The food is never a disappointment. We love the chicken salad sandwich and the bbq sandwich. The service from the moment you come in is usually great. And it's always a good vibe inside and out of the restaurant. Of course don't forget the souvenir cups and bread sticks!!! read more

I feel like I have to hype this place because of their outstanding efforts to social distance and keep everyone safe! I stopped there with my family of 10 and we were able to sit at a few tables outside. We looked at the menu and I went in to order. Within a few minutes, they brought our food to us and everything was very safe. We had a little bit of everything. The best was the Black & Bleu salad, for sure! The kids grilled cheese was mostly bread, not enough cheese, but they didn't complain. We also had to sample the Tippah County Caviar and it was great as expected. Don't mess with chips as your side, get this stuff! Thanks for a great stop during a long drive. We'll be back! read more

Check your food before you eat it, especially if you order a salad. I found a huge fly, larger than a dried cranberry, in my salad. Had it on the fork, about to eat it when I noticed. We went back told the manager... she just offered us a new salad. No thanks! Don't think I want to eat anymore fly lettuce. I realize things can happen BUT they keep their lettuce open without any covering. Maybe if they would cover their food, it would help with something like this happening. I was in Meridian Ms working and I didn't want any fast greasy food. ( but I did I just didn't need it ) so I came into the location. Normal generic greeting by two pleasant young ladies with smiles on their faces. Appeared to be eager to assist me. I notice some great vegetarians and pescatarian options I didn't know they offered. I ordered the salmon Caesar dressing on the side . It was tasty but the salmon a was a bit over cooked and very dry. I will request less nuking in the future. The service was great! They are very kind. The only thing I had a problem with is they don't pick the dishes up for a while and the tables are taken you have to move the dishes. to preface this very disappointing review I am an employee at this franchise in a different location and know very well how this business should be ran. I stopped at the newks in meridian and the server on the main pos kept repeating incorrect information back after being told multiple times when asked if it was correct. and i mean multiple times. my name is four letters and he just kept repeating the same WRONG four letters back to me. i eventually just got tired of repeating myself and just said good enough. my ticket ended up saying Lroy, that's not even close. we decided to sit outside because it was a very nice day and all the tables other than two that were not occupied were piled full of dirty dishes and trash that sat for the majority of our visit. once the food came out it came with dirty silverware, undercooked pasta salad, and dried out chicken, with hardly any meat on any sandwiches. when it was brought to a managers attention it was relayed that the different owner is the reason it's not the same despite advertising all the same menu items. managers were telling to report any issues to corporate rather than listen to the few issues had. managers were more interested in the name and location i worked at rather than how they could help resolve any issues brought up. along with terrible service and overall not good food, as an employee with the newk's company we get a 50% discount at all newk's locations and when i said i was an employee and showed them the proof the cashier told me that i couldn't get the discount and when i told him to go ask a manager they just told him to give me $15 off. im not too upset with that it's just a little disheartening to see how they treat people who are part of the business. if i could give a zero star rating i would. read more

I've have few good words to say They staff was amazing!! The food is not good. "We cut nothing from our kitchen to your table". Because the cuts were made days before the food arrived to the kitchen. Tomatoes taste like ketchup. Pizza sauce taste like ketchup. It's just not good. read more

We had our dog, so needed to eat outside. There is a nice spade outside, but all the tables and chairs without umbrellas are covered in bird droppings. It was empty enough that we easily got a table under an umbrella, but I think management needs to do something about this. read more

I'm a big fan of this chain and try to make it a point on each trip to dine here at least once. On this visit I had a soup salad combo. Their soups are dynamic so I know I'm always going to at least order a soup and on this particular visit I was not sorry I did. I had the Thai Chicken soup and Caesar Salad. I was a little apprehensive to order the salad but I've been in a cessation salad mood lately. With this being in the fast food genre I was expecting a very generic poor quality Caesar but it far surpassed my best expectation. My favorite Caesar I've ever eat was from a high end fine dining restaurant in Washington DC on Penn Ave in eye shot of the White House; after that Caesar the bar was set and I've never been very impressed since. Newk's Caesar is the closest I've come to the best I've ever had so now a Caesar and soup is my go to must have from Newk's. In addition to the well portioned and delicious Caesar my soup was fantastic too. Well portioned as well and very hearty and delightful. It had a creamy broth base so not too heavy not too light and was choked full of herds and flavors that danced well together. Often a soup of this sort has too much going on and tastes get lost but this was a perfect level of many flavors to create a masterpiece of soup. As with each Newk's review I have to note the complimentary gourmet condiment bar and I like the reusable take away cup for drinks other than water. I took a star away... which actually would have been two if I had not been so pleased by my meal... for the attitude of the staff. Everyone was very unhappy and disgruntled to be there working. The worst of them was a busser who cleared 4 tables at one time around our table. He sat his bus pan in the seat right next to my mom and proceeded to literally throw the dishes into the bus pan creating an extremely rude, annoying, and LOUD disturbance during an otherwise enjoyable meal. For those who have not visited Newk's if you dine in the serve on real dishes do imaging 4 tables of 4-6 guests per table's dishes being SLAMMED within 2-3 feet of your ears. He needed to be dismissed immediately for that in my opinion because it's disrespectful to the customers and the property of the restaurant. Because of his and other unhappy attitudes it is doubtful I would return to this Newk's but if you are local and/or don't have the option of selecting another Newk's I would suggest visiting. read more

