Usually really good. Tonight I got a burned looking crust, few veggies and pesto. Sent it back. 2nd try, crust better but still over browned and dry, few veggies and a big dollop of goat cheese. I really want to like this place. My kids enjoyed their meals (minus the burnt pizza) but my to-go order was a bit of a disaster. First they forgot the kids drinks, then they forgot their chips, then they forgot plasticware... and when I got home I noticed I didn't have any salad dressing for my salad. We typically come here 3 times a week for lunch or dinner and order the same thing each time. It's definitely our favorite hotspot for food. Tonight was a different story. Last time I came in, my bread was hard as a rock but I didn't complain because sometimes things like that just happen. So this time, I came in, we ordered our food and I just mentioned to the cashier about them possibly not ocer toasting the bread. She was very polite and things were good. Paid, got our cups and went to get our drink. As we were standing there, filling up our drinks, the employees got the ticket for the order and things went south. Mind you, I'm still standing there and the employees said "some a**hole just ordered a sandwich with fresh bread" and continued to say inappropriate things along with jokes followed by laughter. MIND YOU, I'M STANDING RIGHT THERE! I went back to the register and asked for a manager. Erin came out and talked to me and seemed really displeased with her employees behavior after we talked for a minute. She handled the situation pretty well and made sure to do the appropriate manager things when it came to us being guests. She's the reason why I'm giving so many stars. Other wise it would have been a lower review. To the CHILDREN working in the back, break room talk stays in the break room. Not in the front and in front of customers. People have picky request sometimes. It happens. I'm sure you've made one or two before in your life. Anyways, thanks Erin. This has become a new favorite for me! I used to love Panera's meals but now that I've found Newk's I may not go back to Panera except for their bread. The Newk's Q is what I always get. It's absolutely delicious. The white barbecue sauce is to die for. I always get the four cheese Mac and cheese as a side to it. It's the best Mac and cheese I've ever had. I love the cups that you get when you purchase a drink. They are sturdy plastic cups so you can take them home and reuse them at home. The atmosphere and food make Newk's one of the best restaurants in town. I can't wait to go back! read more

Newk's is a spacious restaurant and very clean to include the bathrooms. They have a grab and go if your in a hurry. They have a topper bar for your salad or pizza. Their salads are fresh and presented nicely. The mac and cheese is good and creamy. We ordered the spicy chicken pizza. It was defiantly spicy but other than that lacked flavor. Pizza had great presence just wished it would have wowed me with flavor. I would like to come back and try another menu item. Service is friendly. read more

I've been here a few times to pick up an online order and to dine in. The set up of the restaurant is a little different than most places. There are 2 entrances. The one with 2 registers is where you order (menu posted on the wall to the left or they have menu brochures). The other entrance is where they have grab and go items (sandwiches, pasta salad, chicken salad, desserts) and you can pick up orders. In the middle of the restaurant is an area with add ons for salads and there are prepackaged breadsticks. The pickles are thickly sliced sweet pickles.... if you don't like sweet pickles, don't try them. Online ordering was super simple and special instructions (no mustard, extra lettuce, etc) have always been correct. Even when I forgot to order no mustard when we ate inside, they were able to accomodate the request and didn't seem inconvenienced. Newk's has a variety of drink options including Splenda tea. I haven't been able to find it premed anywhere else. Only downside is the first time I went, they were out. So far I've tried the Italian sandwich, a couple of the pizzas and the club sandwich. Watched them make salads and they seem pretty substantial especially considering you can add so many extra things. read more

The food is really great but I really want to write this review to praise the customer service. So I've been pretty obsessed with their Cobb salad and get it to go frequently lately. Today I got it to go and went to eat in the food court of the mall and noticed there wasn't any chicken which is my favorite part. So I call to let them know and see if I can just pick up some chicken and they asked me where I was and offered to have a brand new salad made up and delivered straight to me. And sure enough in less than ten minutes they delivered a whole new salad! I don't know of any other place that would even think to make up a whole new dish and deliver it. read more

Decent Enough. I never saw myself going to a place with a name like "Newk's", but it was convenient, and I was looking for a new subject for food photography practice. The combination of grilled onions and horseradish sauce on the steak sandwich sounded perfect, and it was certainly good. The onions caramelized enough to be a little too sweet for me, and their "baguette" was just so-so. It wasn't compelling enough for me to really want to explore around more, but it wasn't bad or expensive. read more

