. Went in durning lunch time on a Tuesday. Didn't seem very busy but it took quite a bit longer than you would want for a cold sandwich durning lunch time. Especially with 4 employees behind the counter and sandwiches is all they really do. Store is cute. Has a bit of grandmas kitchen feel to it. Bland cream color walls with old artwork but it all comes together to create a comfortable space. Sandwich was about as good as I could just make at home. They will run you $10 with a pickle and a "sample" of pasta salad which is basically just a little ramekin. For me it was more than enough. Price seemed fair. Decent amount of meat. We really enjoyed the #5 Turkey, Avocado, Bacon, Pepper jack cheese, lettuce, mayo, spicy mustard & #14 Corned Beef Reuben, sauerkraut, melted Swiss, Russian dressing on toasted bread. Boars head meat, catered desserts from a bakery and store bought bread. The kind way of saying this: Boring. My Sand which was a turkey, cheese, cranberry on sourdough. Soft on soft on soft. Ask for toasted. You will thank me later. I decided on this sandwich after getting a no to my homemade questions. Example: Pesto - from a jar And someone who runs this place is obsessed with walnuts. Half the sandwichs have them. Your side of potato salad or pasta salad is served in a sauce to go cup. Great if you are watching your calories, not great if you are hungry. The place itself is great for a small group meet up. One large 10 top in the back for 1 large party. You can hear yourself speak. And so can the employees. My conversation with my lunch buddy was interrupted no less than 3 times. Once, I'll excuse. 3 times? Full on had to patiently listen to a 2-4 minute story. Nope. Lost a star. My triple cherry pie from an undisclosed bakery was wonderful. Frankly, I'd like to go to that bakery. This place is a local hot spot. Most of the young clients were trying it for the first time. The original owner is deceased and now a family member is running the restaurant. In all honesty it is a hit or miss on service. I have ordered the same sandwich consistently over the years and something has changed and the recipe is not being followed like the original owner created. Terribly disappointed in service last couple of times and quality is not consistent. Environment seems the same so no changes there. It all holds a charm and the staff engage in the syrupy pleasantness that movies have portrayed as being the norm beyond the doors of small town luncheonette in the south. I ordered a Reuben, though one of the kind women said their chicken breast Reuben was their most popular. I looked over and watched them prepare it and noticed that they put my bread on a toaster. Curious as to why, o then watched as she put the corned beef, swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on the toasted bread and put it all in a microwave. As I witnessed this, one of the other women pulled out a bag of pre-sliced ham and said they had to order more. Looking about, I realized there was no kitchen. They obviously make due with a toaster and a microwave. With my sandwich came a choice of pasta salad or potato salad. I chose the pasta salad and it came in a container that you would put ketchup in. So, it was like a shot glass worth of salad. It also came with a slice of watermelon and a pickle spear. My total for this was just under ten dollars. In my opinion, kind of expensive for the quality and the quantity. The sandwich was pretty good. I would eat it again. Odd that there were 3 grapes on my plate and an olive on top of both halves of my sandwich. One of the grapes was bad. I'm not sure how you miss that when you're only giving someone three. My issues lie with someone handling money and then making sandwiches without washing their hands. I just find that disgusting. Was looking forward to trying this sandwich shop. Walked in to a very cold shop. As in no heat on. I mentioned it was cold. One worker said she would turn on some heat. the other worker said no. So as the customer I got no heat. Hmmm. I placed my order with a coke. Oh the coke machine is messed up and someone has gone to get drinks. I would have to wait 20 minutes for my chicken salad because they had a big order to fill for door dash. I said no I am here NOW Door Dash can wait. Now this was 11:15. They open at 11. You would think they would have been there early to get the place warm and be back from getting the drinks. When the person who got the drinks the owner/manager I guess came in she was talking so loud I could not hear what my friend at the table was saying. So I got chicken salad sandwich which had to be made from canned chicken. I heard owner/manager I guess say when the tuna is out it is out. I guess she coukdnt think to get more tuna while she was getting more drinks. So the chix salad has lot of pepper. Small pasta salad came with sandwich. I was hungry so I ordered another small pasta. IT was loaded with black pepper. So I didnt eat much of the free one and none of the one I bought. I bought a bag of chips that had about 10 chips in it. $2.50! Since there was no coke I was offered a prebiotic drink another $3.50 i guess. It was so sweet I could not drink it. The service was non existent. Everyone was busy making Door Dash order. My friend needed more water so I got up to ask if they might have time to get her more water. Owner gruffly said she will bring it to the table. She took our plates asking are we finished. Not can I take those plates for you. I dont know. I kept waiting for the atmosphere to warm up. The place was cold. The people were cold and brusk. I didnt enjoy one thing about that meal or my first time experience. I wont go back. Maybe you will have a better visit. BTW pepper constricts your blood vessels. It was on everything! These ladies are so damn friendly! I stopped here one afternoon as I was in the mood for a sandwich, but wanted to try someplace new. The reviews seemed really good, so I swung by. The shop is on the small side, with a few tables scattered about. There were 3 ladies behind the counter when I entered and I was immediately greeted. They have a lot of different sandwich options, so I was a bit overwhelmed at first. I eventually decided on the corned beef sandwich with coleslaw and Russian dressing on sourdough (which came with 2 green olives and a pickle). My sandwich also came with a side of potato salad and I ordered some of their mint iced tea. While waiting for my order to be prepared, I came face to face with the most delicious looking slice of chocolate cake. Resistance was futile, so I returned to the counter and ordered some. Miss L's uses Boar's Head meats, which I appreciate. I hate crap deli meats. The sandwich was super, super fantastic. My only complaint is that by the time I got home (only about 5 minutes), one side of the bread was soggy from the coleslaw. I'd definitely order it on the side next time. The potato salad was serviceable - nothing overly exciting. The mint in the tea was a bit more than I was expecting, but I drank it anyway. It was actually pretty refreshing. The chocolate cake did not disappoint either - super rich and worth every calorie-laden bite. This is a great little place to visit if you are in the downtown Acworth area.
