If you don't mind the drive to Kennesaw from Atlanta, this is one of the best southern buffets in metro Atlanta. Forget going to Golden Corral. The food is delicious. I've especially enjoyed their fried chicken, their meatloaf and their assortment of southern veggies, such as, fried green tomatoes, greens, cabbage, sweet potatoes and more. They also have a large selection of salads and salad ingredients. The service here is top notch, the servers are also attentive and make sure to keep your drinks refilled. BE NICE TO THEM! The dining area is simple and can accommodate very large groups. Depending on the clientele it can go from quiet to extremely loud so don't plan on a quiet meal all the time. Standouts include the fried chicken, jambalaya, chicken livers, salmon croquette, pulled pork (meat alone or sandwich), mac and cheese, cobbler, mini country fried steaks with gravy, and sweet potatoes. Great fried chicken! This is a buffet. All you can eat. They always have great fried chicken, plus baked and BBQ chicken, along with other options. When we were there they had country fried steak, pulled pork and bbq pork, and an assortment of sides. They also have chicken livers twice a week! That's why we went. I have never seen such Light, Clean cabbage (no flavor, no season) . Sweet potatoes super soft & straight out can no extra butter, no sugar , no anything. Collards were cooked in PORK & still minimal flavor. Liquid cheese sauce in Mac, mashed potatoes WATERY & out BOX. Pleasantly surprised by this spot! I have walked past this restaurant more times than I would like to admit. Mainly because I am not a fan of buffets. However, I decided to try something new and check out this spot. When you walk in you are greeted by the cashier. We ordered two buffets and it cost about $30. This does include a drink of choice. After being seated and drink orders placed you proceed to the buffet. Man oh man- they have something for everyone. There is a salad section, several different meat options, a number of sides, to includes starches and vegetables, a few bread options and of course dessert! I started off trying the salad section. I love the chicken salad and ha it a few different times. After trying the salad section I went over to the hot bar. I honestly enjoyed everything with the exception of the mac and cheese. I do have to admit that I am a tough critic when it comes to mac and cheese because my dad does it the best! Dessert was just ok. I think I may have tried a chocolate cake that was decent. 2.5 stars. First of all, this will be a direct comparison to the golden corral. Salad bar here only 60% of what golden corral gives you definitely not as fresh looking or tasting. The pasta salad was pretty flavorless coleslaw not as good as golden corral. Greens only ok, I never had a fried green tomato before that's right I'm from Ohio. It didn't taste like anything except the breading. Mashed potatoes tasted like instant there was no brown gravy. Only white gravy for chicken fried steak gravy was only OK. Chicken fried steak pretty boring. They had many other classic southern dishes that I didn't wanna try because they just look mushy and sitting around for a long time. No thanks.. The big one is chicken thigh. I don't like white meat. I love chicken thighs. This one was only so so golden corral is better. For the price I guess it's OK. You get free fountain drinks with it but so what ... Golden Corral is more expensive $13.50 total here. I will go back to Golden corral overall the food is more consistent there salad bar is awesome at Golden corral. I'll never come back to this place. This was first time that we want to the buffet with our kids. Space: ample amount of space inside to dine in. It had booths and normal tables. The buffet area was medium size compared some other similar style restaurant that I had visited. Food: Everything was good truly home made taste. Even their sauces tastes good. I had fried fish and my son had hamburger and all tasted good If you are coming to this restaurant expect total southern food cuisine. I really love this little buffet. Tucked away in the bend of a shopping mall lies this little gem. The lunch buffet including tax and a drink ran $13.50. For this you had lots of protein choices like fried chicken, country fried steak, swai fried fish (Vietnamese catfish), BBQ, and many others. For vegetables, today they had green beans, fried green tomatoes, collard greens, Mac & cheese, and more. The gem though is the little fresh salad bar. Lots of choices including a great ranch dressing and this chicken salad with walnuts. They have a dessert bar and a soup of the day. This is a great value compared to the myriad of fast food and fast casual restaurants in the area. They aren't that far from Golden Corral, but offer a much better price point and don't have the overbearing crowd. Friendly, attentive waitresses also enhance the overall dining experience. I visited this restaurant on a Monday. I believe they have a daily rotation of some of the offerings. Service- My waitress was attentive and friendly but I was never made aware of the beverage options other than water. Food- I didn't try everything but my favorites of what I tried were the fried chicken and green beans. However everything I tried was good, hot, and fresh at the time I went. Unfortunately, there was a hair in my BBQ sausage that completely turned my appetite off. I should have let the waitress know but I was already done eating so I just left. This was the first time I have tried here, I usually go to the Golden Corral in the next shopping center, but I had heard good things about Fried Tomato so I wanted to give them a try. I am very glad I did. They have a large variety of choices, which are different than other buffets in the area so you will be in for a treat. It looks like they have removed some of the tables and spaced out the remaining dining tables so you to close to the next person having a meal. The staff are wearing mask and gloves and they ask that you wear glove when your serving your plate. Plenty of gloves and hand sanitizer available at each food station. I read the good reviews on this place and am always looking for good soul food around here and from the look of this plate I was excited to eat. From the first bite I knew it was downhill from there. The collards are full of stems and have zero flavor. The potatoes have to be instant. The chicken barely had any seasoning and the Mac n cheese taste like stouffers. Every bite on this plate taste the exact same. No matter how much salt, pepper, and hot sauce I added to this it couldn't be saved. Maybe they were just having and off day I don't know.
