We're were very interested in trying this restaurant and ordered our usual: spicy tuna rolls, California rolls, fried calamari, and shrimp fried rice. The fried rice was pretty good but by packed a bit of flavor. The California roll was a typical roll. The spicy tuna roll was nice and spicy however the tuna had been diced into mush which didn't feel good in my mouth. It could use a little less dicing because it was border line mush. Not sure if we'd order from here again, but it wasn't bad just not what we were hoping for. It's worth checking out if you like sushi. read more

Came in for dinner and the experience was great. Our chef was very entertaining and seasoned everything. I had the lobster and scallop hibachi and it did not miss. My daughter had the kids shrimp which was plentiful and very fresh. My other child had the steak and had plenty to take. We also did a sushi appetizer which came quick and was fresh. The hibachi here was so delicious. I am vegetarian and ordered the vegetable hibachi, and I was pleasantly surprised by how full I felt afterward. They include mushrooms in the vegetable assortment, which was nice since it added a bit more substance and protein. I chose steamed rice instead of fried rice, but I did try some of the fried rice and it was outstanding. The soup was also a big highlight. It was warm, comforting, and honestly I could have had multiple bowls. I really enjoyed the yum yum sauce as well. I am not sure if it is made in house, but the consistency was lighter than a typical yum yum sauce, which I really appreciated. I would definitely come back. The only downside was that the front part of the restaurant had a noticeable smell, almost like sewage. Thankfully, the hibachi dining area was separate and did not have that issue. The service was great and there's plenty of parking. Many people come here to celebrate special occasions so there could be crowds, but we went on a Friday and were seated very quickly. read more

Our party of 8 arrived at noon on a Sunday in early February and were immediately seated. They have tables, bar, and hibachi table seating options. Our table ordered sushi, sashimi, hibachi, and kid meals of chicken nuggets. Most items were excellent quality. The cucumbers were a bit seedy compared to the English cucumbers we've seen elsewhere. And the rice on the maki rolls was a bit too loose and was losing cohesion. The meals were served in waves with the last entree arriving about the time the first person, to receive their meal, was halfway finished. The presentation of the sushi and sashimi plates were dramatic and impressive. I found the flavors of my ginger salad, squid salad, soup, and filet mignon hibachi excellent, with the steak cooked as ordered. The service was adequate and the bathrooms mostly clean. read more

Ordered pickup when at work from this amazing sushi place. It was a great price for the lunch meal I got and I'd say the portion would serve 2! Sushi was so fresh. Everything tasted great, absolutely no complaints. Not only did they get everything right and greeted immediately, but everything was packed so neat in their special bag. Extra utensils, napkins, and soy sauce, so nice. I will recommend this place for takeout and I'd be interested in coming here for a special day! Ok. This is our return trip after a month. My wife and I had 3 chef special sushi rolls. Angry Dragon - Wasabi - Dancing Monkey. All were great. Have to call out the Dancing Monkey. I am normally not a fan of mango in sushi rolls, but this was really well balanced. Spicy tuna, pepper tuna, avocado, eel sauce and mango sauce. Everything worked really well together. Angry Dragon was my second choice with a bit of a bite at the end, and the Wasabi roll was good again. Business is picking up and beer/wine were served. My first visit. Great experience. I'm crazy about sashimi The sushi and sashimi was incredible. Very fresh and quality cuts of fish. Though not Omicase style quality, the quality of what they offer is above the rest.! My waitress was incredible! She was very accommodating ( I usually have special request. ) she was very attentive throughout the meal. And the icing on the cake, is the prices for the meals! Going in the middle stars on this one. Went in last week and had sushi. Amazing. Clear soup was a little weird. But okay. Super cute remodel from when it was Shogun. Sushi rolls were really good. Only complaint is they were rolled massive that it took three bites. Ordered to go hibachi and noodles this weekend. Awful. Looked like an entire pepper shaker on chicken. Zero flavor on anything (minus the generous pepper pour). Rice was extremely dry and almost feel like it was frozen. Maybe it's better (as it usually is) eating at the fire table there. Though, with how bad this was, I'm not sure we will even try it. This was really a let down and a lot of inedible food we're now throwing in the garbage. Sad day. read more

Let's start with the good news. The rebuild is just beautiful. The service is excellent. The cost is reasonable. The presentation is beautiful as evidenced by the attached picture of the sushi sashimi lunch combo. My complaint, as a sushi sashimi aficionado, is that I think the quality of the fish has gone down. Furthermore, one of the Nigiri had tilapia on it and that is an absolute no no where I come from. Tilapia is a bottom feeding fish, not only that, its favorite food is excrement. It has a tendency to taste like mud. I don't eat it under any circumstances when I know that it's on the plate. Now I know it's on the plate. That means one Nigiri doesn't count. The salmon, the tuna, the super white we're all fine, but not excellent. It could be that they were prepared earlier and served later or it could be that they are of a lesser grade fish. I really can't say but wasabi is capable of far better as I have eaten at other wasabi outlets. I wish them good luck with this particular endeavor and look forward to trying them one more time in this location. read more

This spot was the old Shogun spot near the mall. Place still has same vibe and nothing new but decor. Went in for dinner. Service was ok. Walked in and no hostess. Had one waiter and poor guy was working the whole bar area until another waitress came in. So we waited a little bit to order. Food was ok nothing special. Update. 2nd visit found out that you ARE suppose to get soup and salad that we didn't get on our 1st visit. The sushi roll appetizer I ordered this time I asked when ordering drinks so it would come out well before the dinner and verbally requested this in wich it was agreed to and though there was more than enough time for this, it did not come out before the meal was being served. The waitress this time wasn't nearly as attentive or as nice as the first, maybe due to the language barrier. She did not want to remake a to-go side dish I ordered to take home that looked burnt but finally did after I followed her and insisted, she even argued about a melted hole on the corner of the box saying it was an air hole. The remake of what has always been known as crab rangoons but they call "Cheese Wontons" still looked very dark on the crunchy ends and the taste wasn't much better, not something I'd order again Another staff member apologized for said servers behavior and said they thought she maybe one of the mg's. The Hibachi chef was still amazing and put on an excellent show but the possible mg i.e our server put quite the damper on what should've been a great meal and experience for us and our our out of town company. It really seemed as if she was trying to add any and all she could to our 150+ bill knowing and not offering any type of rectification about the unserved items on the first visit. However that is understandable because we were late and they were not busy at all. The front of the house was exceptionally nice with good conversation, the waiter was on point who went above and beyond keeping drinks topped off and got everything we needed and asked for. The cooking chef was awesome, he put on an excellent show and cooked amazing food. I had hibachi steak and shrimp, the hubby had the hibachi steak and scallops. We also ordered a sushi roll appetizer. Unlike shoguns there wasn't a soup and salad offered before dinner so th the appetizer is a good choice. Will definitely be going back. The service was TERRIBLE!! DO NOT EAT HERE. The man with glasses that serves the drinks is, RUDE, and acts as if he can't be bothered by the customers. We waited 45 minutes for a drink and a plate of gyoza.. no soup and no salad. The drinks were flat, he didn't offer to change the carbonation or anything. We did order hibachi dinners before they try to use that as an excuse as to why we didn't get our soup or salads. The gyoza was squishy, and only fried on one side. Then once we got up to go and ask for our ticket, he has the NERVE to ask "what is the problem?" Sir you haven't spoke in 40 minutes to our table but have served the other table 3times. Once I asked for the manager, "he wasn't there" and he had the audacity to laugh once we walked away. Not worth the money and definitely not the time. read more