I've been here a few times and have ordered salads, sandwiches, soup and pizza. I like that it's fast, but fresh food. All my meals have been good. I normally get the half soup and salad or sandwich. Came by here for lunch today with my grandparents. When I walked in I noticed the friendly light and bright atmosphere and decor, but felt pretty rushed when ordering and the menu was placed awkwardly, probably because most people know what they want right away. I went with the half Cesar salad and Roast beef sandwich. I also tried a piece of Margarita pizza. Honestly, after how everyone talked it up I was disappointed. The roast beef was over cooked but was warm and sauced well with mayo and whole grain mustard on good and crusty bread. It came with a bowl of romaine, cheese, and croutons that was extremely overdressed. The pizza was nothing special. The saving grace was the incredibly kind and polite waitstaff, great service. Beautiful, clean, modern building (they have a wash hands sink outside the restrooms so you don't lose your kids when you send them to wash up) and a very efficient system for ordering and receiving your freshly prepared food, but the food, OH LA LA -- the food is delicious -- fresh, healthy and yummy. I ordered the Newk's favorite salad through doordash. I noticed my dasher got to the restaurant about 2 minutes after i put in my order. This made me nervous thinking he/she would just grab the "grab n go" salad that they make on the side. I customized my salad that's why i was skeptical that my dasher arrived so quickly. I called Newk's to inform them about the changes i made to my salad, no artichokes add avocados, extra grapes, and extra dressing. The women i spoke to the first time informed me she would double check the salad and make sure it was correct. When the dasher arrived to my work with my food, my order was wrong and missing the avocados that i paid extra to have. Of course this upset me since i had called Newk's and informed them that my salad was customized . I was informed that it would be double checked for accuracy. So i called Newk's again to let them know that my order was still messed up. When i called the second time Erin had answered and immediately knew who i was and repeated my order back to me. I expressed that my salad was still wrong and she gave me 2 options. 1 she could run down to my office and drop off the avocados or credit me back. I asked her to please drop off the avocados because i love them with this salad. ERIN YOU ARE AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!!! She drove and dropped off my avocados and some complimentary dessert. She did not have to drive back down to my office and i am forever grateful she did. She deserves a huge SHOUT OUT in putting up with me and making sure I was 100% satisfied with her service. I went in, hopeful because it's a new restaurant and a new experience. Firstly, the menu was inconveniently far away from where you order. I was excited when I saw mac & cheese though, and got the combo with the standard mac & cheese along with the club sandwich. When I ordered I was pleasantly surprised that the drink cups were actual cups that can be kept and reused at home. After I got my drink I went to sit down. I was again pleasantly surprised at how many different types of seating options were available. From a table with a booth seat on one side, to full booth, to table, to the big booth with the circle booth for large parties, I enjoyed the options. We picked a traditional booth. Once I sat down, I saw the art on the walls, which was the epitome of kitsch. It was lurid, garish colors painted in varying shapes on canvas. Not the most pleasant sight to the eye, but I digress. My food came out after a reasonable amount of time, not super fast but it wasn't that long. The first thing that hit me was how that the portion sizes were quite small. My brothers each got a cheese pizza, the kid and adult portions, and they were both small and thin. My club sandwich was on a sub roll and was decidedly bland and remarkably unremarkable. The mac & cheese was pretty good, and I'd wish I had more to eat but it barely constituted a side, much less the other half to my combo. Given that all of the combos are the same price, I would have probably gotten more food had I gone with a combo that stuck with the soup, salad, and sandwich options. It was nice though to not have to clear my own table. The real core of my problem was that I'd seen it all before. It was like a rework of Jason's Deli with fewer options and no ice cream. Overall I probably wouldn't go again, and wouldn't recommend. There are far better places to eat in town rather than a repackaged chain. read more

Think of Newk's as an upscale version of Jason's Deli. It works pretty much the same way--you walk in, place your order and pay at the register where they hand you a number and a cup for your drink. The drinks are self-serve. The salads are prepared rather than a salad bar. The condiments bar has some tasty items such as roasted garlic (great when you want to be left alone at work after lunch!), pickles, and other items I didn't try. I had a Greek Salad and small soup. The servings were very large and the food was delicious! The prices are upscale for a soup/sandwhich place, even more upscale than Jason's. I'll definitely go back, but it will be an every-once-in-awhile sort of thing. read more

We just tried Newk's and I thought it was very good. The first thing I noticed was that for a sandwich place it has a nice upscale design. This is not a Subway. You put your order in when you walk in the door. You are given a number and you find a seat. It's a pristinely clean and comfortable place with a nice atmosphere, and we were served our meal promptly. We shared a large bowl of their Sunday Soup of the Day--Lobster and Crab Bisque, and it was delicious! My son and I swapped half of our sandwiches, but I wish I had kept my whole Pimento Cheese sandwich because it was amazing! It was like a high class grilled cheese sandwich. Just awesome! My son ordered the Royal, which had several tasty meats, but far too much Creole mustard for me. I thought the heavy mustard hid most of the flavor of the sandwich, but he loved it. I tasted my husband's Italian sandwich, which would have been great, but again too much "Italian Sauce" for my taste. I would ask them to go light on those condiments. As a side you can choose from chips, pasta salad, cole slaw, fruit, or "Tippah County" Caviar (cold black eyed pea salad.) The black eyed pea salad was ok, but I wouldn't order it again. The pizzas looked great, and the large salads looked even better. Everything looked and tasted so fresh. This placed surprised me. I definitely want to try some of their other menu items. We went Monday Feb 15. Cashier could be a lot more polite . She told other cashier to finish taking our order and abruptly walked away. Everything looked clean. Our food came out quickly. I had soup and half sandwich. Dining partner had salad with tuna and soup. Salad was really nice. The soup was below average and very glutenous. Would not order that again. My sandwiche was messy and seemed like it was thrown together. Very messy. For lunch I will probably not return. So back to Zoe's for lunch. We are always happy there. read more