Then again, a good majority of the United States of America are a bunch of whiny baby complainers that think everything should be perfect and handed to them and they deserve more than they deserve and want 40 dollar service when they're only paying 10??? MY LORD DID SOMEONE JUST SET ME OFF OR WHAT!!!!! Anyways, this Newk's deserved their 4 star review from me. Stopped by here last Friday, 12/8/17, the best snow day of my life was underway. Restaurant was understaffed and it was obvious their food truck delivery was not able to make it in that day. So be it, things happen. My fiance and I enjoyed the smiles on the employees faces that were able to make it in that day as well as our food. I ate more than I should (which is a pretty frequent occurrence) and we both left happy. My only tiny complaint, is that this Newk's is set up quite different from others, it's almost set up as if it were a coffee shop place where hipsters would hang out and talk about whose converse were the most weathered. Yes I'm aware food businesses are struggling through the novid pandemic. But pease, if you continue to stay open, serve food that won't make people sick. I have mentioned in other reviews that I have a bias against chain eateries and that I don't particularly like places where you order at the front counter and they then bring the food to the table. Notwithstanding that both of those are true of Newk's, I did end up at their Meridian location for lunch last Thursday because that was where the family members I was in town visiting wanted to eat. It was my introduction to the establishment. Having already stated what my reservations are I will say that the environment at Newk's was comfortable, the service was friendly, and the food was ample and delicious. I would certainly recommend Newk's--at least the one in Meridian--to anyone who doesn't share my personal biases. read more

Every salad I have purchased from this location recently has had bad lettuce in it. I have literally had to throw half the lettuce out before trying to eat it. I sent one back and they gave me more bad lettuce. There are not many healthy options in Meridian, so I'm here now again and guess what? We called in a simple order (the person who answered did not even say hello btw... they said "uh-huh... then oh, this is Newks") and they told us it would be ready in 10 minutes... The first Newk's I went to was when I was in middle school, close to the Jackson area of Mississippi after a cross-country meet. I'd never really heard of it, and going in, I didn't expect there to be many options that I'd enjoy. My first time was nice, and I liked it, but I was so young and hadn't developed an appreciation of what all this restaraunt does well. Coming again at the location in Meridian after a few years really showed me why this place is so popular. First off, the food is delicious, and there is a great amount of variety so that there is always an entree of everyone's liking, Along with that, design of the restaraunt is nice, allowing for plenty of room for seating without feeling "empty". The only issue was the service was a bit slow, but other than that, really a great place that I would recommend to almost anyone. read more

One of my favorite places to eat in Meridian. Quick and easy to get in and out. The food is always fresh. They have healthy options which is unusual for a chain restaurant. We eat at Newk's in Austin all the time and this one is definitely subpar. We ordered 2 Chicken Caesars and one was way overdressed while the other way under. While there were generous portions of chicken in both, it was absolutely tasteless. The premium chicken club was tiny and also unseasoned, as was the mac n cheese (which was also cold). Only the lobster bisque was decent. Our order was also incorrect - we were charged for a bowl sized bisque when we ordered a cup. The cashier (who was unmasked) spoke so quietly despite us asking him to repeat himself multiple times. And the women's bathroom was dismal - no toilet paper in one stall and no tp holder in the other (so everyone is touching the same tp roll that was set by the toilet - yuck! Newk's is not a cheap alternative for counter service and for this level of quality, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Literally the worst Newk's and employees ruined my entire experience. First of all, I tried to order a triple take and the lady at the front looked at me like I had 4 eyes even though it was on the menu. Wasn't able to get any information. My friend then tried to make his order, and they were also out of the ingredients. Upon needing 10 extra seconds to change our order , she quickly side steps up to take the order of the person behind us. Extremely rude and impatient. I won't be back to this horrible establishment. They also have no ingredients for anything on the menu. read more
